  1. If the BSPA/SCB are prepared to commit a Team to Ride to represent our Country - it should be up to them to guarantee that, in this instance, two British Riders are nominated to ride in the Event. If they cannot do this then they should respectfully apologise and withdraw from the said Event. Can anyone please inform us as to why Scott Nicholls was effectively banned from this Event? Surely restriction in Trade must come in to this somewhere. They are preventing him earning money from the Meeting. I just wonder if the Powers that be are reacting (getting their own back) to Scott's refusal to ride for the National Team at the SWC. If that is so - it is rather childish.
  2. i) Well they are hardly likely to say anything else are they? You don't bite the hand that feeds you. :nono: ii) Yeah right!!! That is self evident.
  3. It isn't an opinion that they couldn't find a decent British Rider to ride for Great Britain (not the dreadful TeamGB by the way). It is a FACT. If the BSPA/SCB blocked Scott Nicholls from riding - why did they permit Alun Rossiter to attend as Team Manager?
  4. Sadly - I have to agree with this Post. It is a disgrace that we couldn't find somebody British to ride for us. To what level has British Speedway sunk that this is the case? A bit surprised to see 'Roscoe' there for what was, in reality, just 'filler' Meeting with no relevance whatsoever to British Speedway apart from one Rider. All very sad really.
  5. WHAT - you really want to know. If you go to the Office and ask for Dave who runs the Training School - that's him. I am sure that they will tell you of his whereabouts. I hope this helps baldyman..
  6. Fair point. Nothing will change - as per usual. All anyone is interested in is covering their backs.
  7. Who? Tai and Harris (possibly) and Nicholls (possibly) I don't think any of the young ones are up to it yet. It would, however, be worth giving them a go for experience.
  8. The sad thing is we had some cracking 'Pairs' Riders in the past.
  9. I am obviously not explaining my self very well. I had probably better give up on this. I know what I meant anyway.
  10. Sigh...................... I mentioned Wembley in response to being questioned about Numbers - not Tracks. Which also proves my point - Thank you for that Phil.
  11. I think I can see things from other people's perspective. I can also stand my corner in a discussion, as can Bewitcher and others - I can hold an opinion though even if you don't like it. I meant that the Speedway Weekend would be exactly that without Speedway - irrelevant. Therefore the most important thing regarding the Weekend is the Speedway. Surely, you have proved my point for me.
  12. I would agree with that, however, it is inconceivable to me that someone should go to Cardiff for the GP and not consider the Racing to be the MAIN part of the weekend BC. Everything else, to me, is on the periphery. I just can't get my head around that.
  13. Question: IF there was no Speedway Racing in Cardiff would you go on the Speedway Weekend unless for a Holiday. The answer to my question is self evidently NO!! Ergo my Case rests. Q.E.D.
  14. Having been to Cardiff myself - I actually agree with you - it is a superb day out. However, I would question how many people would attend Cardiff if there was NO Speedway Meeting. My bet would be NONE. Ergo the Speedway (the racing) is the reason people go in the first place. The socialising, the banter and the company is very much subordinate to the Speedway. No racing - no Cardiff. Unless, of course, you are implying that the Speedway is not a necessary, nay essential part of the 'day out'?
  15. How about you tell me? EDIT: Oops - I can answer the first question. Less than the number that used to go to Wembley years ago. I hope that helps.
  16. Do you go to watch the pre Meeting entertainment like.
  17. I know I will get in to trouble off you Oldace - but I simply do not believe that the trouble was caused by the 'Green Light' Starts. The 'Green Light' Start is covered in the very Rules and Regulations of Speedway itself. The Riders would have known that. To fly in the face of the Rules and Regulations is foolish in the extreme. You can't win. 'Green Light' Starts have been part and parcel of Speedway for years. Whilst I will admit that the 'Green Light' didn't help the situation - I believe there was far more to it than that. Whether we will ever find out the real cause of the abandonment is another matter. Only time will tell.
