Robert Lambert - What A Talent
The White Knight replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Which is what I have been saying for ages. -
Because that is the right thing to do when someone has attempted to help you out with some information right or wrong., which RD did in good faith. It is called manners - or it was in my day. Thank you for your explanation too by the way.

Scrap The Controversial Heat 10 Rule!
The White Knight replied to heathen chemistry's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I don't want to cause any trouble - but - does any of this really matter? -
Thanks for the time check Arson.

Thank you RD.

Very harsh I think CHR and unworthy of you. I agree the Speedway wasn't the best but it was part of a Drama. If one person watching that decided to investigate what Speedway was - it will have been excellent publicity - and crucially for FREE. No doubt Lakeside benefited financially too. A win, win situation don't you think?

I wish there would be a none appearance of the bloody 'Joker'. Also - how stupid is the no Reserve Rule. It'll get Speedway done away with. Three Rider Teams against Four Rider Teams - honestly. Talk about credibiltiy - it was pathetic on Tuesday. Not just me - Marek Cieslak thought so too - and said so.

Well I'm prepared to give the Show a chance. It was the first Episode and they were introducing new Characters - I think it is a decent idea and will wait and see how it develops before criticising it. Were I a Critic - my verdict would be Promising but needs to improve. As for the Speedway - I was just delighted to see it in a Drama. Very good publicity as far as I am concerned. Well done BBC for that at least.

This is an interesting Thread. I have a query, as I am not very technical. Can anyone explain how you can find out if a Rider is on a 'big' Engine these days?

Surely you have to? The very act of running up is action by definition. -

Darcy Ward
The White Knight replied to Seymour Dix's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That is an opinion to which you are entitled - however - others have the right to differ. To my mind the points should be deducted as that is part of the judgement by the FIM. Regardless of your view that it is a stupid judgement, the sentence has been passed. Knowing British Speedway, I doubt they will do anything - after all - this is Poole we are discussing. -
Who Was Best, Louis Senior Or Louis Junior?
The White Knight replied to Terry's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
He did indeed. 1962. -
I bet you didn't expect me to agree with you Shads - but I do. Only make it 13 Heats. Happiness is 40-38. :approve:

George and Terry Barclay rode together for Sunderland 'Stars'. -
Robert Lambert - What A Talent
The White Knight replied to SCB's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I thought there was a touch of unfair riding by Morris. Had Lambert fallen because of Morris hitting him I reckon Morris should have been excluded. There is 'hard' riding, 'fair' riding and 'hard fair' riding. I don't think what morris did was fair or hard - I thought it was bordering dirty. Lambert was terrific last night. -
Adam Skornicki???

I remember Arthur Miller.

Because, even if your figure of 50% (which I contest) is right - that still leaves 50% of Supporters were happy to watch the 'Second Halves' - I know I was. I know too that a lot of the time the Result of the Rider of the Night Final was arranged beforehand - but I still saw some terrific Races. Plus, as others have said, it was a great introduction to Speedway Racing for the Juniors. I, for one, mourn the passing of the 'Second Halves'.. -
