I have just watched the Berwick v. Peterborough Meeting that I recorded last night. Suffice to say I was disgusted at the total number of re-starts. A point that doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet, unless I have missed it, is the amount of cheating that goes on at the Start. Riders moving ever so slightly to put someone else through the Tapes is cheating. It has always gone on, or seems to have, but I can't remember seeing as many Riders 'at it' in one Meeting as there was last night. I won't name anyone - but if a Rule was made that Riders must sit still at the Start and if they don't - then they are Excluded. I think that would be a good thing. As for Riders getting flyers - if they don't touch the Tapes and they have sat still at the Start - then the Race should continue.

It doesn't appear to HT - it does. It is certainly not reasonable either. Why on earth can we not have Speedway with NO Tactical Rides (Double Points) or Tactical Substitutes or Jokers in the World Cup - if a Team is getting a hammering - so be it. That Team might hammer someone else the following week. It's called Sport. The Result of the Meeting would be decided by Points actually scored then - not contrived, fiddled, cheated and would be at the very least FAIR.

Very sad to see this. I have been to Scunthorpe a few times and it is a cracking venue for Speedway. I do not think that lack of interest will be the main problem. Why do I say that? I honestly believe that Government 'Cuts' in their Austerity drive has and will have a dreadful effect on ordinary people's income. I think the truth for all Speedway Tracks is that more and more people are struggling to put food on the table. Speedway has to come a long way behind that and other necessities of life in their priorities. If people are deserting a great Track like Scunthorpe I reckon there is something wrong. I just think a lot of people nowadays will not be able to afford their Speedway. Sadly, in these days of austerity, that is a fact of life. Other Sports will feel the effect too.

I don't know many black people that is true. I do know some though, none of whom, as far as I know, would have a problem with the Somerset 'Rebels' Flag. We, I thought, were discussing the Confederate Battle Flag and it's influence and significance I stated my views clearly that it should be Banned and gave my reasons as to why. You obviously haven't grasped the point that we are discussing something that has various connotations, various ways of looking at it. The only thing I have speculated on is the view of black people, granted I only know a few of them, but those I do know would probably laugh at this discussion we are having and say we were both a couple of idiots.
