  1. Loved all those things on 'Children's Hour' 1700hrs - 1800hrs. I also enjoyed 'Journey in to Space (Monday-I think) and 'Meet the Huggetts' (Tuesday 2000hrs if my memory serves me right). I also loved 'Dan Dare - Pilot of the Future' (1915hrs every weekday night) on Radio Luxemburg. Not forgetting 'Peter Brough and Archie Andrews and the 'Navy Lark' on a Sunday afternoons. Great memories norbold.
  2. Just look at the Track Record Section on here RD. Times are getting faster.
  3. I've said it before and I will say it again. Too powerful Bikes (circa: 2015) for the Tracks (circa: 1928) that they are expected to Race on. I'm just waiting for the first Jet bike. I'm only half joking. If the power were reduced we would see closer Racing and less injuries. I cannot prove that - but I honestly believe it to be the case. Who knows - more exciting close Racing may even bring some Supporters back?
  4. Fair point PW - that can drag things out a bit - followed by the regulation stop Riding because of the state of the Track - that can drag things out a bit more - and then, of course, there is the cancellation of last four Heats. Yep - you should make the 2200hrs Train.
  5. Surely this is just piggy backing on another Thread. I don't see much point in debating the Topic twice.
  6. Do you remember Granny Grove, Lenny Grove and I think it was Diane Grove CHR? I remember all of those. Billy Bean and his funny Machine - blimey - that brings back memories. Not forgetting Jennings and Derbyshire of course - Great stuff. Brilliant Post!!! Thank you so much for this iris123. Only thing missing - Jam Roly-Poly. Plus Custard of course.
  7. I never met shazzybird but I felt from a couple of Posts we traded a long while ago now that she was a really nice person. I only sensed that from her Posts. I never knew that she was ill and am so very saddened by this News. My thoughts and prayers are with her Family and Friends tonight. A beautiful original Post Sandie - Thank you for that. R.I.P. + 'Shazzybird'.
  8. Sorry I spoke. I have a 19" Computer Screen and a 42" Telly. I don't know how to play one on the other - I am not very technical. I just thought I would give folk the benefit of my experience. I thought, obviously mistakenly, that was one of the purposes of this the Forum . Once again - many apologies.
  9. Looks so good you good lift it of the screen. Actually it's a bloody pity you can't - I'm hungry. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Eating the Pie 'n Mash would be infinitely more interesting than some of the Posts I have been reading on here of late.
  10. This is superb. Everything a Speedway Supporter could want. Film of lots of the GPs, Old World Finals, Individual Events and other Competitions. I have just watched the World Final of 1972 and it brought back many memories for me. Credit to my Son for sorting this out for me. I can see me watching this regularly. Thank you to those who have put all this together.
  11. I remember him. Not my favourite Referee.
  12. As I said, Greg Hancock, a great man for representing Speedway.
  13. Wrong!! Crazy Jack, Mad Jack, Millen the Villain is the man I was talking about.
  14. A superb action by the Newcastle Promotion: "NEWCASTLE are to recognise national Armed Forces Day this weekend by offering free admission to all servicemen and women for Sunday’s home match against Scunthorpe". In these days of International difficulties - it is great to see somebody recognising the Service to our Country by all of the Armed Forces. Information taken from the SCB Website.
  15. We did that at Sunderland. We worked on the Track for Free, Paid to get in and did everything that we could to ensure our future. It didn't work for us but I certainly hope that it does at Newcastle should the need arise. For 'Pits' entry only. If you are not useful then you don't get it.
