  1. I can thoroughly recommend the Malcolm Simmons and both the John Berry Books. Both are great reads. :approve:
  2. Very best wishes to those attempting to resurrect the 'Falcons'. I truly hope that they are successful.
  3. In all honesty whka1 - I have never liked the 'seeding' System. It just seems that these days the World Championship is decided more on 'Business needs' than on Speedway. That is the way I see it anyhow. As this is the System that we have - so do I. He, at least, deserves it.
  4. But does that not tell you all you need to know about the Qualifying System for Speedway's World Championship.
  5. My Computer actually RD. Keeping up to date with whats happening on the excellent Newcastle 'Diamonds' Chatroom on the Newcastle Website. My wireless is for the Cricket.
  6. Ignore him Oldace and with a bit of luck he might go away. That's what I have decided to do. At least we can agree on something. :)
  7. No not really. I don't think I can learn anything from you though. At least I know how to frame a Post. I just don't understand the first part of your Post. (That's not unusual in your case).
  8. Thus putting someone else out of the GPs who had behaved themselves - and not been prepared to endanger others by Riding whilst over the Alcohol Limit. There was nothing unfortunate about it. He knew what he was doing. Ward admitted to drinking too much - nothing unfortunate about that.
  9. I can grasp it very well thank you. I have explained my reasoning behind my arguments - have you? Apart from the fact that it would be very wrong to give a Free Pass to someone who was Banned from the Qualifiers.
  10. None of those "several Riders" were Banned from the Qualifiers at the time - and I include Ward himself in that. Ergo - no hole in my Logic.
  11. Because he was Banned from the Qualifiers. If you are Banned from the Qualifiers, ergo you cannot then logically be given a Free Pass in to the GPs, otherwise you make a complete mockery of the Ban. THAT is my Logic and it seems pretty sound to me. Presumably the FIM knew what they were doing when they Banned him for the period covering the Qualifiers. As regards the other Riders you have mentioned - the crucial thing is that they were not Banned from anything ergo they can have a Free Pass if they are chosen to have one. As you probably know by now - I am totally opposed to gifting people places, I believe it is wrong. However, in this we are where we are. I can't change that. I've tried to explain my reasons for him not getting a Free Pass above bruno.
  12. Good Luck to the Lads tomorrow. No more injuries please - we've had enough.
  13. Not logical. You are entitled to your opinion though.
  14. Oh dear............................ Speedway injuries are becoming more and more prolific these days.
  15. It isn't the Tracks. The Bikes, as I have said many times are simply too powerful for the Tracks they are expected to race on. Given that Tracks have hardly changed in shape or length since the 1920s - it has to be down to the Bikes. For me, and here, even such an illustrious Speedway World Champion as 'Briggo' agrees that the Lay Down Engines have only made things worse - not better.
  16. I wish I could 'Like' this Post twice Tony.
  17. Wishing both Lasse and Jan well in their recoveries. Speedway is certainly racking up the injuries this year. Very sad.
  18. One of the best Books I have read. I treasure it because I got it from Malcolm himself and he signed it for me. I remember him fondly.
