  1. Very well put norbold. That is the nub of the whole argument. He was banned from the qualifiers for 2016 - so his Ban should cover 2016 GPs - that is only logic.. Next year he gets a 'clean sheet' and, as long as he behaves himself and qualifies for 2017 - that would be brilliant as far as I am concerned.
  2. Is this the best you can come up with. I suppose things will improve once you get back to school.
  3. No I wouldn't sydney - that would be very wrong. As I said in earlier Posts, I believe that he should go through to the qualifiers for the 2017 GPs then, to my mind he will have served his punishment. To give him a free pass to 2016 would be almost like condoning what he did - in my view. I do know that no-one condones riding whilst over the Limit but the seemingly unholy rush to get Ward back in to the GPs makes it look that way to me. I love watching Darcy Ward race, he is one of the best Riders in the World - I know that. That does not excuse what he did though - or does it?
  4. A shame for the League Champions though you remember - (those are the ones who won the League) - whichever way it goes.
  5. I think we have drifted off the main Topic RD. Good Discussion though.
  6. In some ways - YES. The price is too high - their stupid Rules and wanting things done their way is wrecking the Sport. They have far too much influence in the way the Sport is run. They are a Television Company - not Speedway Promoters. Don't worry - as soon as SKY thinks that Speedway has outlived it usefulness they will drop it ( they dropped the GPs) without any thought for you, me or anyone else.
  7. Now we are getting to the hub of it. What about the morality of it though - or does that not matter any more?
  8. I don't really agree with this either - but - it would certainly be a lot better than just giving/gifting/fiddling him a place.
  9. Another good Post acclennell. Again I agree with most of what you say. I would argue that Newcastle are actually one of the better Promoted Clubs - but apart from that and the Tactical Substitute you are dead right. I would not have the Tactical Ride or the Tactical Substitute. Let Teams live or die by the actual Points that they score. I love the idea of the 4TT and why not an Individual Meeting as well. I used to enjoy those too. None of this will happen though - SKY Television dictate the Rules of our Sport these days, not the FIM, SCB or the BSPA. They say all these silly Rules are better for the Television Viewer - that may be so - but they are slowly killing the Sport with said Rules.
  10. That is one viewpoint Oldace - you are entitled to your view - I just don't agree with you. Sorry. I don't care how many people want to see Darcy Ward ride in the 2016 GPs - because you want to see him doesn't make a Free Pass for him right - especially in view of his transgressions.
  11. Really - why? I welcome him too screm - what's the problem? 'Mystified Sunderland'.
  12. He shouldn't but I bet he will be such is the influence of Monster, BSI and a morally corrupt selection process. He (Ward) should qualify for the GPs - he has missed qualification for 2016 by his own total stupidity it seems to me. That makes it part of his punishment in my view. Once he qualifies for 2017 - I have no problem. If he gets a place in 2016 what does that say about the qualifying System and what does it say to other Riders who could/should be there in his place. The fact is that Ward being given a Wild Card would be very, very wrong. I agree - but in Ward's case he has transgressed - he was Banned for a certain length of time. Due to this he missed the so called qualifiers for the GPs in 2016 so missing out on 2016 GPs is part of his punishment. Remember sydney - he got himself in to this trouble - nobody forced him. Had he not been caught - a Rider could have been seriously hurt or worse.
  13. Afraid not my friend. I can see no humour in the Tactical Ride at all, just irritation and anger. No point in paying to get myself angry. There is only one other option and I have taken it. I still maintain an interest on the excellent Newcastle 'chat room' during Meetings. I still get annoyed, but at least I haven't paid for the privilege.
  14. Is that with Butter and Jam? Makes me tyred reading this Tread.
  15. I quite agree - HE can't. But those who reward him for his bad behaviour can - and should be.
  16. I'm torn on this. This is a very good, indeed excellent Post from acclennell with which it is difficult to argue. I cannot help but agree with everything he says. However, I also have a deal of sympathy for the Newcastle Promotion. They cannot sign Riders they cannot afford or the end result will be closure and no Speedway. No Speedway ever again in my opinion as if it ever closes I think that local residents will ensure that it doesn't open again. As I say, I can see both sides of the argument. I wish there was a simple answer but I am very afraid - there isn't.
