  1. I sincerely hope that you are right. I mean that for all of the threatened Tracks.
  2. Then was then - now is now. Berwick can only try to deal with the situation that they are in now. Dragging up ancient History can only be counter productive.
  3. Sadly you are right. We can only hope that there are enough rich Benefactors or Investors to go around.
  4. The thing is that the Berwick situation is not unique. There are other Tracks professing troubles too. The Tracks are all interlinked. "Partnership, Purchase or Close" as you put it could apply to a number of Tracks, consequently, the Discussion is taking place on this Thread. To me, this is perfectly reasonable because the Solution to one Tracks problems could be the Solution to others too. The Premier League Tracks are all in this together.
  5. With Freedom of Speech you also need responsibility.
  6. Excellent comment by David. I wish him well in his retirement and thank him for the entertainment he gave me. I remember a brilliant Maximum at Brough Park two or three years ago. A wonderful performance from, to me anyway, a super Rider. Very best wishes in your post Speedway days David.
  7. ................... and do you KNOW this for certain? That is a pretty damning Statement if you don't. :nono:
  8. I think it is disgusting that they are allowed to do that.
  9. In a word - Regionalise. With the Recession and Government 'Cuts' Speedway needs to be made as cheap as possible for it's Supporters. If it fails to act on this basic principle then I believe that things will only get worse. My Theory would be to scrap the Premier League, allow the Elite League to go it's own way and merge Premier League Tracks with National League Tracks and run the resultant Leagues on a Regional basis. Obviously there would have to be a reallocation of Riders - but it could work in reducing Costs, Wages etc. Cheaper Speedway might just bring people in - I say might - but who knows.
  10. What I simply don't understand is that residents, who move in knowing that the Stadium is already there, are given a Court Decision in their favour - when they were stupid enough to move there in the first place. Sue their own Solicitor, the Estate Agent - but not a Stadium that has been there for years before them. I really just don't get it at all. I'm very, very sorry for the Stadium Owners and also Mildenhall Speedway.
  11. Nothing to apologise for screm. Thank you for passing on this sad News - that is the important thing. :approve:
  12. This doesn't look good. I really hope that someone can be found to take over at Berwick. It would be very sad to lose such a long running Track like that.
  13. I can thoroughly recommend the Malcolm Simmons and both the John Berry Books. Both are great reads. :approve:
  14. Very best wishes to those attempting to resurrect the 'Falcons'. I truly hope that they are successful.
  15. In all honesty whka1 - I have never liked the 'seeding' System. It just seems that these days the World Championship is decided more on 'Business needs' than on Speedway. That is the way I see it anyhow. As this is the System that we have - so do I. He, at least, deserves it.
  16. But does that not tell you all you need to know about the Qualifying System for Speedway's World Championship.
  17. My Computer actually RD. Keeping up to date with whats happening on the excellent Newcastle 'Diamonds' Chatroom on the Newcastle Website. My wireless is for the Cricket.
  18. Ignore him Oldace and with a bit of luck he might go away. That's what I have decided to do. At least we can agree on something. :)
  19. No not really. I don't think I can learn anything from you though. At least I know how to frame a Post. I just don't understand the first part of your Post. (That's not unusual in your case).
