  1. Great News for Lewis and his Family. Great News too for all of us Speedway Supporters who only wish for the well being and safety of all Speedway Riders. Keep fighting Lewis - we are all rooting for you and you are in my prayers.
  2. I remember that. I also believe that Senior Service (my smoke of choice until I gave up in 1969) can still be purchased from certain outlets. I'm not sure where though.
  3. 'Cardinal' if you don't mind - I've promoted myself. As for some of the comments on this Thread - to be totally honest, I have wasted my time reading them. If this was a kindergarden you would all be put on the naughty step.
  4. You just don't get it do you? The bloody Tactical Ride drove me away from Speedway - is that plain enough for you. I can't spell it out any clearer, I have made it as simple as I can so that, hopefully, even you can understand. I was/am NOT lying to myself - I have stated that I did not like, or agree with the Tactical Substitute but I put up with it. I have also stated that I hate and detest the Tactical Ride which is as close to legal cheating as you can get. I finally got so fed up with it I walked away. So YES orion - the Tactical Ride has cost Speedway at least ONE supporter and probably many more who don't come on this Forum. But go on living in cloud cuckoo land orion - but don't blame me when Speedway Tracks are closing around the Country. You are very good, I notice, at trying to shoot people down but not so clever when it comes to coming up with good positive ideas for the benefit of the Sport.
  5. I'm not getting your abbreviations whka1. Perhaps it's late for me. HL = Heat Leader perhaps........................
  6. You are wrong I'm afraid BW. Speedway Support has dropped by at least ONE (because of the Tactical Ride) - me. So that makes Tony Mac and rmc correct. As I have said before - I know there are more than just me. That, however, is for the other Thread.
  7. Perhaps Lioness was saying it isn't a good idea to judge people too hastily. A trap I seem to fall in to on a regular basis.
  8. Do you have to be so aggravating sometimes BW. No need for it.
  9. Well I don't recall seeing any Meetings without Tactical Substitutes. My memory is usually pretty good regarding Speedway years ago. Don't ask me what I had for Lunch yesterday though......................
  10. i) Never. ii) Mine neither. (51 years of attendance). I just stated the way I think it ought to be. That is my opinion and I stand by it.
  11. I'm not sure of an advert for one Meeting - but - something like that advertising Speedway in general, perhaps with a list of Tracks and their locations might not be money wasted. Basically I think something like that would certainly help raise awareness of the Sport. Whether or not it would encourage new Supporters to go along to their local Track and give it a try - I don't know. It is certainly open to question. I don't see anything wrong with someone attempting to make a sensible, positive suggestion either. You ought to be able to do that on this Forum without all the clever clogs shooting you down in flames. Perhaps you all have good positive suggestions - why not try Posting them?
  12. My whole argument E I Addio, is that I don't want either the Tactical Substitute or the Tactical Ride. Meetings should be decided by Points scored on the Track. That is the sole thrust of my argument.
  13. You are probably right about it's ultimate detriment. I used to love the 'Speedway Mail' - it wasn't afraid to speak out or criticise those in authority if it was warranted. The only Newspaper I've ever read from cover to cover - it was that good. I read it every week if I remember correctly. Sometimes the newsprint came off on my hands. I didn't mind though because I was getting value for money. A great Speedway Paper - sadly missed.
  14. I actually agree with this. There is definitely a place, for investigative Journalism in Speedway - or there ought to be.
  15. Some say Speedway has moved on - some say it hasn't - I'm confused. There is nothing wrong with change if it is for the betterment of our Sport. The evidence of the attendance at Speedway these days would suggest that the changes have not exactly been a roaring success. You are quite a Philosopher orion - I don't think.
  16. I hadn't spotted that E I Addio. As you say - it makes it even worse. Thank you for pointing it out. (pardon the pun).
  17. I fear you may wait some considerable time ch958.
  18. Sadly NS - you could have stopped there.
  19. Hey!!! Don't blame me. GTR??? Could you please translate this in to something meaningful please orion? I really am struggling to understand this Post. Thank you.
