  1. Well I don't recall seeing any Meetings without Tactical Substitutes. My memory is usually pretty good regarding Speedway years ago. Don't ask me what I had for Lunch yesterday though......................
  2. i) Never. ii) Mine neither. (51 years of attendance). I just stated the way I think it ought to be. That is my opinion and I stand by it.
  3. I'm not sure of an advert for one Meeting - but - something like that advertising Speedway in general, perhaps with a list of Tracks and their locations might not be money wasted. Basically I think something like that would certainly help raise awareness of the Sport. Whether or not it would encourage new Supporters to go along to their local Track and give it a try - I don't know. It is certainly open to question. I don't see anything wrong with someone attempting to make a sensible, positive suggestion either. You ought to be able to do that on this Forum without all the clever clogs shooting you down in flames. Perhaps you all have good positive suggestions - why not try Posting them?
  4. My whole argument E I Addio, is that I don't want either the Tactical Substitute or the Tactical Ride. Meetings should be decided by Points scored on the Track. That is the sole thrust of my argument.
  5. You are probably right about it's ultimate detriment. I used to love the 'Speedway Mail' - it wasn't afraid to speak out or criticise those in authority if it was warranted. The only Newspaper I've ever read from cover to cover - it was that good. I read it every week if I remember correctly. Sometimes the newsprint came off on my hands. I didn't mind though because I was getting value for money. A great Speedway Paper - sadly missed.
  6. I think Tsunami said they were attached to the 'kick boards' behind the Air Fence to keep the Air Fence from lifting.
  7. I actually agree with this. There is definitely a place, for investigative Journalism in Speedway - or there ought to be.
  8. Some say Speedway has moved on - some say it hasn't - I'm confused. There is nothing wrong with change if it is for the betterment of our Sport. The evidence of the attendance at Speedway these days would suggest that the changes have not exactly been a roaring success. You are quite a Philosopher orion - I don't think.
  9. I hadn't spotted that E I Addio. As you say - it makes it even worse. Thank you for pointing it out. (pardon the pun).
  10. I fear you may wait some considerable time ch958.
  11. Sadly NS - you could have stopped there.
  12. Hey!!! Don't blame me. GTR??? Could you please translate this in to something meaningful please orion? I really am struggling to understand this Post. Thank you.
  13. As do you, criticising anyone who doesn't agree with you. There should be NO Tactical Rides or Tactical Substitutes. If that were to be the case there would be no arguments either. Guess what - Meeting would be decided on Points scored with no fiddles. How revolutionary is that?
  14. Could it be that SKY are getting fed up with Speedway? They've already abandoned the GPs - how much longer before they ditch League Racing as well? Genuine questions.
  15. See below. You two keep banging on about my stance on this. (A stance which I am entitled to take - by the way). I have already stated on here many times that I hate the Tactical Ride. I also hated the Tactical Substitute Rule too. I lived with it - that is all. I cannot live with the stupid Tactical Ride. I want to see Speedway with NO outside fiddles to contrive a Result and indeed on occasion cost other Teams Matches. They are both conning, fiddling and cheating (both the Results and the Public). How people can't see this is a mystery to me. Speedway Teams should WIN or LOSE by the Points scored on the Track - anything else is utter bollox. I have explained all of this times without number - so please read and digest.
  16. Great to hear Lewis is making progress. I pray that this will continue.
  17. They do me. (Tactical Ride) I know I am not alone. I must admit I only know one other Person who has stopped for the same reason as me. That at least proves that your statement that: "the rules don't really keep people away from Speedway" is simply not true. What I am saying is that if there are two of us in my sphere of knowledge - logic dictates that there will be others around the Country.
  18. Great to see these 'old timers' gustix. Great Post - Thank you.
  19. Good job they are really - isn't it? I didn't know Philip was French poor man. You are not the only one to comment on this Tigerowl. Someone said to me only last week that he held the same opinion as yourself regarding certain Riders who rode for his Team. It wasn't Sheffield by the way.
  20. Be interesting to see what the Team will be for our next Meeting. Anyone heard how Simon is getting on?
