  1. For some sydney - mistakes are not allowed. As you say Greg has made one - I also agree his Ban should have been for longer. However, perhaps his exemplary behaviour record to date was taken in to account. After so many years of unblemished behaviour within our Sport maybe he has earned a bit of leniency. He has also been a tremendous ambassador for Speedway over the years so he did have plenty of credit in the Bank.
  2. That sort of thing has happened before in Speedway - and I have never been able to understand why this happens? Common sense would seem to say - get the Meeting run. Why not?
  3. As times move on gustix, the memory of these great old Riders sadly decrease. No one can ever take away the Honours that they won in our Sport though - and a lot of their names are etched high in the Speedway firmament. Thankfully there are Record Books - so in that sense they will never be forgotten.
  4. Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!!  Care to expand?
  5. That looks bloody awful iris123. Have you ever tried it?
  6. Agreed. I can think of one Sunderland 'Stars' Rider who would have been sitting on his backside in the Stands too. I wonder who that could be? A bit of a Legend in these parts.
  7. I've never had them - and I never will. YUK!!!
  8. You really are a funny man - in more ways than one.  I don't sacrifice friends easily orion. Tsunami and I had a disagreement - if I remember correctly I was wrong - I apologised that was it. Perhaps if more people on here apologised when they were wrong this Forum might, just might be a better place. Why I am explaining myself to you of all people - I really don't know. Never mind though - you'll soon be back at School.
  9. Another good Home win for the 'Diamonds'. :approve: It looks as if Branford had a decent Meeting for the 'Bandits'.
  10. So you can look deeper in to me than I can myself can you? Very odd, very very odd. Oh - I see you got a like from BW on that one - now there's a surprise.
  11. After Pie 'n' Mash and Prefabs - I would buy it.
  12. Well - why am I not surprised. I got out of the 'mine's bigger than your's' thing in Primary School BW - I'm surprised at you. You will, of course, get another 'Like' from your acolyte orion no doubt. That may be some consolation for you.
  13. You are a Gentleman an a man of your word norbold. Thank you for the explanation - it did make me smile. They are never happy unless they are digging holes in Sunderland - the Road at the end of my Street always seems to be dug up somewhere. They can't fix the potholes though.......................... Of course I will put the Review on Amazon - no problem. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- norbold - I have Posted the Review on Amazon. I hope it is OK for you. Cheers. Ian.
  14. I have finally read this excellent Book. It really took me back to a far better place. I was worried that living in the 'North' the Book would not be relevant to me. I need not have worried, this is a wonderful account of how things were in my youth and childhood it evokes so many memories.. I recall my first day at School and it was not dissimilar to the events described here. I too can remember the frosted up windows in the Winter. Coal Fires, Marbles, Conkers, Chuck Stones (they are not called that in the Book), Howzat (Cricket Game) all get a mention bringing back memories of happier times. Radiogrammes, Record Players, the Wireless - Archie Andrews, Round the Horne, What's my Line etc.. Speedway too gets a mention. All of these and lots of other things too have helped to make this Book a real pleasure to read. I got my copy from Amazon and I am glad I did. I can strongly recommend this Book - I have gone through several emotions reading it. To sum up - a thoroughly enjoyable read. EDIT: I nearly forgot norbold - time for me to discover the 'Hole'.
  15. I hope you will inwardly digest this orion. It might help if you stopped attempting to prove something that isn't true. Just trying to help.
  16. Surely - if he was that good - he could have passed him whenever he wanted. It appears not.
  17. Very good News. How does that effect available Points now that Henry is out for the Season?
  18. I agree - but what good have changes already made done to improve things? My contention is that they have made things worse and my evidence for that is ever falling Crowds. Can you show me any benefits that changes made have made a positive improvement?
  19. You can't possibly win the League these days - only the 'Play Offs'. For information only. If you can read properly I was talking in past tense !!! Please Note!!! Intimating that you could in the past.
  20. Well spotted. THAT is why it is called a Forum.
