  1. Spot on. No orion - the 'Play Offs' make no sense. League, I repeat League Speedway is run throughout the Season, surely, to me anyway, the Team that finishes top of said League are the League Champions. Anything after that is irrelevent as far as the League is concerned - the League is over and the 'Play Offs' begin. Whoever wins the Play Offs' are the 'Play Off' Champions - not the League Champions - that is simply not logical. The only possible reason for 'Play Offs' is cash - and then only for a couple of Clubs.
  2. I totally agree with that sentiment Paulco. The Redcar Supporters deserve their 'big Meeting'.
  3. I'm sorry that you feel that way SCB. To me the News truly is GREAT. Rumours of closure were rife and I honestly thought it might happen. The fact that it hasn't is momentous News for me. I have a lot of friends who attend Newcastle Speedway and I sincerely hope that it continues running for many years to come, both for them and for myself. I still haven't given up hope that the ridiculous 'Tactical Ride' Rule may be scrapped and then I can return. In the meantime I will continue to follow them on the sidelines - so to speak.
  4. I liked Zenon Plech but my favourite Pole was always Edward Jancarz.
  5. Because you used to use the Username KKS. That is enough reason in itself.. I note your change of name that you notified on another Thread and gave you a 'Like' for it. Stay away from KKSisms and you'll do OK for me.
  6. I have no doubt of that either. In reply to Tsunami who takes me to task for not attending. He, and most others on this Forum know why I will not attend - Double Points - nothing to do with Lindgren. For your information Tsunami - if the said Double Points Rule was scrapped altogether - I would be back. Until that is the case I won't be. What is a bit worrying though is that I am not really missing it..................................... I still follow the Team's fortunes, I still hope they do well and win things. I do have a right to my opinion and so does everyone else on here. I will continue to voice my opinions on here because, as I understand it, that is what the Forum is for. As I have said Lindgren has been a big disappointment to me for a couple of years now - I just think a change might do both him and the 'Diamonds' good.
  7. Yes - because people of our age are the only ones who seem interested in keeping the Sport alive. The Senior Citizens keep getting lambasted on here for being backward looking - but at least they go. All this modernization of Speedway in this Country hasn't exactly brought new young people to the Sport in their droves - I wonder why? Perhaps the way forward is indeed 'Back to the Future'. Let's face it - things couldn't get much worse.
  8. More of the same then. I was prepared to give him a chance this Season hoping that the Captaincy and added responsibility would help him improve. Doesn't seem to have been much improvement - if any. Certainly suspect away from home. Replacement required - I think.
  9. Please don't let certain Posters, who should have more sense, get you down chucks. Continue Posting - you are entitled to your view as much as anyone else. Actually - I haven't seen any apologies to you yet. I'm disappointed about that........................... Very true - but the Promoters want them. It doesn't really matter what the Supporters think though does it? After all, it is the Supporters who are the Customers - why worry about them when they will come anyway - or will they? You usually do - why change the habit of a lifetime?
  10. However - had there been no 'Play Offs' - guess what - they would have been Champions now as they fully deserve to be.
  11. More should have been done when Speedway was a really popular Sport. Sadly things have been allowed to get so run down - the Sport of Speedway could well be History in this Country in a few years. I take no pleasure whatsoever in saying this. To a point, I don't even blame the Promoters today. Most of them were probably not around the last time Speedway in the UK was successful. The mistakes were made many years ago. The thing is that hindsight is wonderful thing - but - who is to say that we, had we been Promoters then, would not have done exactly the same?
  12. Speedway used to be much better with straight through exhausts and the smell of Castrol 'R'. :approve: Aahhhh!! - Those were the halcyon days. :approve:
  13. Couldn't we all. You are right about Scunthorpe though HT - great Track, great Racing and great atmosphere.
  14. Could Redcar not hold it on a Saturday Night? Surely they would get a bigger attendance. Any reason why not? Genuine question.
  15. To be honest Dave - I never even considered that there would not be a Guest in the circumstances.
  16. I remember seeing Reg at Sunderland when he was riding for Eastbourne back in the day. R.I.P. + Reg.
  17. Dead right.. The trouble is it has been that time for a long time now. When will they see Financial sense?
  18. Haha orion. At least we would see the end of Tactical Rides and Play Offs. Better not tell Trees that.
