  1. This is supposed to be a Discussion Forum. Of course people are going to comment on the part of the Post they are interested and ignore the rest. I would imagine that is the case on most Post replies. This is very boring so, instead of setting up a sensible Thread and then just being pedantic - why don't you just leave it to those who wish to discuss the Issue you raised and leave it at that.
  2. Big thing for me about this suggestion is Cost. I cannot see British Promoters paying for travel to get these Riders and Equipment over here and, to be honest, I wouldn't expect it of them. The Riders themselves will not pay for the Trip, as Humphrey says, without some form of Contract. Whilst in theory this could be a good idea. Practically it is unworkable. So for me - a none starter I'm afraid.
  3. If that bloody Poster isn't a provocation to all Speedway Fans everywhere - I don't know what is? Take the sodding thing off this 'SPEEDWAY' Forum. If this upsets you - I couldn't give a toss - you have upset me with that image. How insensitive can you get. I've only got two words for you mate - and one of them is - OFF!!!
  4. Yes - but it was you who replied to my Post complaining that I only commented on a tiny part of your Post (thus alluding to size of Post) so I thought I would put it in perspective. See Quote below.
  5. That is a question neither you or I can answer. Interesting Discussion point though................. Incidentally, remove the List of Riders and your Post isn't that big.
  6. Some great Posts on here. The 'Briggo'/Fundin discussion is very interesting. 'Briggo' was always my favourite Rider along with Peter Craven who I never saw ride. Having read carefully the Norbold Posts on here I'm afraid I must concede that overall Fundin seems to have been a slightly better Rider than 'Briggo'. In conceding that 'Briggo' is still my all time favourite Rider. I have met him a few times and he too is a great bloke. Most Speedway Riders I have met seem to be genuine guys and Freddie Williams was a true Gentleman. Sadly missed.
  7. Ooops!! I obviously got that wrong. Sorry. Jenga - I tend to take things at face value. Sorry.
  8. You do have to consider the quality of the overall opposition too. Do that and I think you will find that the fields of Riders in Bengt Jansson/Ove Fundin era were far superior to today's Riders. Obviously the exception might be a very few GP Riders today.
  9. Sad day for a Speedway Club with such a great History. A real shame.
  10. A slight over reaction here. The above two Posts are also totally inappropriate on this Thread which is dedicated to a Person I much admired. I will only say that I admire the Post No: 30 by Paulsmith for his fulsome apology for what turned out to be a genuine mistake. I certainly don't feel the same about yours. All we wanted was clarification - Paulsmith was kind enough to provide us with that. Thank you Paul.
  11. It certainly isn't appropriate on this Thread.
  12. Probably. As gustix says though - clarification is needed.
  13. Well that is a start. Are they beginning to see sense - I wonder?
  14. I'm sorry - I just don't understand your point. Perhaps you don't like it when people come back at you.
  15. Barry Meeks spent a long while in the Guiness Book of Records as the fastest ever recorded Speedway Rider.
  16. Somewhere else on this Forum it says he is Workington bound. I don't know how true that is though....
  17. I think the Speedway Authorities really need to look in to this. It would be tragic if something similar to that young lady Rugby Player were to happen in Speedway. Looking at some of the bangs on the head that Riders take - it is certainly a possibility.
