  1. Whats wrong with just about all of them! We've been over this so many times but something stinks rotten at Ipswich and it's gone beyond the point where it can be put down to form. Every team we've put together since we dropped to the PL has been very good on paper (apart from this years which should still be doing far better), but every time we've disappointed. When I looked earlier at the two teams on paper, I genuinely thought we'd pick something up tonight but again it's been a pathetic "effort" from most of them.
  2. I like Louis, but he doesn't really help himself sometimes with comments like this. We're not daft!
  3. For balance, I agree the track looked much better last week.
  4. "That includes Ritchie, myself and even Bob the trackman. That plays a key role; making sure the track is how we want and I've read lots of stuff about the track not having enough dirt on it. Actually the track has had too much dirt on it at times and they haven't been able to use it, it's been too deep." http://www.ipswichwitches.co/story/pivotal-meetings-to-our-season Yup, okay Chris!
  5. Barkers poor performances are still better than Kerr who sadly hasn't performed as well as hoped. He's not alone in that though but the numbers game meant he was the one who had to go. State of some of the replies here though some of you need to give your heads a wobble! We're a stronger side for the change its as simple as that.
  6. Think it's an improvement home and away TBH. Barker isn't in the best of form no, and doesn't particularly ride Foxhall well, but he's still a better bet at Foxhall than Kerr. Kerr has been poor unfortunately.
  7. We were always one of the better supported clubs in the top flight. Until that last season that nearly crippled us but to be fair we were cannon fodder and were rooted to the foot of the table all season. A competitive top flight team has always been supported well at Foxhall over the years. I wouldn't compare any punches with Bloomy! I've worked the doors with him for years and he's one fella you wouldn't trade blows with. You'd never believe it looking at him either as there's nothing on him!
  8. For Lewis Kerr? Does that fit? Out of the frying pan in to the fire a bit there though isn't it? Barker seems to be in reverse gear these days sadly. Actually this is annoying me now. Couldn't we have gone for Bach ourselves? Obviously available. Glasgow are handily placed but spotted a weakness and have acted, even though as I say they've been doing well. Peterborough weren't happy with a few early performances so went out and got Craig Cook! We've been absolutely dog turd all season and we've swapped one NL reserve for a similar one. Keystone cops springs to mind at our club these days! Pathetic.
  9. Didn't the Guy Nicholls thing crop up about a month or so ago on here? I'm sure someone said they'd asked Guy directly and he completely rubbished the idea..
  10. We just have to write this season off. Better times ahead it seems..
  11. It's a good guess, but it's not right! Sorry been out all day are we getting tired of these yet?
  12. Come on Mick I'm not sure what your point is, and what do points make? If you "asked a hundred people", not many would agree with you.
  13. Both scored well at Brandon last night too, but both have looked tripe for us..
  14. It's hard to disagree with that and it pains me to say it. When they first widened the track they also made a big effort with the track surface and we saw some good racing. Now the track has been left in a sorry state. Very little material for the riders to race on.
  15. He also admitted before the season started Baldy that the track had "deteriorated" and needed work. Has that work been carried out? It's not instantly obvious to me. I'm not saying they haven't worked on it, they must have. But it's certainly not obvious.
  16. https://youtu.be/6BBQChQoVjw The track used to be very narrow we all know that but they invested a lot of money and done something about it. Now, there is nothing wrong with the shape of the track IMO and as you can see from the clip above, it's perfectly adequate to produce good racing. The problem has been the track preparation. The prep in the above clip compared to what we now have is night and day and the entertainment is suffering because of it. I maintain there's nothing wrong with the shape of the track, but the track surface needs improving. Get that right and the entertainment will follow. I think many would put up with a crap team (people would still be disappointed obviously) as long as the meetings were entertaining. At the moment we have neither! The team is crap and the track is crap. That's a recipe for disaster.
  17. Oh and another thing, Heeps and Tungate both seem to be having better season's now they're away from Foxhall.. Another kick in the nuts.
  18. Another good point. Barker was a points machine when we signed him, he was up there with Craig Cook as the best rider in the league. He flopped at Foxhall and has never been the same rider since. Ritchie Worrall made a huge breakthrough at Newcastle and was racking up cricket scores and was labelled the next big British thing. Signed for us at number 1, flopped and has never reached those heights since. Still a good rider, but not developed in to the top rider he looked like becoming at Newcastle before we signed him. Doolan was another who we signed as one of the league's best riders and declined straight away. King was the only one who seemed to buck that trend last season, but maybe he's just took a little longer to read the script as he too now has gone straight down the pan! Bizarre. If you're a top number 1 in this league, avoid a move to Foxhall at all costs!
  19. Yep, Phil's fault obviously. And it was Phil's camera that is to blame for underachieving all the other season's too!
