At least with the AGM brought forward this year, our intentions should me know fairly soon as to what our plans are. If its PL again next year, get King and Covatti signed up nice and early and then put the pieces of the jigsaw together from there. Fresh faces are a must.
-
Whoever starts it always seems to get the "FFS it's too early!" stuff thrown at them so I'll let someone else brave it
-
Rye look worse than utter horse poo at the moment so for me it's a toss of a coin as to whether Plymouth can get the full 4 points. From an Ipswich perspective, I hope Plymouth have some rotten luck this evening with a few tape exclusions and mechanical gremlins. No offence..

6.47 EL average still isn't bad. Still worth signing on that
-
Nicholls maybe fading in the top flight, but in the PL you'd bank on him improving on 8.35 wouldn't you? For some reason unlike a few others that have dropped down, I don't think Nicholls would fancy the PL. Could be totally wrong of course.

Crikey is Scott really 37? Doesn't seem all that long ago he was the baby of the Ipswich team! Life seems to be going scarily fast..

There are a couple of lads in the NL that could be hot property this winter. I'd like to see us sign up one of those if possible.

Premier League Riders Championship - Sheffield 6th Sep

I find that VERY hard to believe. He's been quiet with the anti Ipswich venom for a while now, but he's suddenly returned with an anti Chris Louis/Ipswich post on the Ipswich thread only yesterday, and quickly followed it up with this one regarding an Ipswich rider. Clearly somebody with an axe to grind here. -
Isn't the conference a lot earlier this year? At the moment Scotsman I'd probably agree with you on the riders to let go, but of course it depends on their replacements. It could be when the team is announced that those you mention suddenly look very attractive! Edit: Actually it seems a bit premature and harsh really to be mentioning names to get rid of when we're still in a play off position and could still be all to play for.

Anyway, I fancy Kennett strongly today. He's definitely the form horse -
Well said. This season, we were once again labelled "title favourites", as we seem to be every winter! I honestly don't think Louis has put a poor looking team together since we dropped down and for whatever reason(s), we seem to have underachieved in just about every one. This season I think he's particularly been let down with a few riders that he's kept faith with. We're battling to hang on to 6th and the outcome is out of our hands. That should never have been the case with the team we have. Particularly when we had a reserve "ringer" in Covatti who has put around 3 points on his average!

league meetings, he has. If a Polish rider decided to ride in an individual meeting in his homeland rather than ride for his club here in an important play off fixture, how many would be on here saying "sack him" or "he's showed no commitment to British racing get rid"? Can't have it both ways! Something else I've never understood is the "he's representing his club" argument. How is he? The PLRC is an individual event, not a team event so surely if King were riding he'd be representing Danny King. If he was taking part and won the event, how is that an honour for Ipswich? -

King has been asked to ride for his Polish club and he's really trying to make a go of things over there. He's always going to get rides in England, that's a given. If King turns round and says to his Polish club, sorry can't make your meeting as I'm riding in an individual in the UK, how long before they ask him to ride again? That's the risk he takes and I personally don't blame him one bit for riding for his Polish club instead of the PLRC. -

The track used to be poor before they widened it. Now it's just like 90% of the others in the country that serves up good meetings now and again, poor meetings now and again and ok meetings most of the time. There is a select band of fabulous race tracks around the country and we all know which ones they are, the rest are much of a muchness to be honest. The venue at Foxhall though, it a stocks venue first and foremost. -

Here's hoping for a better meeting than last week, that's all I ask. Very unlikely we'll pull the points back, but if it's an entertaining meeting I'll go home happy. -

A lot will depend on King. If there are any doubts, and judging by last night there are plenty, then we have to go with a guest. Vital fixture for us so no way can we gamble of the fitness of our number one. -
Ipswich V Berwick

Probably because Plymouth are our direct rivals for the last play off place, and they also rode (and lost) last night at Redcar. It would be a bit weird to mention a rider from Somerset who fell off in a meeting against us days ago. -
