I'm still half expecting Wilson-Dean to be in the line up. Including him in the 16 lapper was a bit out of left field wasn't it. Sure there were other non Witches in there, but an up and coming NL rider? He was definitely included to have a closer look at the very least.

Bradley Wilson-Dean

Wouldn't say that either! It depends if a diamond or two can be uncovered on low averages. I remember just about everyone saying Poole were far too top heavy when Holder and Ward were on huge averages and they wouldn't win a bean with their long tail. They then walked off with every pot going! Finding that diamond is a must though. Another 4 point Covatti would be ideal..
-
That definitely seemed to be the case, but he seemed to get over that as the season progressed. King and Kennett actually have had very similar careers and there's never been an awful lot between them over the years.
-
I disagree because Rolando said he's signing. So welcome to Foxhall Ted
-
I'm warming to the idea of King Kennett and Covatti. Can't see it happening to be honest but it would be interesting to say the least.

From Jon Cook on the Lakeside website "Adam Ellis will be going out on loan by mutual agreement to a track more suited to his development at this point”. Very good news from the lad's perspective. We know he doesn't enjoy riding there that is no secret, so hopefully he finds an EL track that will see him firstly enjoy his racing more, whilst also helping his development. Hopefully he returns to Foxhall also as IMO he has an average he could definitely improve upon.

Oh thought you'd heard something too Would be some spearhead though wouldn't it? Don't think it's unreasonable to think you could get 25 points most meetings out of King and Kennett alone. Factor in Covatti who wouldn't be at 1 OR 5, and throw in around 8 points from him, and you're looking for 13 points from the remaining 4 to be winning meetings. 4 from Ellis at number 2, 4 from the remaining member of the 1-5, and then 5 points between the two reserves and Bob's your teapot we've just won 44-46 at Embra. Easy this

They made a point of stating after last years AGM that this year they were bringing forward the AGM by "at least a month" so clubs could get on with signing riders before they disappeared for the winter. So I don't think this is a pre-AGM as such, or is it? Who knows with this lot!

Eh? Some substance to this Bruv?

True enough Badge and I agree it's very frustrating. But King has been an excellent number 1 this year and you could argue that he's been more than worth having and missing the odd meeting here and there. Would you go for someone like King knowing he'll miss a few meetings, or settle for a lesser rider whose guaranteed to be there every week?

I'd like to know why Roland seems so confident on Kennett. Rolando?
-
And we'd guarantee to retain the pairs
-
Along with King and Covatti!?? King is on 9.54, Covatti 7.55 and Kennett finished with 9.58. Assuming we're going with 42.50 again, then even with two 3 pointers at reserve you're left with only 9.83 for two of the top 5.

Crikey we could look very different next year! Wonder if Morten will return though..

Why has the official Witches Twitter tweeted an old picture of Troy Batchelor in his Witches Kevlars?? https://twitter.com/ipswichspeedway/status/654688114342924289

Sounds like Rye aren't the only ones. This taken from the Peterborough thread.. The ‘Why was Robert Lambert sacked?’ poser also received plenty of air-time with Rathbone insisting: “No-one is bigger than Peterborough Speedway even if they think they are. “Robert is a quality rider, but we did not enjoy our time working alongside him and decided as a club to bring it to an end.”

Got to be honest I don't really get the appeal of Ritchie Worrall. He seemed to be on just about every Witches' fans wishlists last winter despite the fact he flopped whilst spending a season here. He's dropped his average again this season whilst not riding at number one either and to me his average looks just about right, a 7 pointer. Didn't find him particularly exciting to watch either but each to his own.
-
Disagree about Worrall. Didn't his "bargain" average actually drop again this year?
-
And even if he declares himself fit, there's no telling how sharp he'll be after yet another long term injury. On his average, you'll need him to be as good as ever, big big risk if you ask me.
-
Good luck with that
-
You confessed you were a miserable git and was off to watch Eastenders

Agree on King and Covatti those two were box office at times this season. Can't imagine anyone being unhappy if they put pen to paper. The remaining five could be interesting as it sounds like fresh faces could be incoming. I'd personally love to see Ellis back if he can get himself away from Lakeside and avoid another Friday EL track.

It's PL in 2016 for the Witches. Confirmed by Louis in today's Ipswich Star. "It's a huge winter for us" he said. "We need a new air fence which is very costly for a club like us. Just keeping the club going is a task in itself. "But we will be entering the PL in 2016 and I'm going to build a team in a change of direction to other seasons." Louis is giving nothing away as regards what he means by that, but he did confirm that King and Covatti the two shining lights from 2015, both want to race for Ipswich again next year. "I know Danny and Nico are big fans' favourites and all I can say is that I want them back, they want to come back, but until contracts are signed, I can't confirm anything." Courtesy of the Ipswich Star. So we can pencil in King and Covatti it seems, but we'll have to wait to find out what Louis means by "change of direction to other seasons". Is the reference to money a hint that next years team will be put together on more of a budget?
