  1. We get these threads every winter and they're just a bit of fun to pass the time. For those that seem to be a bit miffed that some are writing their teams off, I honestly wouldn't worry! One thing I've learned on here over the years, are that the vast majority of people's predictions are atrocious!
  2. Sorry TWK my post wasn't aimed at you, rather a few posts above that insinuated that CardinalSin had disappeared off the forum due to a "lost bet", which is not the case. ancient marina, apologies for going off topic. Interesting looking side Plymouth and I keep repeating myself, but it's another side that has ifs or buts and a few question marks so really difficult to predict. Should hopefully all add up to an unpredictable and interesting season ahead.
  3. Exactly this. In these hard times for Speedway fingers crossed that the new sponsorship keeps the wolves from the door for a few more season's, and then helping the team be competitive at the right end of the table as an added bonus.
  4. CardinalSin hasn't been as active on here as he once was, but that is down to the fact he's been battling bowel cancer for the last 12 months. I think his time and priorities lay elsewhere at the moment get well soon mate.
  5. @ipswichspeedway Title sponsor news coming early in the new year #excitingtimes Tweet from Chris Louis
  6. Glad Stefan has PL place. Just like most of the teams this year actually, I'm not too sure how this team will go. Very difficult league to predict this year as most have question marks.
  7. Untwist those knickers of yours eh? I've given my opinion on most teams that have been completed. Is that ok?
  8. I read that too. All PL 3 pointers are first and foremost PL riders.
  9. Nice to read a few positive words about Phil Hilton there. Good lad Danny. Castagna? TBF Baldy Castagna rode all but a couple of meetings for Sheffield in the main body of the team, so even if he doesn't actually improve (which you'd expect him too) he should still comfortably up his starting figure based on the fact of being at reserve.
  10. Good Friday is early next year, March 25th. Assume that will be our first meeting? We used to open with a challenge match but I don't think we've done that in recent years.
  11. Neither did Covatti. Covatti was woeful for Sheffield. Not saying Castagna will do next season what Covatti done this by any means, but at reserve on a 3 point average I think he'll make a mockery of that figure. He'll put a point on absolute minimum. If a couple of others do likewise and the others hold theirs then we're laughing. Needs plenty of laps under his belt at Foxhall though. It was in the Speedway star a couple of weeks back where Louis admitted that Paco said to him at the 16 lapper that he really struggled with the track. Just like any rider though, you'd expect him to improve on it week by week.
  12. I actually don't think we look too bad off at reserve either. Castagna for me is one of our better signing and one I've marked down as an average improver. Yes I know he struggled at Sheffield, but he was chucked in at the deep end in the main body of the team straight away which may well have affected his confidence. I think he has the potential to put a couple of points on that average and be a 5 pointer. We'll probably know after the first few meetings whether that's the case. That along with seeing how Kerr comes back from his injury, whether Sargeant can kick on again after impressing at the tail end of this season, and whether Covatti picks up where he left off means I'm more excited for next season than I have for a few years. Can't wait to get going and see what this team can do.
  13. As we were one of the first to complete our team the response when it was unveiled was a Luke warm one. But as more and more teams are being completed, the more I'm liking ours to be honest!
  14. Maybe he's been sold? Could be that Buster is a bit miffed at Kerr choosing Ipswich and has made Louis cough up for his contract.. Probably not though.
  15. Miffed? far from it. I'd take our side of most of those you've mentioned. We'll see..
  16. Big thanks to @officialKLstars and fans for the start of my career. I signed for Ipswich not sure on Kings Lynn's decision as it's been discussed seasons before and I felt very strongly about being with Ipswich. It will be released early week where I am riding elite league 👍 Lewis Kerr's latest Twitter update. Good lad.
  17. Well looking good so far! Hawkins in as manager, Tungate nailed on for Somerset so let's hope the most important of the three comes to fruition too. Would be a huge boost to the club to secure a top main sponsor, hopefully long term and financially big enough to support a return to the Elite league next season.
  18. Bizarre. Well Hawkins said we would win nothing under the crap management of Phil Hilton, well let's see what we win under your management Ritchie! Over to you..
  19. Well we'll now know tonight Baldy! Witches twitter feed has just said they're releasing some "exciting" news regarding the team manager this evening..
