  1. The 16 lapper at Ipswich has been my favourite meeting bar none. Each to their own of course.
  2. Hes not riding Baldy. Bates replaces him tonight and tomorrow. Heeps has been terrific lately and with all due respect to Bates, this is another massive kick in the balls!
  3. Aye I know I would be if the shoe were on the other foot. Not their problem and they'll look to take full advantage. We've had no luck whatsoever so far and you have to feel for CL. Not once have we tracked our 1-7 and we've pretty much had the guts ripped out of the side at the moment. Heeps going down with illness now when he's been in superb form is just typical of our luck! Just gotta hang on in there until the walking wounded return and Heeps returns to health. Problem is by then we'll probably be playing catch up yet again.
  4. So no Newman, Covatti and Heeps maybe climbing off his sick bed to ride? Redcar will sniff an away win here and I think they'll get it.
  5. Oh no doubt he would, he's scored 9 in each of his two meetings thus far, but still think we missed Newman more with Sarj's duck egg Just frustrating that we've yet to see our declared 1-7 take to the track and the full potential to the side. Newman back in will mean the difference in picking up a point instead of none, and three instead of one in some meetings. He'll make a difference. King is still struggling for fitness.
  6. Its a difficult one for me. Going in to heat 15 two points down, I think I'd have probably gone with King and Schlein too. Heeps rode well and on the face of it it looks like he should have got the nod, but with the pressure on I still think I'd have gone with the pair that was picked.
  7. Really have to hope Newman is back sharpish. Even a modest 6 points from him today would have meant a 12 point swing on the scores, that makes a massive difference. The potential of this team with Newman in it is very exciting indeed.
  8. Promising opening victory against the title favourites..
  9. LOL most certainly not Baldy! For some reason my iphone "smillies" don't seem to work on here!
  10. You have form for this, any need for the childish petty sarcasm? I haven't, and never have claimed to have "inside knowledge of the club" so pack that nonsense in. You were the instigator on here hinting that Guy Nicholls was taking the Witches to bigger and better things. I happen to know for a fact, that as of today, that is total nonsense and NOT the case. Perfectly happy to explain to anyone why that is via PM. So quit burying these little barbs in your long winded posts it's not necessary.
  11. I just can't get my head around this Witches team what the hell is wrong with them? No disrespect to Scunny but they're pants. On paper we should be winning that but again a terrible "effort". Something is clearly awry at Ipswich and who knows what the hell it is. Individually we have King winning the British title and Covatti sailing through the GP qualifiers and is only 5 rides away from the GP's. In a Witches suit though.. Meanwhile, Rohan Tungate continues to impress and top scores at the Showground to help Somerset run out easy winners. Not a bad rider him!
  12. He'll be wasting his time if he is as he can't ride PL next season. Unless they change the rules again of course.
  13. Well if there is to be a new promotion, I have it on good authority that it WON'T be Guy Nicholls. Next..
  14. Jacobs has been riding really well lately and been beating some PL heatleaders for Belle Vue in the EL so you have to think this is another very good move. Our top 5 is as good as anyone's IMO, it's been the reserve area which has cost us massively. Although sad to see Paco go (we all warmed to him) this change makes the team look much better. If Jacobs can chip in 4,5,6 points most meetings then that is an improvement and could be the difference between winning and losing tight meetings. Amazing that Joe is still a Witches asset and yet only now finally gets to ride for us! Let's go on a charge and try and make ground on that 6th place. Going to be difficult as there's a lot of ground to make up but it's definitely doable and a few more quick away wins starting at Scunny will be just what the doctor ordered.
  15. Got to be honest the rules and regs go over my head, but the latest Green Sheets were released a couple of days ago and are effective "immediately". Our team total now sits on 42.46 so just over the limit, so wouldn't a change mean a replacement for Paco could only be up to Paco's current average which is 3.13? http://www.speedwaygb.co/files/downloads/pl16_issue_20.pdf
  16. Can't see anyone out there on a 3ish average worth signing though Baldy otherwise I'd be all for it. Any suggestions?
