Tai Woffinden
Not Blinkered replied to lucifer sam's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That does not make sense though, it is almost saying to a rider, don't worry, you don't have to perform to be guaranteed a place next season. Many GP newbies have had average seasons, but shone through at times, Emil, Holder, and even Chris Harris did so perhaps deserved their second chances, but Tai has not really shown any glimpses of being good enough at all this season and nearly always looked off the pace. So whilst I hope he makes it back in a season or two, and shows what he is capable of, I don't think his performances justify a place next season. -
Chris Harris
Not Blinkered replied to Cliffeboy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Very few people would dispute that, but Lady Lucks been offensive more than once about Harris, and to suggest he will dine out on this success for years to come is totally disrespectful. Harris has more than shown he has guts and determination after that crash Monday night and whilst some people may not think he is WC material, he is deserving of our respect. -

You really are a nasty piece of work, this is the second anti Chris Harris crap I have seen you post this week. -
Bydgoszcz Gp 2010

Exactly, we all know Pearson has his favourite riders who he sucks up to (Crump, Hancock and whoever is doing well at the time), such a shame twice in recvent GPs he has felt the need to point out Bomber has been in so few GP finals overall. Full credit Chris Harris for a superb season. -
Nominations 2011
Not Blinkered replied to ladyluck's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What rubbish, he has shown in the latter part of the season that he deserves to be there and if he fails on Saturday then reaching a couple of finals this season suggests he is good enough for the mix. -
Are the rules different for international speedway, SGP and SWC compared to domestic British speedway? I have always watched speedway with the result always awarded if there is a crash on the last lap where the result was not in doubt, the ref awards the race. Yet tonight and during the SWC on last lap incidents that idiot Pearson keeps waffling on about 'was the leader of the race across the line when the red light came on'. Now I will take the idiot comment back if the rules are different for international speedway than domestic British speedway?

Croatian Gp

Amazing.. this thread is about the Croatian GP and yet some idiots on here are still bashing Harris for his performances in other GPs. Harris was superb all day, dropping just two race wins out of 7 races. FFS give the man some credit. -

I think Harris deserves the nod again, he has worked hard this season and has made a couple of semi's. But I can not see any British riders, include Harris, that we could consider title contenders. Woffinden as looked out of it throughout the series, does not deserve and should not be given a place next season. -

I wasn't looking or researching, that would be pretty sad to spend ages Googling just to justify a point on a discussion forum, I commented with what I knew off top of my head. -

Personally I think you should only represent the country of birth, until you have spent the majority of your life in another country. But in answer to above, not many sports but I think Greg Rusdeski represented Canada, France and then GB at tennis? At the moment the English cricket team has a player that has played for Ireland and now England. -

Hardly. The old guard was not performing last season at any level, so he tried the young guns. They are not performing too well this season so he reverted back to the old guard (which all of this forum asked for last season) who have all been having pretty good seasons. He does not have much to work with, so any manager would struggle. I would have liked to have seen a young gun in for Stead to give them the experience, but that said Stead did well on Monday, and started ok yesterday. This season the team more or less picked itself, so the role of the Team GB manager is mainly about motivation and the tacticles and I still think he got them right, so the main role for the manager with the limited talent available is to motivate what he has and I have no idea if he is good at that or not, only those inside the pits can tell us. -

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I actually think he chose the right moment to use it, but Chris, by his own words messed it up. -

The constant big-ing it up on Sky about bronze means nothing, it is second losers. I would slightly disagree with you though that I thought Team GB did well today, and were unlucky not to nick third spot, did well yesterday when others failed, so I think they do deserve to be given top four billing, rather than top 6. -

Got to disagree there, Gollob is a genius on the bike, nobody in the present or recent past era can be compared to what he can do on a bike, in my opinion it is his temperment that has seen that elsuive word title slip out of reach. You can still have burning passion inside, without showing your emotions like Gollob does, and sometimes in the SGP we have seen Gollob allow that emotion to get the better of him, whereby someone that might not show the same emotion on the outside but uses that emotion to his or her advantage in their next performance. I am a huge fan of Harris, but you can not compare him to Gollob, Gollob is a genius on the bike. -

Absolutely, Chris was very calm and accepted it was racing, even if he was given a little tap, which he was. He admitted his own mistake in changing the gearing so full respect to him. What worried me more was what the Sky camera's showed, now I appreciate we could not see everything that went on, but first it showed Chris carrying his own bike back, nobody helping him, then Lyons and others looking at the replay and Lyons looked dejected, rightly so, but Lee Richardson was safrican americaning away. That may be something and nothing, but then it showed Chris Harris sitting in the pits looking very dejected and nobody was going over to put a hand on his shoulder to gee him up. There was a lot of talk about team spirit but it seemed lacking from those screen shots. But, a little caveat being we could not see everything so maybe the spirit is there, but they just missed that on screen. Ashley Holloway looked an arse at the British GP last year for shoulder charging Nichols, but this weekend watching him being interviewed, and walking over to help Chris Harris after his fall he actually comes across an ok and nice guy.
