  1. Do you like pasta Buck? Final is at Teranzano in Italy on Sept 2.
  2. Has anyone any info on the above please?
  3. Ah but Steve, do nightmares as well as dreams sometimes come true?
  4. OH MY GOD!!! I was so comfortable in my armchair watching tonight's Grand Prix that I fell asleep after its conclusion and had the weirdest dream which was probably down to the cheese and pickled onions sarnies I had devoured earlier - have to confess that my culinary skills are not that great! Anyway the dream must have been set in the future for in it I work up one morn, switched the computer on and logged onto the BSF. The first posting I read was from a certain forum member from the Poole area and it read," The signing of Jason Crump by the Pirates management is clearly THE masterstroke signing of the century. No other rider can match his skill or determination on a speedway bike and he is clearly head and shoulders above all others in every department. Forget the lesser mortals such as the Rickardssons, Lindbacks and Davidssons of this world and all others for Crumpie is THE man, THE very best rider there is or ever has been and the man who will lead the No.1 club in the World to yet another league title and will romp away with this year's Grand Prix series so al the other riders needn't bother turning up!" Weird dream eh? Or could it come true at some time in the future? Bryn (Note to myself - MUST learn how to cook!)

If he tries to deny it Youngy, you now have proof - and a witness too!

Clearing out my office (or rather attempting to clear it out!) I've come across the details of Crayford's maximum win over Workington and they are as follows Crayford 65 Workington 12 Tuesday 15th July 1980 (second half of a double header with Berwick) Workington operated rider-replacement for Ian Hindle and we lent them TONY BROOKS as their No.8. Tony got one ride - in heat 13(!!) and was leading from the tapes I recall! I also recollect that, from mid-match onwards, the tension in the Crayford side of the pits became almost unbearable with ALL the riders petrified that THEY would be the one to drop a point!! Cheers Bryn CRAYFORD Paul Woods 3 3 3 3 12 Alan Sage 2' 2' 3 2' 9 (3) Steve Naylor 3 3 3 3 12 Laurie Etheridge 2' 2' 2' 2' 8 (4) Les Rumsey 3 3 3 2' 11 (1) Alan Johns 2' 2' 2' 6 (3) Mick Pither 3 2' 2' 7 (2) WORKINGTON: Ian Hindle rider replacement Des Wilson 0 1 1 1 3 Ian Robertson 1 1 1 1 0 4 Kevin Clapham 1 0 0 0 0 1 Wayne Jackson 0 1 1 1 3 Greg Irvine X 0 F 0 Alan Armstrong X 0 0 0 0 Tony Brooks * 1 1 HEATS: 1. 7. Still wondering why you retired so early Shazzy! (see my earlier posting!)
  8. Third place for "The Prince of Port Adelaide" I see! No doubt he, and others, celebrated in style at the Blue Room afterwards!

I'm a little surprised that Nevsy hasn't extolled the virtues of Exeter's 75-15 demolition of Arena Essex in 2000 at this point!

Alas not Kevin - were you?

    65 - 13

Yep - was in the pits when Crayford beat Workington 65-12.
  12. Bah! Can't stand the pace eh Shaz?!! Whilst you had an early night WE were still going strong in the bar at the Marriott Hotel in Swindon after the Association of Speedway Referees Pi.... sorry Dinner and Dance! Mind you, the headache pills took some time to work after I eventualy surfaced mid-morn!
  13. Met up with "Chesh" on my travels down under this winter and he doesn't look a day older than he does in that photo!
  14. If that's true, then all I can say is GET WELL SOON PAT!
  15. 15 - a young Tom Owen 16. Sean Willmott
  16. If no one else does prior to the end of next week SD. I'll do the necessary for you upon my return to the UK (my proggie is currently buried somewhere in a suitcase!)
  17. The Six Qualifiers for Saturday's Final from Friday's qualifier were: Michael Slade 13 Arlo Bugeja 12 Tyron Procter 12 Aaron Summers 12 John Oliver 12 Ricky Barney 10 * ----------------- Res: Daine Stevens 10 * * = after run off Karlis Ezergailis was a non-starter and news circulating was that he had damaged an ankle (rumours suggested he had BROKEN it!) whilst loading his bikes at home!!!
  18. That makes you and me two old gits together then Conkers! Jeez you've made me remember the days of being instructed to "distract"the KGB bloke with the Ruskies whilst certain deals were done out of sight!
  19. Yep! (but not going to reveal their names - don't want other teams, especially local rivals, getting in on them now do I?! Seriously though, there's a lot of good kids out here but, there again, there's a lot of good 'uns in the CL back there - pity there's only eight teams in the competition this season. As for tonight's / tomorrow's meetings (I'm talking Aussie time here!), Sir Lunchy together with Ron / Shona Malm will be bringing regular updates throughout the meetings on both the Yahoo speedway lists (UK & Aussie). And just to end this posting on a REALLY serious note - Just make sure the weather warms up before I get back to the UK next Wednesday will you please people? (Know I can rely on BSF members!)
  20. Just to advise that I'm told Korey Williams is a non-starter for the qualifier - presumably he'll be replaced by the next in line for Friday night's meeting.

  22. Stop eating those pasties and save money then! :-)
