Buxton V Newport 31/10 - Sunday Start Time
Bryn replied to BuxtonTiger's topic in National League Speedway
Jayne and all at and connected with Buxton on deserved success this year - end of story! -
I'm beginning to get the feeling Rob my old mate that you and Parsnips are secret members of both the Anne Widdecombe and "Wagner" fan clubs and hence THAT's why neither of you were at Rye last night! You both missed a good night's action.
-
Yes indeed, let's hope for some more positive news.
-
IF a marriage proposal IS forthcoming Mr. M, any plans laid for the stag night yet?
-
Simply marvellous!
-
Well firstly it was the night before last Parsnips old fruit given the time of your posting but ignoring that technicality, if you were indeed "fully aware that Eddie is out injured and that Coventry had a meeting..." why on earth post, "For example, to me I'd have tried to have Lewis Bridger representing Wimbledon (where he started out riding in second halves albeit never actually wearing a Dons' race-jacket); Eddie Kennett for Hackney - where his father Dave rode for so many years (or alternatively Ed represnting White City where Dave and Uncle Gordon won the League in '77)," which is total nonsense? You obviously have your views on the LRC which you are fully entitled to so why not express same by emailing the club (address in last night's programme) rather than spouting off on here whilst having a personal dig at me? Personally over the years I have always found that when expressing constructive criticism directly to clubs' management it has been listened to and, if accepted, acted upon if necessary.
-
Lewis might have found riding in the LRC a tad difficult Parsnips old fruit bearing in mind he was riding for Coventry in their last home meeting of the season last night! And I think you'll find that he was deputising for ... guess who? Yes none other than Eddie Kennett who broke an ankle in a crash at Wolverhampton at the beginning of this month !

2.30pm WEATHER CHECK: Now at track ready and waiting to answer all the "is it on?" calls except that there appeared to be a problem with the phone BUT, panic thee not for the Sargent Major has seemingly sorted it although he's not sure how! Anyway tis dry although a tad nippy round the ears (and other extremities!)so wrap up warm and see you later! NB - we have been informed that M25 is now OPEN following accident this morning. Finally anyone requiring a 2011 season ticket application form tonight should pop into the speedway office by 6.15pm.
-
Strewth Parsnips old fruit, what on earth led you to come to that conclusion all by yourself? With Rye House obviously not now being able to be represented, I believe they will be replaced by the Rayleigh Rockets. A reminder that if there are any ex-riders out there who rode for London clubs who are free this coming Friday then give me a ring on 07774 935468. Don't panic though, no one is expecting you to race!
-
These meetings will now BOTH take place at Rye House on Saturday October 16, starting with the Fours at 2pm. The NLRC will follow immediately afterwards.
-
Meetings (both today and tomorrow) POSTPONED. Provisionally rescheduled for October 16/17 although that's subject to future official confirmation.
-
I assume Parsnips old fruit, that next you'll be telling us that the Wombles were robbed of the league title in 2005!

Press Release issued today: BARTLETT: WILDCATS FOR SALE Weymouth Weyline Wildcats chairman Phil Bartlett today has confirmed that he wishes to step down as chairman of the Wildcats, from today [Friday 17th September] Weymouth Speedway is for sale. Anyone interested in purchasing the club can contact Bartlett on his mobile number and obviously the club will be sold for the best offer that comes forward and also for the best interests of the club to move forward and keep operating in the future. I feel it’s time that I need to take this move to concentrate more on my business’s and my personal life and quite clearly after running the club for six years it’s time to move forward and let someone else take the successes forward. We had fantastic success in 2008 in the season when we won the league and the fours, we tried to do that in 2009 but we came runners up to the team that won with half of our team from the previous season. This year we have suffered with injuries all the way through with rider unavailability it’s proved to be very difficult to find replacements for riders when injured and we’ve been glad of the successes on track. Therefore I made the decision this morning, a decision that hasn’t been taken lightly but has been ongoing for some months. I have had a couple of offers of people that have come forward, one was to take on a partnership and form a consortium to help me but it’s not the way forward after running the club on my own. Another offer has come in but nothing has been firmed up he wanted to make moves forward but nothing more has been forthcoming so therefore I have decided to put the club up for sale and stand down as chairman. Hopefully the club will continue forward and have more of the success that we have enjoyed, bringing it back to winning ways and winning the league in 2011.

U21 World Team Cup - British Team Selection
Bryn replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Can we please get one thing straight concerning why Tai Woffinden did not ride today and that is that he didn't do so because he is still very much feeling the effects of his crash on Thursday. -
Well done to the Heathens on their excellent fightback to victory that began with Lee Smart's tactical ride victory in heat 5. The Wightlink Islanders will be kicking themselves at losing this one though with engine problems for Danny Warwick and Tom Hill plus a fall for Nick Simmons whilst challenging for the lead in heat 11 proving costly from their point of view. John Resch deputised for the injured Brendan Johnson at reserve for the islanders.
