  1. Do I take it then 'Tocha' that you're not anticipating that you'll be dancing to the Royal Teens in your short shorts on Good Friday afternoon then Tocha?
  2. On reflection I suppose not bearing in mind the fact that Oxford won the league which obviously still wrankles with you.
  3. You can't resist can you Parsnips old fruit? And pray tell us just what you are suggesting?
  4. And the switch to the 'Academy' nickname paid off big-time with the league championship win in 2005 eh Rob?
  5. One rider plus a No.8 to announce and a fair few points to play with! Anyone going to speculate as to who those two might be? Re Rob Smith - am I right in thinking he didn't have any NL league outings in 2010? Got this nagging feeling in my bonce though that I saw him in track action somewhere last year! Courtesy of my old mate Rob Bamford, 23 years old Robs's career to date encompasses: (2004) Mildenhall; (2005) Wimbledon; (2006) Plymouth; (2007) Boston, Plymouth; (2008-09) Rye House II.
  6. You obviously haven't read what I've said in my post you are referring to Parsnips Old Fruit have you?! That was as follows:
  7. As things stand (weather permitting of course!) YES and the hope is for BOTH tracks to be operational.... 11am - 4pm
  8. Will Charles get an invite to present the trophy to the winner Laurence?
  9. Easy peasy to persuade 'em - just tell them you're taking them out for a nice meal (fish 'n chips of course!) in the country!
  10. What was that in Malcolm? Ladies Hockey?
  11. A reminder to Wightlink Islanders fans that there's a Quiz Night at the stadium tonight - go to the club's official website for further details. http://www.islandspeedway.co.uk/
  12. I too hope Danny succeeds in finding a team spot this year but I believe there's a separate thread elsewhere on this forum concerning this so will leave it at that. As to your thoughts on how the Hawks side that has been announced will fare, well there's nothing like pre-season optimism is there?! Of course everybody is entitled to their opinion on any subject 'Blazeaway' whether it be subsequently proved or wrong - no one's saying otherwise as far as I can see. So bearing in mind the costs involved in staging a meeting at each individual venue, what is your own opinion on what you believe should be the correct admission structure? And, perhaps, your reasons for doubting that you will go to Arena-Essex?
  13. Ye gods! Methinks the respective managements involved in this project know what they are doing and they are the people charged with putting the Hawks side together! It is SO easy isn't it to come on this, and other forums, under a screen name and say what YOU think / would have preferred and that is only right and proper in a land of free speech, but at the end of the day what has been decided by those in charge goes. One last point, Barry is good but he's NOT as good as you have described him above - he'll admit that himself I'm sure! "God meetings???"
  14. A Welsh winning weekend all round eh?! Commiserations to my Scottish mates of course!

Naturally as you say a quite brilliant book of course Norbold and one that features a piccy of a certain Hammers No.1 on it's outside back cover giving the thumbs up to British Speedway - and boy didn't he grace our circuits over the years! Whilst I can swear on my brother's next door neighbour's cat's kittens lives that I was NOT around in 1931/32, I know that I DID attend the opener and the Ipswich match. As to programmes.... must sort the shed out ONE day! Can't guarantee they are there though! One last point, feel sure my late great ex-Mother-in-Law used to tell me frequently how cute Ben Howe looked on his MacDonalds bike! Bryn
  16. Sound words indeed Vince and down this way (Kent) alas, it appears that junior grasstrack is far less prevalent than years gone by when there were two excellent junior grasstrack clubs in operation. Although I haven't had contact with either of them for some while I feel certain that both Phil and Neil will read and digest any logical and helpful suggestions anybody might make in addition, no doubt, to trying to bring any plans / ideas they may have had themselves to fruition if at all possible.
  17. Good stuff from all concerned especially Sue and the lads in Oz - Graeme and BFD. Thanks.
