  1. Blimey! Shadders treating you to gourmet fish 'n chips??
  2. I would hope you 'dukes' would see fit to apologise to Sue. Given that everything is voluntary on her behalf and both texters from the circuits and updaters I personally think your comments are totally out of order!
  3. I'm sure a quick message from someone with authority to do so on behalf of the touring side to the webmaster of the BSPA site and/or the BSPA Office / Press Office setting out any official changes necessary, will rectify any problems.
  4. The Isle of Wight have today announced the completion of their 1 to 7 with the signing of Paul Starke on a full transfer from Plymouth. For complete story go to: http://www.speedwaygb.co/
  5. Dear me Parsnips old fruit! Shouldn't you have alluded to the fact that it's actually 'world renowned concert pianist' Jonathon Burrows as was mentioned over the PA at Rye House last Saturday when he was spotted on the terraces?!
  6. Anyone travelling down to Poole from Kent with a seat going spare in their vehicle? If so would very much appreciate it if you could please PM me. Bryn
  7. Let's hope it does come about BUT what about the reported time restrictions? If those are correct surely it will be ultra difficult to make it viable? Depends what you mean by "was run there perfectly successfully." The venue can most certainly stage it BUT, is it viable to do so? Fair comment BUT what if, unlikely as it probably is, a venue for the sport becomes available at say Dover or Maidstone or, dare I say it near Crayford? Using the proposed embracing "Kent Speedway" tag would have to be changed possibly?
  8. Certainly it will be possible to hold speedway at the venue and maybe even this year but, as Parsnips has said above, whether or not it proves feasible remains to be seen although I'm sure everyone would love to see more venues open up.
  9. I hope you're not, like many, confusing the existing entity that IS Sittingbourne Speedway with another completely separate one that MAY stage speedway in future. The track at Iwade IS Sittingbourne Speedway and the management there are putting together a side to travel to the Isle of Wight for the season's opener at Smallbrook. Then there is the Greyhound Stadium - http://sittingbournegreyhounds.co.uk at Central Park which MIGHT be a future venue for our sport but not this year I feel sure.
  10. One favour to ask please and that is for you NOT to bring your scissors to Rye House....... PLEASE DON'T - PRETTY PLEASE!!!
  11. Perhaps someone might have but, possibly being wise, decided to "Do a Dionne" on you and 'Walked on By?"
  12. Have heard from a friend from Australia who has a completed programme that confirms that it's TOM Owen rather than Taffy Owen. Bryn
  13. Yes Indeed Malc, how DO you do your eggs.... over easy? OR like me easy over - I seem to get shell and the contents easily over everything in case you're wondering!
  14. Strewth! Not so long back on this forum people were moaning like Billy-oh that nothing was being done with regard to developing future talent and now the BSPA, in conjunction with Phil & Neil, both of whom are very committed to the cause, ARE doing something, people are STILL moaning! In terms of venues firstly stadium / date availability would obviously be a major factor and secondly, from the schedule published five out of the six rounds will be staged at weekends whilst the other, on the Isle of Wight, is smack in the middle of the schools summer holidays. Surely that ALL makes sense?
  15. I certainly wouldn't rule it out!
  16. Don't know why you would think I'd want to do that Parsnips old fruit. And as for being two out there's a good reason for that as I've only had one dose of caffeine so far this morn! As for the Hawks I and many others I feel sure will be interested in seeing the youngsters in the side continue their speedway apprenticeship and develop further over the course of the season.... looking forward to it.
  17. You? Buy me loads of beers? Nice to see you've found your sense of humour Parsnips old fruit! Are we to take it that you intend leaving your club in SW19 to now support the Hawks? As it happens, thinking back to last year, I hardly had a drink (apart from coffee!) at speedway matches in the UK but I do like to "let my hair down a bit" on my trips to Australia - reminds me, I must get a haircut soon! Now back on topic, will be great to see Hackney back in action, the HSSC have come up with some excellent ideas many of which I would have thought be implemented / tried, and who knows eventually we could see the sport back in the capital - let's hope so!
  18. You don't necessarily have to drink anything alcoholic in the bar 'westhamboy66!' Mind you I'm supping a Bundyfied coffee right now!
  19. Can anybody help? A bit (well MORE than a bit!) of a long shot I know but person who WAS going to give me a lift to Scunny & back from here in Kent (near Dartford Tunnel) has been taken ill and, sadly, has had to pull out. Anyone travelling up and back from Kent / Sussex and has a spare seat (petrol contribution willingly provided of course plus some grub maybe?). A heck of a long shot for sure but if there IS such a person, please PM me! Pretty please!!!
  20. Although yet to be confirmed, it appears that Tai Woffinden may himself have opted out of this year's World Under 21 Championship. If that turns out to be true then two places for the semi-finals, in addition to those already assured for Josh Auty and Joe Haines, may be up for grabs from the British Under 21 Final at Lakeside.
  21. He's not excluded at all! He's seeded direct to the second semi-final where the top scorer from the British Final at Lakeside excluding himself plus Josh Auty & Joe Haines (seeded direct to first semi at Herxheim) will join him.
