  1. Weather may yet still dictate track conditions one would have thought. Cancelled / postponed your holiday yet Steve?
  2. Am interested but, alas, won't be there as my regular lift is going to the grasstrack masters meeting here in Kent.
  3. Like most I firmly believe that airfences have considerably added to rider safety which is only to be desired and strived for but should they be made compulsory? As an example should Rye House be made to install one?
  4. I bet they could tell a few between them!
  5. Spot on Salty - have been present at NL, Amateur and WTC meetings over the course of the last three days and have thoroughly enjoyed them ALL. More NL action tonight, then PL tomorrow.
  6. Have very kindly been offered a lift to KL tonight proving, once again, that speedway fans are GREAAAAAAAAT!!!
  7. Surprised no one's told ya, "It's good for the garden!" Sandie. I ALWAYS seem to get some twerp telling me that!
  8. A long shot I know BUT anyone travelling up from Kent / Sussex via Dartford with a spare seat in their car / van? If so please ring 07774 935468 Cheers Bryn
  9. WAS going to attend tonight but have pulled out as my regular driver is on timekeeping duties at the meeting and wanted to pick me up from here in Kent at 7.30am as he's got to be at track early. TOO early for me!
  10. I was attempting to be somewhat jocular Mateusz - to explain a group called Bucks Fizz had an annoyingly catching huge hit with a song called "Making your mind up!"
  11. A huge shot of Buck's Fizz going on here eh?
  12. Didn't see it myself as was manning the office phone until 7.30pm but was told Paul was due to have a pre-meeting spin at Lakeside last night, Assuming he did, hope it went well.
  13. Thing is though he was born in this country and nothing can change that. As I said I would hope PS gets fixed up (which I'm sure he undoubtedly will!) very quickly indeed.
  14. "Strewth cobbers!" as my Aussie mates would say, when did they move Swindon (where young Mr. Glanz was born!)abroad??? Having said that it sure is tough on Paul Starke and hopefully he'll soon be in action elsewhere
  15. Great news Sandie - didn't 'look good' for a while but better be safe than sorry by the medics in putting him on a spinal board. So no Maccas for him for a while - replaced by soup???
  16. It is indeed 7pm and, prior to that there's action from Noon onwards with the Southern Track Riders Association's latest meeting.
  17. You going to be around THAT long CHK? And also to remember John Perrin at the same time CR. Will never forget the day he called me an awkward cuss (or words to that effect!) just because I asked for coffee rather than the tea he offered when we arrived in the Belle Vue pits at tea time for the evening's match! A true character of the sport indeed. Will never be forgotten in the same way as Lokeren.
  18. Of the five, only knew Martyn to talk to but can well remember the sense of absolute disbelief and shock on hearing the tragic news. Hard to comprehend that it was forty years ago.
  19. Well I am and I do and I sing it too - a few pre-meeting Bundies helped with that! If you don't like it, flip off to your own country and hold the GP there!
  20. Indeed not "RE" for my regular chauffeur is indeed Big Chris in whom's company I have travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles over the years to attend speedway meetings and rain offs in his make believe Bentley and seen him take what I would eloquently describe as 'the scenic route' on most occasions diving off motorways at the merest suggestion of a traffic jam ahead. By so doing he has developed an uncanny knack of coming across 24 hour transport cafes in the middle of nowhere where he feels compelled to stop to sample their version of what some might describe as a 'Big Breakfast' with both beans and tomatoes and two toast rather than fried bread. I cannot confirm or deny though whether he has to demolish the plate of food in front of him in under three minutes on the basis of research, the results of which are scheduled to be published in his 2015 British Transport Cafe Guide once he has visited every such establishment in mainland Britain. Alas though I will not be travelling to my homeland in his company later today as I believe he has decided to take his two dogs for a 16 mile walk along the Kent coast so this is to warn everyone, as I think it only fair to do so, that with Big Chris a non-starter, I will instead be travelling in the company of Scary Sheila! You HAVE been warned! One final point, such a shame to read that Shovvy has seemingly been 'confined to barracks' by 'er indoors, she who must be obeyed and thus has had to cancel his proposed book signing.
  21. A huge well done to all who, like myself, contacted BBC Radio Five Live to complain about their complete lack of even a mention of tomorrow's GP at the Millennium Stadium. That pressure obviously worked as we've just received a mention on Gabby Logan's Show (which John Inverdale is presenting today) and fair play to the legend that is Murray Walker who pointed out to all discussing Silverstone's event much to their amazement, that Mark Webber had flown out to a recent Speedway GP to cheer on his great mate Crumpy!
  22. If only I had one of those! Bit of a cheek maybe but can I borrow yours please?
