  1. Whoopsie! As my late mother might have said Phil, "You soppy sausage!"
  2. Both yourself Phil and Neil Vatcher, plus everyone else who has helped in any way whatsoever with regard to the running of the British Youth Championship rounds thus far this year, deserve much praise and we now look forward to the final round of both the 250cc & 500cc Championships themselves (plus 125cc Supports races?) at Stoke later this month AND the 125cc championship itself at Eastbourne this coming Saturday. I must admit to some surprise that those background people, who normally provide our two sky commentators at live broadcasts with info, had seemingly omitted to tell them about the sterling work put in this year so far with regard to establishing a properly organised youth development strategy in the UK this year under Phil & Neil's direction.
  3. That's because I'm allergic to Sunday mornings alas! As you alluded to though Mr. Morosely.... fine day's entertainment and well done to all who took part.
  4. I believe it's the eighth staging of "The Bestival" from Sept 8th to 11th headlined on the Saturday by The Cure in their only European show of the year, and that the event is taking place at the Robin Hood Country Park. Already a sell out apparently.
  5. I've said my piece, you've said yours, end of story as far as I'm concerned. I had a long chat with Kyle on the ferry over and one with Nick on the ferry back - I'm just extremely glad and mightily relieved that BOTH are okish with apparently no serious injuries.
  6. I quite realise that and in no way was my intention to suggest that anyone, when talking of last night's horrendous crash was criticising either rider 21CH. It was a general point relating to people who, posting on this and other forums under a name of 'JoeBrilliantBloggs' or whatever, make sweeping statements along the lines of 'so and so' is crap!
  7. I think everybody present last night will be delighted to hear that both riders have escaped such a horrendous-looking high speed crash without incurring serious injury. Amazing given that bikes and bodies were sent flying, fence posts severely damaged, a red stop light torn from it's connection leaving exposed electricity cables and there was no way the match could have continued from that point. The stadium fell silent the instant the crash occurred, the medics took the utmost care with Kyle, the County ambulance was swiftly on the scene and incredibly Nick was able to 'walk away' from the incident considering he probably didn't know what hit him! AND he made the 10pm ferry. It's so easy for people to criticise riders from behind 'internet made up names' but trust me they DO risk their lives (Their choice I know) every time they take to the track to provide us with our entertainment and last night's crash might well have turned out far, far more serious than thankfully it did.
  8. Thanks sorted now - was obviously doing summat wrong!
  9. I can't open the above - anyone else having problems? Or am I doing something wrong?
  10. I'm sure that after the pleasure he's given all supporters and service to his clubs over his lengthy career, everyone wishes that Jon makes a full and swift recovery from his injuries.
  11. Whoops! Too many late nights have done me in Phil! Alas can't make it tomorrow either as I'm abroad..... on the Isle of Wight!
  12. Good luck tonight Phil - just sad that I can't be there!
  13. Oh dear - NOT good news at all and my thoughts are with both JLO and his family at what must be a very trying time for them all. As you say 'lionking' John is a great bloke and I can only hope that he's not in too much pain, there's some encouraging news forthcoming concerning his condition over the course of the next few days and, in time, he makes a full recovery. Alas though, it's obviously going to be something of a long job.
  14. Ben's out with what appears to be a busted shoulder - due to see surgeon on Tuesday to decide if operation necessary.
  15. You have my sympathy Gambo and I hope that brick wall is not hurting your head too much!
  16. Hope it doesn't put anyone off but I'll be there Mike - deputising for Edwin, who's away on soccer duty I believe, up in the box on the mic. Don't worry though folks, Kevin Moore will be on the radio mic!
  17. You were "stood" Jaybea???? Steady on old chap, steady on!
  18. NO "SCB": I (NOT anybody else!) deliberately added the "First Two Riders..... " mini-headline to Gillman's press release sent to me from 'The Land Down Under' to see if it would prompt a reaction such as yours, to hopefully make sure people read all the release and then wondered who'd be the first to bite! Congratulations!
  19. Why not pay your "Bruv" a surprise visit and take him to Gillman... or rather let him take you!
  20. See Below: GILLMAN SPEEDWAY PRESS RELEASE FIRST TWO RIDERS NAMED FOR NOVEMBER 26th The first names have been released for the Speedway Racing News Leigh Adams Benefit meeting to be held at Adelaide's Gillman Speedway in November and they include two of Australia's biggest names on the international scene, Chris Holder and Darcy Ward. Chris Holder, 23, is the current Australian Champion and World number eight after a successful debut season in the World Championship series in 2010 which included a magnificent victory in the FIM British Grand Prix at Cardiff. This season he has won the Swedish Grand Prix and is seventh in the points but only six points behind defending World Champion Tomasz Gollob who is in third place. 19-year-old Darcy Ward is the current World Under 21 Champion, and one of only two riders to have won the title back-to-back. He currently leads the 2011 series and will be the first rider to win the title three times if he wins this year. Joining Holder and Ward will be their fellow Poole team-mate and captain, Dave Watt and Eastbourne's Cameron Woodward. “Hey we are not finished yet” said Gillman Speedway Manager Dave Parker, “I am still in negotiations with three more International Superstars and I am sure that come November 26 we will have one of the strongest fields seen in Australia for some time. I must thank Dave Watt for sorting a lot of the riders out in the UK, it has made our job here a lot easier”. “The sidecars were arranged ages ago” continued Parker, "and of course we have Australia’s best including current Australian Champion Glenn O’Brien, current World Track Racing Champion Mick Headland, and Australia’s most successful rider of all time Darrin Treloar”. There will also be a number of past greats attending, like John Titman, Troy Butler and Steve Baker, to name just a few, and Troy's brother Steve will be performing a stunt show as part of the entertainment at what will be a very busy day and night. There will be one special guest though that everyone will want to see, Leigh Adams, who will be there with his wife Kylie and two children. Special raffle prizes will be on the table as well with donations from Kelly Brothers Racing (of V8 Supercar fame), Suzuki ASBK Champion Josh Waters and many others. More updates will appear on the Gillman Speedway web site ( www.gillmanspeedway.com ] as they come to hand, but mark the date, 26 November, in your diaries, and bring a friend to make this night a memorable one for Leigh Adams. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I for one am very much hoping to be present to witness what promises to be a night to remember at Adelaide's Gillman Speedway that I know all involved are working very hard indeed towards ensuring and am posting the above as our well-known "Australian correspondent" tells me he can't contribute personally to the BSF at the moment for some reason or other, not of his making he says! Fellas... why not just tell your other halves that you're 'just popping out for a pint' and hopefully join me and ladies you can tell yours that you're 'just popping down the road for some shopping'!
  21. It certainly was a very enjoyable meeting (apart from the crashes of course) BUT not quite as good as you describe it!
  22. And, alas it appears after being taken to hospital and checked over, broke a wrist in that heat 15 first bend crash.
  23. Longshot I know BUT if anyone is travelling down to this meeting from Kent, has a spare seat in return for share of fuel etc and can pick me up from not too far from Dartford, please give send me a pm via here. Cheers Bryn
  24. Has there been any official announcement as to whom exactly will be sitting in judgment on the SCB Tribunal?
  25. Anybody know if Rob Smith will be fit to ride for the Wightlink Islanders against the Hitmen following his crash in Saturday's away match at Stoke? Looking forward to the meeting, hopefully it'll be a good one with another big holiday crowd attendance and, of course, there's a second night of speedway at Smallbrook on Thursday with the Southern Track Riders Association in Amateur action.
