  1. Stadium scheduled to open at 2.30pm, Parade 4pm, first race 4.15pm - all times approx but that is what is due to happen.
  2. It was Steve Brooker Parsnips old fruit for sure..,. BELIEVE it was Dave Hooper but will check later this morn trusting that you are not referring to 'Super Dooper' Johnny Hooper??? Many happy memories of that place - the only speedway track where I heard a speedway dad ensure his son was ready for action to come each week by uttering those immortal words, "Now you have remembered to have gone to the toilet now haven't you William?"
  3. Not totally sure what has happened to your posting above 'westhamboy66' which seems to have got intertwined with my earlier posting! If you can sort out, then I'll do my best to respond to any points of yours that you are trying to raise.
  4. Maybe, maybe not 'speedyguy' bearing in mind the aggregate scoreline over the two legs was 104-80. And as for heat 11 kerfuffle 'Jef', it would seem that James Sarjeant throttled off rounding first bend as he thought he saw the red lights come on and he thought race had been stopped. Red lights hadn't come on (maybe he caught sight of rear/brake lights on vehicle travelling towards clubhouse?) and you saw he cruised round back to the start line. Have some sympathy with him if that was the cas but what he shouldn't have done was then remain on the track on his bike leaving the ref no option other than to stop the race in the interest of safety disqualifying James as the cause of the stoppage.
  5. Don't panic! (As someone once said to Captain Mannering!) The club's management will cross that bridge when they come to it. Meanwhile, with Nick unable to really give a timescale on his recovery from his double wrist fracture, and the fact that Kyle couldn't really guest ad infinitum to replace him until Nick is back, Kyle was signed. As to tonight's meeting, rain has moved away, the Isle of Wight is still in place, tonight's meeting is ON - are you coming? If so, see you there!
  6. Fixtures have been done up to end of June for all clubs so expect them to publish their fixtures shortly. Had hoped to complete the list in total in last ten days but have been laid low with an almighty grotty bug which has led me to spend more time in bed than out of it! Just to confirm that the primary purpose of this Anglian Junior Development league, and indeed it's Midland equivalent, is seen as a chance to provide track opportunities for youngsters who are looking to 'move up the ladder' as it were and are hoping to, when ready, move into the NL and ultimately further.
  7. Parsnips old Fruit - feel sure Len made the right decision and you might care to have a look at: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html
  8. These leagues are officially designated as Regional Speedway Development Leagues. I will be releasing full official details of the Anglian League once everything is finalised.
  9. With the surname you've given him 'Mr Snackette' it looks as if Cory should be quick out of the starts for Plymouth this year!
  10. Terrible news indeed for Chris and his family in particular, not to mention Rye House and their fans of course. My thoughts are with Chris and his family - let's hope that the operation is successful and that we'll have positive news on him soon.
  11. Buxton have named five riders so far from what I can see, the same as both Stoke and Rye House I believe. Their first schedule meeting isn't until Sunday April 15th and that's a challenge match with their first NL match seven days later so, to coin a phrase... Don't panic! Don't panic! Don't panic!
  12. Surely Deano is a goal keeper rather than a winger?
  13. Wonder if Cribby might consider making a comeback Conkers (assuming he'd qualify as a 'western rider ???). He's only 65! Alas although younger (er slightly! ) than him my memory is fading so a quick couple of questions and they are were you, like myself, present to witness him shedding tears on the rostrum after competing in a qualifying meeting that finally saw him clinch his place in the World Final? And if so, have you got a piccy?
  14. BFD surfing??? That is a truly mind boggling thought! The only thing remotely resembling surf that BFD is likely to touch is the froth on top of a cool beer!
  15. My best wishes go to the staging club and their helpers, all those riding in the meetings and all those attending what promises to be a feast of action. Gutted I won't be joining them all in Brisbane and indeed the other rounds but I'll be putting a shot of Bundy in my early morning coffee (well quacks say I've got to stick to decaffeinated stuff so need it!) as a consolation!
  16. Quite right three Phil and the No.1 reason why Cardiff is better than Wembley is that it's in Wales! Merry Xmas everyone!
  17. They're the same as appear here: http://www.racemcsport.com/hela-programmet-for-elitserien-2012 so certainly look to be 2012 fixtures
  18. Fair comment but the point I'm trying to put forward is that once a rider is "in" the GP system it's easier for him to stay in it than it is for a rider outside the system to try and get into it in the first place! And why ARE four riders (over 25%) chosen to take part in what is a 15 rider world championship? Let me make it absolutely clear I'm all for the World title to be decided over more than one meeting but deciding same over dozen meetings (as I believe is the case in 2012) is far too many to my way of thinking.
  19. Yes indeed ignoring the wildcard at each round but once you're 'in' the GPs you have a 53.33333% chance of staying in from one year to the next as you merely have to finish in the top eight overall scorers.
  20. My personal reservations with the system are: A: There are too many GPs and B: I find it difficult to align myself with a 'Speedway World Championship' in which riders are chosen to take part rather than qualify to do so. Greater minds than I though obviously think differently.
  21. Indeed - but perhaps they've moved it without telling anybody!
