A good combination gathered together here in one place on the BSF of each NL club's main official website info, contacts etc., by yourself "21st century heathen." Not long now until the long, in fact seemingly never ending, close season will indeed be over and I, plus quite a few others I'd wager, am fervently looking forward to getting out of the house to get my regular doses of live speedway action at all levels from training schools, practice sessions, amateur club meetings etc through to the very top levels both here and abroad. Here's to a great upcoming season!

We've had "The White Knight" saying, "FOR GOD'S SAKE LEAVE THE BLOODY RULES ALONE!!!' followed by "SCB" making the comment, "The biggest issue isn't the rules but fans making up rules than then get taken as gospel." Mmmm.... can't help but wonder if another forum member is going to suggest those attending meetings should be asked to sing "The Hallelujah Chorus" prior to racing commencing? (Sorry, couldn't resist! )

Good to hear tomorrow's on - those who are taking part / watching enjoy it! Alas not going to get there. -
He's listed with a 4.30 average on the official final set of 2012 figures (No.28) issued at the end of last October Parsnips old fruit. And my congrats as well to 21st century Heathen for the effort put into this.

Go to the Wightlink Islanders official website at http://www.iowislanders.co for an exclusive question and answer session with Adam Ellis. This is the first in the series and similar sessions with each of the 2013 Wightlink Islanders will appear on the club's official website in the weeks ahead.

Indeed time WILL tell 'Bagpuss' and Stefan certainly has a fair bit of that on his side if he is to reach EL standard don't you think with him at the tender age of 18, that being a mere smidgeon over half your age! And you people up in Lynn have my sympathy at this time as it would appear that Mother T is not at all happy eh?!!

Good luck with that - reminds me of the days of both the Kestrel News and Dons Digest.

Roads Named After Speedway Riders ?

I can't imagine anyone travelling out to New Zealand for the GP missing out on making an appointment to visit Felton Road and have a glass or three of the fine wine produced there can you? -

Where And When To Ride? The Next Available Track Action
Bryn replied to Scunny Stag's topic in Training Tracks / Amateur
Both the STRA and Dragons Amateur Speedway Clubs are set to provide plenty of opportunities for those who want to skid for fun in 2013. Both have published some agreed dates already and, no doubt, there'll be more added in due course. Go to: http://www.southerntrackriders.co.uk/ and https://www.dragonsspeedway.co.uk/ -
A brief reminder that the club's AGM is being held tomorrow night at Smallbrook commencing at 7pm. Yours truly will be in attendance and all the details will appear in due course on the Wightlink Islanders official website at http://www.iowislanders.co

New Crayford Speedway Website
Bryn replied to 1st bend Kestrel's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Good stuff First bend! I'm not sure about the pic of the fans at the 1980 Fours (sheesh 33 years ago!) as they look a right motley crew.... well those down the front to the left of Steve Naylor sure do!!! -
Sad, sad news indeed. R.I.P. Freddie

It would appear that the Isle of Wight's legendary start marshal "Five Laps Les" has spread his influence worldwide as we've just had a five lapper out there at Kurri Kurri in Oz!!! Meanwhile back on the island, a lot of work has been put into fully refurbishing the Premier Lounge and bar on the first floor of the clubhouse. Chances to see and hear for yourself exactly what has gone on there during the close season come firstly when the club hold their AGM on Saturday Feb 2nd and then at a Quiz Night being staged by the Supporters Club on Feb 12th. All the news etc on the club's official website at: http://www.iowislanders.co

End Of The Line For Exeter Falcons...
Bryn replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I too fervently hope that speedway does return to Exeter one day. I have many happy memories of trips west to the County Ground from here in Kent (it's a long way there and back in a day!) including the warm welcome we always received from all there including Colin (Hill) and Tony (Lethbridge) which atoned for the fact that the visiting team(s) I was with never seemed to fare too well on track! And I will NEVER forget Mark Simmons sailing over the first bend fence landing in a back garden (thankfully escaping really serious injury) and Tony Lethbridge racing back towards the pits where we were all standing aghast and fearing the worst, loudly yelling, "We need a ladder! Quick! We need a ladder! -
I just hope it's not got previously unseen footage of SOME of our nights in the Vic Harding Lounge Tony Mc! ;-) Has it got an interview with 'eathy et al as he and the likes of the late Snowy plus many others are certainly integral parts of the club's past?!
-
Sad news indeed and right now my thoughts are with all his family and friends. I feel honoured to have known Ivor J and will retain many happy memories of a man who was a real character in his own right as is his brother Barry of course. R.I.P. Ivor

Is there no end to the man's talents? Spotted this headline in the Oxford Mail of all places! Ukelele Vaizey turned out nice again for school :-)

A full official club press release will be issued later today but I can confirm that Byron Bekker, Brandon Freemantle and indeed Danny Stoneman are the trio that will complete the Wightlink Islanders starting septet in 2013.

Rico Benefit Football Match
Bryn replied to Ali Stafford's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Obviously played with 100% efficiency and never put a foot wrong so consequently not really headline grabbing - things like own goals, penalties etc tend to be focussed upon.... and beating Ipswich of course! -
