  1. RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK - 12.20pm First raceday weather check and here, very near the Dartford crossing, it's been dry and bright all morning with NO hint of rain. The various forecasts predict there'll be no problems as far as today's weather is concerned but should there be any change, then I'll update immediately. Next scheduled update circa 3.30pm from the track.
  2. Had to get up at ridiculous o'clock for today's meeting at West Row that starts at 11am! Last time out we had a total of 58 races - how many today I wonder? Why not come on down folks?
  3. Quite frankly BWitcher whoever you may be, whilst acknowldging your RIP message, as someone at Saddlbow Road that night I don't care what you think otherwise Turning to tonight's match with most, if not all, riders here pre-5pm - meeting most definitely ON with no weather problems.
  4. AFTERNOON MATCHDAY WEATHER CHECK: Coming up to 2.30pm and it's blue skies above, sunny but there's a bit of a breeze so bring a pullover! Meanwhile someone still needs a lift from the Hornchurch area. Can YOU help? If so please phone me on 07774 935468 or PM me. Bryn
  5. For those who delight in deriding riders at every opportunity, perhaps they might like to reflect on the fact that it's thirteen years ago today that speedway's family lost one of their fold with David Nix succumbing to injuries sustained in a crash at King's Lynn. RIP David
  6. Anyone in the Hornchurch area going tonight with a spare seat in their vehicle and able to give someone a lift to and from the match. Chap's dad normally takes him but, unfortunately, is currently in hospital. If you can help then please contact me asap so that I can put him in touch with you. Cheers Bryn
  7. MORNING RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK 9.50am. After a chilly night it's bright and sunny this morning and NO problems are anticipated in terms of the meeting going ahead. Don't forget the junior races at 7.30pm.
  8. It's hard to believe but thirteen years ago today King's Lynn rider David Nix died in Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a result of injuries he sustained after crashing in heat 6 of the Conference League match against Newcastle. Those of us who were at Saddlebow Road that night including myself, will never forget that sad night nor should we. l had the privilege of knowing him and, indeed, regarding him as a friend. RIP David Bryn Williams
  9. The 'main event' does indeed get underway at 8pm BUT there's three Junior Demonstration Races starting at 7.30pm. Gates normally open circa 6.15pm and there's a very large car park you can drive into earlier than that.
  10. 4.30pm WEATHER UPDATE Can't see me having to do any further weather updates ahead of tonight's clash with Wolverhampton as it's, fine, bright and sunny right now as it's been all day. So no problems expected, junior heats 7.30, main event starting at 8pm. See you later!
  11. No worries as my Aussie mates would say TWK, and as I suggested earlier end of thread methinks.
  12. *** - You're a bit behind TWK as the reunion has been and gone and was very successful given the short period of time given to arrange same. End of thread? It is as far as I'm concerned.
  13. Would like to have gone back to Mildenhall after being there today at the STRA meeting but doesn't look as if anyone I know will be going up from South of the Thames with a spare seat alas.
  14. And don't you think given that you are "not trying to cause trouble" TWK, that I WOULD have spoken to Moggo as I did several other ex-Crayford riders, IF I had a phone number for him and as I said I don't know who "Trap 1' is let alone have any phone number or any other contact details for him.
  15. Think I'm allergic to getting up so early on a Saturday! See you at West Row!
  16. Not that I feel compelled to justify myself to you TWK or Mr Hyam, but Moggo was asked from my point of view, an email being sent to each of the two addresses in my possession. And if you read the first post on this thread, that is self-explanatory so am therefore happy enough with my efforts given the short period of time I had to work with after being asked to help. Several ex-Crayford stalwarts who were contacted in addition to those who attended, responded that they couldn't be present for a variety of reasons. Finally, before anybody asks, I feel sure I would have contacted 'Trap 1' if firstly I knew who he was and secondly had contact details.
  17. 4.30pm Raceday Weather Update: Everything A1 tickety boo as far as the weather is concerned so, as some bloke once said apparently, come on down! First junior race 7.30pm
  18. EARLY(ISH!) MORNING RACEDAY WEATHER CHECK: The sun has got its hat on Hip hip hip hooray The sun has got its hat on and the Vortex Lakeside Hammers will be coming out to play! Tonight at 8pm against Rosco and his rockin Robins from Wiltshire The hugely popular youngsters will be out racing prior to the main event at 7.30pm so don't leave getting to the Arena until the last minute. NO problems with the weather anticipated according to the met office so see ya later one and all.
  19. Wishing I was at Swindon!

  20. Full Kent Speedway press release on the club's official website at: http://www.kentkings.co/ and further news under relevant topic in National League section.
  21. Full details, including names of ex-Crayford riders (10 so far) attending for meeting sponsors Crayford reunion, can be found at: http://www.kentkings.co/ Alas Les Ott, Paul Woods (in Aussie for his son's wedding), Johnny Hooper, Pete Thorogood, Dave Shepherd (lives in South Africa) and George Barclay can't make it whilst efforts continue to contact the likes of: Andy Galvin, Paul Bosley (mobile no. Crayford fans have is incorrect), Keith Pritchard, Mick Pither, Mike Broadbank, Mike Bessent, Kevin Teager, Jack Bibby, Ben Howe (who was Crayford's mascot as a young 'un) etc. Anyone with any contact details for them, please send me a PM.
  22. Alas can't get a lift to be at Blunsdon tonight so will be glued to live updates! Hope it's a good meeting (sure it will be!) with no injuries.
  23. Have you read the title of the topic Mr. H?
  24. If there are ANY ex-Crayford riders reading this unaware of the above event taking place at Central Park , Sittingbourne at the Invicta Pairs meeting next Monday, please PM me asap. Bryn Williams
  25. Surely that's pure speculation on your part isn't it "gustix?' Each to their own as they say though but personally I find car racing boring.
