You can down a litre of whisky at any given time when over the age limit, but you must face the consequences of doing so, and they might be illegal. For instance: Drinking before driving, no matter how many hours inbetween last drink and the turn of the key, and not getting rid of the alcohol in your blood is illegal no matter if the booze is legal. Darcy blew it (no pun intended) and must face the punishment. Letting him ride pending the judgement is ridiculous.

Why is Korneliussens suit pink were it should be white? Some red nickers in with the laundry? -

Congatulations to Denmark! What a finish by NKI, he's awesome! -
It has been a helluva night with Oz and Sweden neck 'n' neck, but that ruling from the ref was horrid! It's speedway, not the World Knitting Championship! I'm fuming! Well, bring on the last four.

Neck 'n' neck between Sweden and Australia, with USA as the upsetters, and the odd win or second by Czech Republic. There are probably more pre-sold tickets for the final, and it's staged in the weekend. The main racing event should be the final, and host nations shouldn't be seeded through.

Still think Denmark will win it, but it's gonna be a close call. Looking forward to the race-off and think it'll be tight between Sweden and Aussie. Will Darcy choke again? Will AJ keep winning? And that awfull Joker rule to spoil it. Hancock will stir it up, but USA can't come through on just one rider. Cz will have the odd win or second, but will be left at the back. -

Denmark won't have it easy, but I truly believe they have the strongest and most consistent team. And it would benefit the exitement of the Race-Off if they win. Sweden/USA/Australia/Latvia could be a killer:) -

Shouldn't be all bad. Some heavy showers in the afternoon maybe, followed by sun, and a nice temperature aswell according to this site: http://www.klart.se/väder-västervik.html?v=per_timme -
Danish Swc Team

Danes straight through, and if not they'll top the team in the race-off. Can't ever imagine a final without Denmark, and having money on them to win, I hope they'll finish on top. -
I think his merrits speak on his behalf: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Hancock#World_Final_Appearances . You simply are world class when attending every GP in history, plus the two World Championships before the GP's. He has a 25 years long career in Europe, and is currently world #2 and in battle for #1 at an age of 44. He might not be the most cut-throat rider in the world, but his name will be remembered for a long, long time.

2014 European Speedway Championships

Good meeting, although Eurosport cut it in half here, starting the broadcast at heat 13! Utter disgrace! Why bother sending it live when they cut the meeting in half? I'd rather watch a recording from heat 1. Ah, well... Speedway comes last in priorities again. What a shocker... Enough moaning, and yet again: Good meeting, and I enjoyed that startline. Very special. The tapes should've gone up properly though. -
A translation from Gundersen would go like this: "There's no doubt that Nicki is the target of a smear campaign just now. Nicki is a hard, tough rider, who occasionally ride on the legal limit, and therefore ends up on the wrong side, naturally, but he's neither worse nor better than most of his competitors, as far as this is concerned." About the incident, he sais this: "Nicki dives into a hole on the inside, where Zagar himself opens up at the entrance to turn three. It's tough racing, Nicki hits Zagar and is rightfully excluded, and that should be the end of it." Gundersen also reminds people that speedway is a contact sport, even though not compared to stock-car racing. "It's not like there should be sparks flying, but some shoulder- and elbow action is part of the sport" One thing Gundersen is tired of was the incidents in the pit. "Violence doesn't belong anywhere, and Zagars behaviour in the pits should have major consequences, but unfortunately other rules obviously apply to the stars from the ones we follow daily."

Great meeting. Hope we get more like this. Started of fine with NZ (which have been boring earlier on) over to Bydgoszcz, and then a drop in Finland and Prague, but now in Målilla it's back on track with good racing and entertainment. The NP and Zagar incident is blown way out of porportions. What's all this talk of banning? First on Smolinski with yellow cards and whatnot, and now just for an over heated argument. Zagar hit first, Nicki kicked, they had a scruff in the pits, got fined, and now it's time to move on. It's not time to let the sport get whimpy like footbal. The Nichols/Sayfudtinof fight was more hands-on. Did they get a ban? Vaculik gave Lindren or the Officials the finger in last years ESC, and had this been footbal, he'd probably get a ridicolus fine or a ban.

31/05 Prague Speedway Gp

Just watched a recording of the meeting. Utterly boring. I started fast forwarding after two laps in many races. The commentators have a grueling job trying to maintain "excitement" through the laps. I might turn a boring meeting into a drinking game next time: A shot for whenever they say"pushing haaard", and nothing happenes, or wiggle a bit to the sound of "How on earth did he stay on the bike there". I should be completely blasted after six or seven heats. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the commentators, but it just seems so strained when trying to bring action in where there is none. Bring on Målilla, and let's get, if not a splendid race, at least a decent one. -

Results from Round 3 in Kristiansand: http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/matchresultat/3558/ Seems they are mixing it up good when it comes to who rides where... Nice to see the Raugstad name back on the chart. Too bad he didn't race in the two previous rounds. -

Starsveen, Fredriksen and Sundvor I definetly know took the step up from 80cc to 500cc. Frankly I don't know how they juggle riders around, but as long as there are four riders at the startline each heat I don't care. He can't ride for both teams the next rounds, since they've skipped a round each. Remi Ueland was always an Elgane rider, and as for Sola I don't know. I miss Rune Sola and Patrick Herold in Riska. Mikke Bjerk was team manager for Oslo, and is not in any fixtures for Vojens either, so I guess he has quit racing. As for Thomas Gunnestad, I don't know. -
Beautiful weather this weekend, and the two first rounds in Norway completed. I went to Riska yesterday, and Elgane today. Today I missed out on the five first heats due to a record attemt with some electric cars blocking traffic . Ah, nevertheless... The new yongsters produced some good racing, although the age and experience span is way to big in Norway, so you look forward to certain heats in the programme. I hope the youngsters will evolve into world class riders, and maybe we could see a national team in acouple of years? Fingers crossed. In Norway we have six teams in the league. Five teams ride in each meeting, and one sits out one time each. Anyway, here are the results: Riska 24th of may: 1. Elgane MK 34 Lasse Fredriksen 2,3,2,1,1,1 Espen Sundvor 2,0,3,3,3 Glenn Moi 3,3,3,2,2 2. Grenland SMK 26 Kenneth K. Smith 1,2,1,2,0 Emil Andre Omsland 0,R,2,3,0 Benny Johansson 1,3,3,2,3,3 3. What a boring meeting. My mind drifted of many times, and I had to rewind the recording (alhtough I don't know now why I even bothered).

Great meeting. Exiting all the way through.
