  1. Don't think dogs are allowed, saw a guy being escorted off premises with his dog last week.
  2. Hi All Took the dog for a walk yesterday along the Lea and around the Rye House, so thought it rude not to have a quick nose. Walking in from the car park you'd be hard pushed to notice any change, car park still resembles the surface of the moon, ticket office is still there. However a quick peek through the main gate you can see plenty of progress. The long-bar bike shop is taking shape and a digger was demolishing the wooden stand . Very muddy and plenty of plant there. Long way to go. Not surprised car park left until last as all the plant going back n forth... but overall progress !
  3. Thoroughly enjoyed tonights meeting up to Heat 14. The Karger win was just amazing, kept thinking Masters would reel him in but full credit to him he held off Sam for a storming win. Crowd went mad ! Thats why speedway is such a great sport. At the break I looked at the forthcoming heats and predicted a Monarchs win, based on the rider form they were looking strong. Great last surge from the Rockets - well done 3pts. But what were they thinking re heat 15 ?
  4. Its an interesting and brave decision to go ahead, sky is bright sunny and warm right now but no matter how many weather sites I look at there is a band of heavy rain moving east across the country. I can't see how thats gonna miss us, we might get away with it until 15:00 and then from 16:00 its heavy all the way through to 19:00. Trust they will scrap the parade and get stuck into the racing. Gonna be tight. Who will be far enough ahead after heat 10 ?
  5. Agree , a promising start to the season, well done to Robbo and all the team. Fingers and feet still numb ! Good to see the track improvements taking shape, sure there were teething problems (starting tapes) but I feel confident things will come together.
  6. New logo and colours appear to Orange and Black, just like the cars. No more yellow and blue. Just notice the Rye House website has been revamped to match.
  7. Looking forward to this and really hoping weather will be kind. As Shadders says rain all night and morning (at times heavy) drying out at 13:00 and then remaining dry all afternoon. As we don't have the luxury of covers maybe putting back the start a few hours ?
  8. Pississtently chucking it down in Broxbourne. Reckon its gonna be a rain off.
  9. Often wondered why the air fence was blue on the sides and yellow on top. Maybe they cocked up the order ? Riders stood out more against the yellow. I think riders on the winners parade lap often look fed up and rarely look happy unless its the away team. I guess last nights heat 15 balls-up must have taken its toll. Its a real shame Garrity has switched-off at Rye, I have enjoyed his development over the previous 2 years and remember him being a very enthusastic rider. Chatting to his granddad about his history and development you got the impression he was over the moon to ride for Rye. Now his focus is elsewhere, things change. Have to agree re above views of look of Rockets 2015 - Edward Anders Olly Luke , has his moments but all too infrequent. Time for a change but I doubt it will happen. Steve Boxall, seems to be the same old story - talent but no consistent machinery. Sort that out then an asset worth keeping, but say that year on year. Jason Bunyan, won't be back even if asked. Garrity - would like him to stay if he had the commitment and interest he used to have. However I think he has already left... Always enjoy my Speedway (Workington match aside ) even if there is nothing to play for. Lets avoid last bottom of the table.
  10. Enjoyed last night as too did some first time guests I took. Agree with all above, the team looked more engaged and the atmosphere amongst the crowd more positive. Rather like the mid-week fixture, would like to see more of them.
  11. Would be great to have Anders back, I like Stefan but hasn't had much of a chance yet to show his true ability and Bel Vue fixture clashes are a pain. Yes its all too late but at least it may make visits more entertaining....
  12. I keep typing my thoughts and feelings then deleting....lets just say what a shambles. So lets focus on the fact there was no white wine in the bar, it was a bad start to the night - Mrs not happy.
  13. 2 miles from the track and we have had a shower or two, but dried out already. Getting darker again but looks like it could go either way.... I reckon it will be on but will be touch n go. Unfortunately I will miss this one.
  14. I'll be there too, much rather watch live sport even if the mother-in-law will be in tow...
  15. Right decision, its been heavy rain since 7:25 still going strong.
