  1. I'm not sure how the BSPA apply ancestry or what proof they need. A settlement visa is just a leave to remain. You hold your original nationality with a visa added in your 'what ever' passport and you will ahve had to jump through many many hoops to get it the probability at his age being that he is a named dependant on a parents visa. I'm sure somebodies private official documentation should not be up for discussion on an open forum. So i'll leave it at that. With regard to the Amateur scene you could check out some of the clubs on the net. Scunthorpe Stoke STR (Southern track riders) Dragons......To name a few Newport Midland league Nothern Junior league Not to mention Coventry Sheffield and others who hold regualar second halves They all genrally have websites which will hopefully answer your questions
  2. In terms of Cameron To be fair if you need a Visa you are not British there is no such thing as the next best thing. You can hold what is called a patriality/Ancestry Visa (grand parents, but not until you are 17. this does not entiltle you to full British Nationality as that has to be your parents (EG Rob Branford) ... In the meantime fair play to the lads both brenton and Cameron are turning out in Amateur meetings and second halves and gaining track knowledge and experience. Although, from what I saw of Brenton yesterday at Buxton he could do with a little more competition, no disrespect to the other riders on track at the time, he was managing very well with the track, which was a little tricky yesterday, but sometimes with no or little competition you can look good. Maybe like Cameron he could do with entering 1 or 2 of the Amateur championships where he may meet more opposition. I'm affraid I haven't seen Cameron. Even though he is not allowed to ride in the NL Could he maybe he be included in the Dudley Golden Hammer to see how he goes or one of the many individual challenges which take place?, at the risk of leaving a Brit out. Riders always look a lot different, as has been said when you are being challenged by 3 other riders.
  3. I supose it's plain simple the supporters wouldnt turn out in force to see the latest Brit rider like they would turn out to see the latest Aussie. Although Jason Garrity is bucking tha trend I've often said that foreign riders should get in the NL and the problem isn't with NL. The problem is with the leagues higher up there are too many Brit riders festering in the NL losing motivation by the day because there is nowhere for them to go and now with the points limit reduction some have found themselves out all together. Are there really that many impressive foreign riders in the PL? the simple truth is that a Brit rider has got to show virtually unbeatable form to get a place and keep it. The thing is that Cameron Heeps was destined to use the NL to get UK track knowledge ready for when he goes into the PL, leaving yet another Brit rider to fester so he can hit the ground running in PL. I say good luck to the chap not many lads would turn that kind of opportunity down and we shouldnt expect him to
  4. I agree It is a toss up between supporting the team and giving into what seem to be seen as unreasonable demands of the promotion. I just wanted to say, when all is said and done, don't forget who is at the bottom of this. The boys have a difficult enough job as it is.
  5. There is only one group of people who suffer when the support stays away and thats not the promoters it's the lads on the track that are giving there all to the sport.
  6. From the BSPA website More tragic news for the young Islander came on 2nd of June, following a short battle with cancer Jean Resch devoted father of John Resch and loving husband of Vivienne, passed away at home. Jean had dedicated the last 6 years to enabling John to be a speedway rider. Mechanicing, supplying his equipment and teaching him how to care for his bikes. Jean was a perfectionist and always wanted to make sure John was turned out immaculately. He was very skilled and talented man and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Everyone from Isle of Wight speedway send their condolences to John and Vivienne at this very difficult time. __________________________________________________ Our thoughts go out to John and family at this sad time... Apparently he was there chearing on his lad at the IOW a week before what a trooper. RIP The Widman Family
  7. Meeting is off due to waterlogged track :-(
  8. I suppose the final word should be. The whole point of the article was that he was out of the team he had had his chance and was going to be replaced which would have meant he would not have had today...:-)
  9. Riders are still human beings...but I take your point anyway none of us know whether Nic was affected.. I was just putting my point of view.
  10. Where as I appreciate the need for teams to be competitive and making changes to line ups is an essential part of this but.... Did Nick really deserved to be publicly humiliated in such a way by his team management in the SS this week. Just a couple of lines normally does it .........has been replace by...... We thank him for his services is the normal format. Team Management are generally very supportive of their team members, publicaly If nick is lucky enough to get another team how long will that take to get out of his system before he can start building himself up to perform. Apart from Matt Wright, not sure what he is doing now, Nick was the only one who was not snapped up from the old Mildenhall. Maybe I am the only one who has taken offence from the article and if that is the case I'l admit I am wrong I am not a huge officianado when it cmes to speedway and sometimes struggle to understand the why's and wherefors but I'm not sure this lad deserved this.
  11. Will there be any updates for this meeting???
  12. There is a lot going on in the second half meeting department, good quality 6 heat meetings....... Coventry-Sheffield-leicester-birmingham. I aplogies for any I may have missed out. If you know of anymore you may want to post. So watch this space.... Rome wasn't built in a day unfortunatley these are not going to yield over night but in a couple of years time who knows.
  13. Excellent I hope many more take the plung..... Seriously though. There is always the option of making the NL Amateur like I believe they have in Denmark only the top league gets paid, if my research has not failed me, but then the step up to premier league machinery would be to great for the riders to withstand. The riders do have to pay heavily to compete in Amateur meetings in Fuel and entry fees so at least the clubs could maybe cover that.
  14. I've started a new topic so as to not hijack a meeting thread I know this argument has been churned over and over. it is probably right up there with the Aussies in British Speedway Unfortunatley with a sizeable amount of the 'big boys' being from overseas chances for the young brits are getting less and less. I actually think it is very sad to see Chris Harris the lone Brit in the GP and if Tai goes back in I believe he will go in as an Australian. These boys need the support if they are to get anywhere and that support needs to be for the NL. There are some very exciting prospects coming up who are just making that leap. Howarth Garrity Knight Morris, to name but a few. People will flock to see these boys if they make it to the higher leagues. So why not now? I have seen a couple of meetings this year and haven't seen any wobblers yet. I know Ryan from Buxton has come in for a little criticism but this time last year Richie Worrall was in the same position infact I think It was this time last year that I saw him in the Novice class at the Stoke Amateur meeting he is now in the PL and notching up a fair few points in league meetings and in individual meetings I do hope Jane and Jack keep the faith to see how he goes on over the season. It is possible we wont get any answers as the relevant supporters probably don't come on this section of the forum and the people that come already do. The sizeable crowd that Dudley attract and Mildenhall. I think are there to support the relevant clubs not necessarily National League racing. Had Leicester entered in the National League instaed of the premier league they may have just as much support. Where I have been slightly suprised though is the high level of support who stay to watch second half racing both at Leicester and at Coventry, and I'm sure the lads are extremely greatful for that, and these are all PL EL supporters. There can be some wobblers at these events as that is the whole point so maybe they think that that is the level of racing they will get in the NL. If that is the case then someone needs to put them right. There doesnt seem to be anything in the way of supporters clubs in the national league some of the stand alones have but the second teams normally tag onto the senior team set up maybe there would be an answer.
  15. Once all the DVDs have been sold it would be good to put it in the BSPA site as maybe clip of the week as it sounds like an excellent advert for NL. This could go a long way to promote the league and show supporters of higher leagues how good it can be.
  16. My concern is for the (NL) section of the Forum but I take your points Tina
  17. You were obviously at a completley different meeting to me I thought the crowd was quite good although quite spread out....... Well done to Scott Richardson who had a brilliant night and Lewis Blackbird held his own for his team mates. I do hope Joe jacobs finds his form again soon Best of luck Joe. What I do believe is that this section of the Forum is dying off, as very few people seem to want to comment anymore, and I think it is posts like this that are signing it's deat warrant to be honest. Tina Widman
  18. You are quite right well done those boys. The Colts did miss Jason and I'm sure they will be the first to admit it. Byron once again led from the front though he and Kyle who also did very well were a little unlucky in Ht 15. They were also hampered by the fact that they had to run 3 races on 3 riders as 3 rides had to be allocated to Jason that was a shame it may have been closer, had that not have been the case. Don't be too hard on the Hawks, they are allowed to have good days and bad days and I'm sure all involved have learned from today. Well done to Shane You have to give credit where credit is due, no matter what side you are on.
  19. At least Oli has a place, with the points limit coming down, there are a fair few riders who find themselves out in the cold at the moment. I do feel for you and him and hope he goes onto to do well for kings lynn there certainly seems to be alot of positive comments on the Kings Lynn thread. I'm not sure that these public rantings are terribly helpful to the sport particularly NL who are fighting for every spectator and the spectators are entitled to their opinion somrtimes its not easy to read.If it upsets you that much maybe stay away from the forum. Keep plugging away and I'm sure you will both get there in the end.
  20. You go lads give it your all C'mon The Colts
  21. Surely the criteria to be an under 21semifinalist is to be under 21. Standard doesn't come into it, apart from the selection process dictating the highest averaged riders are seeded through. I do think it is quite sad that all under 21's are unable to take part and the competion has been subject to a selection process. Best of luck to all the boys I'm sure they will give their all !!!!
  22. Do we know who the NL team is???? For workington
  23. I also hope you do for many years to come and as an Upper Claptonian currently estranged in the midlands I could find my loyalties severly tested if my son were to ride against you
  24. I stand corrected, and and my apologies go to paul. Had this been the only reference to kindergarden, second rate or mickey mouse events which have been mentioned on here recently I probably wouldn't have bothered but for both riders and the supporters, of these events, I think they maybe anything but(my opnion). I have to admit to what I know about speedway you could write on the back of a postage stamp (seriously). I'm sure everybody would like to see their own team league racing again. Just because you are not league racing doesn't make it any less worthy. Tina Widman
