We have had 3 seasons of PL at BP and there are a lot of people wanting EL maybe it's time they had their wish. If it's the right or wrong thing only time would tell. There are a lot of Lions fans who have supported Cov or Peterboro in the years Leicester was closed and they know the EL inside out so aren't complete novices (or woolly eyed) as some people seem to call them . Finance isn't my problem. It maybe the right thing to do it may be the wrong thing but one thing is for sure in business you have to take risks and you wont know till you try.

Yes I think we have established that now and that wasn't my point?
-
That is what I said the implication was he was. How can a team openly 'drop' a rider but leave them in the 1 - 7 and bring guests in.!!! Before I get blasted I know the rules allow it but does that make it right?
-
Surely if you support Leicester you would go to Leicester if you support Cov you would go to Cov what difference does it make?. For the few stragglers who may make their way over to either. With Birmingham - Cov - Wolves - Leicester and to a lesser extent Peterboro being in the same vicinity surely away fans would would make up for that anyway. 5 of the 8 teams don't seem to have GP riders anyway. I would just point out though that I'm not a fan of joining the EL anyway .

Friday could be a good night :-) It would still appeal to the families.Lakeside seem to manage

Maybe Coles has been 'rested' to bring Phillips in. Although, I did think Phillips had signed for Mildenhall but on close inspection of the press release it has been quite sneakily written (No mention of signing) http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.22295

Mildenhall V Iow - Re-aranged Now 24/10
TMW replied to Great Central's topic in National League Speedway
Meeting at Mildenhall off due to weather(again) Re staging this Sunday at 3.30pm -
And of course he would know. Why else would he still be a mere start marshall
-
Yes. I suppose we will need to wait for the league fixtures for meaningful meetings. However the way the EL does seem to run it does seem to be a taste of things to come as there are a lot of guests from what I can see. Especially if you want European riders. I am pleased that the promotion to the EL if it happens, shows sign of stability and longevity but worry for those getting excited about the meetings at BP being GP re runs and from what I've seen at Cov this season, I haven't been to any other EL fixtures this year, that is very much not the case. and we end up with a whole new line of moaning I hope they go into it with open minds
-
I suppose having to re run the whole thing again is probably a bit extreme. Did I hear on Sky about 'Golden heats'? Maybe that could have been an option
-
DH gave the strongest indication tonight on the regional news that the Lions would be an EL team next year.

Probably because most people will be stopping at home to watch Eurosport.? but I suppose they will have to come up with a reason. Who can blame them

King's Lynn V Mildenhall - 2nd October 2013
TMW replied to Mimmo's topic in National League Speedway
and I'm sure Kerr has done his fair share. Is any move dirty it's a fast testosterone adrenaline filled sport what do some people expect. You're damned if you don't give it a go and you're damned if you do -
Dudley Heathens V Kings Lynn Young Stars P/o Final 08/10/13
TMW replied to therefused's topic in National League Speedway
Sorry just thought for a final which you have a good chance of winning on current form(nothing being taken for granted) I thought I'd call it that -
That applies to the shape but I'm sure the surface could do with a little tidying up, which I'd say it could do with.

Dudley Heathens V Kings Lynn Young Stars P/o Final 08/10/13
TMW replied to therefused's topic in National League Speedway
I'm surprised that Dudley didn't insist on having the 2nd leg at Dudleywood but I suppose it's better to go into an away meeting knowing the home lead -
To be fair it was no longer a must win meeting for 6th place.. Any comparison is futile if you ask me !!!!!!!!!

So if we are to accept that 'rules is rules' why can't you accept that Robert is riding abroad and if teams want him, with the restrictions he has to impose on them and all, then. Does it matter the class of rider he rides against he obviously feels he is going to gain the more experience in the veernoord meeting than at Mildenhall. It is no different to Kerr being at Newcastle or Worrall/Rose being at their respective PL clubs which if Lambert were old enough he also would have higher league commitments. Give it a rest will you. If want to see him 'develop into a world class rider' then get yourself booked onto the ferry to the continent.

What is a shame is that he Ian't considered mature enough to ride in higher leagues here

Redcar V Newcastle Pl Play Off Thursday 26th September
TMW replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Especially if Rye House stuff them tomorrow and drop to 7th I suppose the question is. Did Redcar win or did Newcastle lose ? -
Over 21 if you are a brit !!!!!
-
It wasn't cheering it was clapping as if they felt their rider had been aggrieved and Ben was getting his just deserts (probably because he got a great gate and the referee pulled it back). That is why I raised it as an issue, which is wrong.
-
I know they were probably only doing it as an automatic reaction to Morley being excluded and that meant a better chance of points for their riders but it was bad!!!!!
