King's Lynn V Lakeside 9-4-14
TMW replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wasn't the switch just tactics though to give Ben and Bridger a 3rd ride and give Ellis the opportunity to score in the easier heats?. Is this not just going to damage Ben's confidence?. Once again we are seeing meetings being rescued by reserves because of under performing main body. Good for Adam's confidence but what's it doing for Ben's? Get rid of Bridger. That would soon wake him up. He just seems to be handed team spots on a plate so how is he going to learn complacency is such an unattractive look . -
Well I think last night at Kings Lynn may have silenced the critics. They may say that the riders on show would have been EL anyway but....Would they? Lets hope the rest get going in time it's all good to see

They were missing the gate last night just some how were passing the YS if you read the updates. How it happened is a mystery Particularly Rose and Hughes -

To be fair that team probably wouldn't do much in the PL and maybe they don't want to get into paying airfares, accommodation and vans for riders and would the supporters go for £15.00 a meeting? If they kick on this season maybe they could join this year and just have to add a number 1. I do hope so -
Not from me. It was a racing incident I always felt that MPT was an innocent bystander. In fact, I felt the track was at fault as it was too dusty I said at the time I had to move so as not to get my drink filled in. Auty was naughty that day both in the race and after. You're always going to see things differently dependant on which rider you support. I like Richard Hall and I like Ben Barker so when they are involved in these kind of things I suppose I will always see the other side of the Story

One thing you can't take away from the CH fans is the support your riders get through good times and bad and that is so refreshing in this day and age -
I was there and the actual problem was MPT bringing up the rear and riding over Ingalls after Auty had knocked him off. That said, is it maybe time that dangerous riding was penalised? Unfair play is penalised in football. Maybe the equivalent of a penalty. Auty does seem to be on the end of a lot of crashes and then maybe riders wouldn't get frustrated. I don't call that exciting either and if RG thinks it is then it's a sad day for the sport. Surely passing should be executed like we saw on the GP on Sat Pederson lining up Holder and waiting his time, that was perfect. Not riders barging through and hoping for the best.If thats not what you are looking for then head for your nearest Demolition Derby. No Hall shouldn't have done it then again, we expect these riders to be aggresive on the bikes but if they show any sign of this off the bike woe be tied.

Leicester V Kent Kings - National Trophy - 6/4/14
TMW replied to blueherb777's topic in National League Speedway
Adam Portwood got injured in an MDL meeting last week but I don't think he had been asked. Geary is a question to be fair and as I said before I hope he gets his chance in forth coming meetings. -

I was impressed with Morley on Fri at Lakeside. He really seems to be pushing on now. It still baffles me how he hasn't got a PL team place again this season. -

They are called the Leicester Lion cubs not leicester Select. Where I agree that it is difficult to grasp the 'Trophy only' concept I hope it is a success. Tom Wooley is probably the closest thing to local. It would have been good to see Lee Geary in the side but with Buxton not starting their season till late Tom could probably do with the match practice but I hope Geary gets his chance. As for Shanes he started at Leicester (practice) but Coventry could offer him the NL place last year so it doesn't take a genius to work out who won that battle. Leicester need to build up an asset base if the draft system is to be continued and therefore need to dip their toe in the NL water and slowly learn the 'NL' trade. There would have been no point in including riders who the Leicester fans were unaware of. D Greenwood and O Greenwood have both ridden there in MDL finals and Sarjeant - Perry - Clegg have all ridden for the Lions. So plenty of connections with the club. A little bit rich coming from a Cradley supporter but...... Who do you suggest they include? -

At the meeting Hougaard was excluded on the 2 mins as his bike packed up at the start. The manager considered his options one was to put Hougaard off 15 mtrs. What would the other have been? as it was a HL ht and reserves wouldn't have been an option. Does anyone know? Hougaard went off 15 mtrs so we never got to find out what the other one was. -
Good to see the Lions fighting for every point

Don't suppose it matters anyway I thimk the point is they will get better so if you don't watch them you wont see the improvement

14 year olds can ride 500's they just aren't allowed to race against an opponent. Hence why up till now Reece Downes has had his own personal heat in the Scunthorpe amateur meetings and why Robert Lamber had to ride round on his own at RH How is Australia the 'rest' of Speedway?. What do they do in Europe do? -
They are guests. Not strictly speaking true. you are allowed 1 guest for no. 1, 1 guest for 1-5 from other teams (same or lower average than the replaced rider although i'm not sure about that as they are all 3 pointers) any others all have to be unattached 3 pointers. Although they do have a Layne Cuppit and a Scooter Webster declared and they haven't ridden so not sure what's going on there.

I do seem to remember Tatum shouting 'super speedway' a fair few times

I'm sorry can I correct you on that one, I was there, his pit crew are his mum and dad. I believe he has a pit board but maybe his sponsors insist maybe it isn't them. The large contingent I believe you saw were supporters who went. I met them and spoke to them on the ferry. They sat in the stand for the meeting with R Lambert shirts on. I'm not going to comment on what he has said or hasn't said but my dander would be up if I'd had to travel to Germany every weekend when I had a track just down the road. If you ask me maybe British speedway should court them to get Lambert back on side but they probably wont. People talk about Wofenden well I can remember the days when he was actually described as a bit of a arrogant tool, his 1st attempt at the GP, the posts are on this very forum but now he is a hero as he has matured -
OOOOfff You'll be heading for the tower talking like that about the 'good old days'
-
Well maybe it should.

Not all about passing? Really? at leicester we spend our time counting them it's only by gods grace that there aren't that many that we get to actually see the meeting.
