  1. Have to agree first and foremost well done Redcar and also relieved to see Skiddy get up from that terrible crash. The Bears have the base of a very good team and will only get better. As for Sheffield?? Well i had a feeling that this was coming, we are no where near strong enough to cope with R/R HOME and especially away. We have by far the weakest reserves in the league and something has to change for the good of keeping the fans coming through the gate. As for tonight Mickey Dyer - enjoy him Redcar he is definately going places fast, very stylish and best away rider to visit this season without doubt. Summers was class and backed up well by the rest of the bears. Sheffield Steady - Untouchable even by the impressive Dyer, completely in a different league to anyone at Owlerton. Quarter a lap in front every race tonight and could if pushed go quicker. Facu - Bad night at office, im sure he will be disappointed but will come back stronger. Haines - Did ok tonight keeps getting better. Wells - i am not going to jump on his back, just feel Owlerton doesn't suit him but he more than does his job away from home. Koppe - Got to go SIMPLE!! He may be a fantastic Motorcyclist (words from 1 of our management team) thing is it doesn't mean you are any good on a Speedway bike. Knight - Is trying but seemed way off pace tonight, will get the odd points but needs a good reserve alongside him otherwise too much pressure on him.
  2. What a fantastic end to the meeting. The Racing from heat 9 onwards was top drawer the outside line clearly working for those who dare stick there back wheel in it. Workington gave Sheffield a gating masterclass to start with and thats how it was for the first 8 heats. Give both teams credit where credits due we go for the racing and close meetings and it turned out to be a cracker. Tigers will be over the moon with 2 points given where they were early on and in the end Comets will be gutted but still get a point. Steady - finally the class No.1 we needed. Ht.13 simply stunning came from miles back 3rd bend lap 2 to lead bend 2 lap 3 and won by quarter a lap. How he flew round Lawson then switch to inside so quick to fly under Bach was unbelievable. Facu - Quickly becoming a fan favourite, gives his all every lap and what bike control he has. More to come. Haines - was worried after his first 2 races, miles behind then come Ht.9 to pass Bach round the outside and then look fast will only give the lad confidence. Joe will be ok he started slow last year, very much a confidence rider. Hall - quite subdued by his standards until Ht.15!! WOW - i really thought he would have to gate as he wasn't that quick all night and Howarth looking much quicker all over his back wheel in Ht.14.. Where did that come from? Similar to Steady in ht.13 came from miles back to wind it on rounded Lawson bend 2 lap 2 to dive up the inside bend 3 on Howarth. He badly wanted that and fair play to him he has looked much better this season and happier. Wells - i think he rode better than his score suggests. He started riding the outside line with success passing Aarnio well. Not spectacular but he will always get the points Home and Away. Koppe - very worried about him. I am all for giving lads time and opportunity but been watching speedway long enough to realise he will not improve to the required level. He just looks like a novice and awkward. I hate been critical of a rider but if Sheffield have any ambitions of the play offs they need to act soon before its too late. Cannot carry a 5 point rider to this extent. Especially when there's the likes of Sedgemen, Sanchez off top of my head who could fit straight in and facu drop to reserve. Knight - i like him, a real trier and will get better and better. His last 2 rides third places won us the meeting for me as they were more unexpected. Fantastic pass last lap in Ht.12. Keep it up jake. For comets, Lawson started brightly and fast, but tailed off badly once the track improved, Aarnio looked ok same for Harrison. Howarth was easily the fastest rider for comets and very impressive, how wide did he go? thought he was going to bin it every lap, great control. Bach was poor to the 1 i have seen before at Owlerton, looked slow suprisingly, Mills was good when gate and go then tailed off badly similar to Lawson. Morris did nothing after heat 2 win. They will be ok though and should be in playoffs quite easily. Great night again already looking forward to Workington Saturday although i think it will be 3 points to Comets. Will be worth going to watch Steady alone. I remember how he rode there before and if he is anything like that im sure all fans will be in for a treat.
  3. A very cold p&p last night never been so cold. Think Steady will take some beating round Owlerton this season, very smooth and fast he's going to be great to watch this season. Easily the quickest rider on show. Very impressed with Albin, took him a couple of laps to bed in but once he did looked fast and stylish. Not scared to attack the track, think he could be very entertaining. Haines looked good, getting faster all the time as was Wells and Hall although the latter seemed more interested with his longtrack bike?? Thought Knight looked good too, wasnt expecting him to attack the track like he did, looks like he is worth a try. Not sure about koppe, he looked uncomfortuble with the track seemed like his style doesn't suit the track but early days. I agree what has been said before, Albin to ride at reserve and Koppe at 2 so he can bed in although we will tell more once the action starts. Need to hit the ground running this season.
  4. I understand that and i hope they do. All i'm saying is surely its too much of a risk putting 3 assesed riders in the same team with little or no experience of British tracks. Especially now its make or break season for Sheffield.
  5. That's because it is Stead and Haines apart. Cant really blame the 3 new lads on assesed averages its not their fault but how can you put all 3 into a team. 2 have never raced in the Premier League and 1 only as back up guest who in fairness was out of his depth at that time. There is no chance with who is left even if it is North/Wells to be challenging anywhere near the top of this league. Too many teams have put together a strong 7 with little weakness. We will also still have around 1.5 points not used which with this team is crazy. One thing i will predict, this team will NOT get the crowds flowing back into Owlerton.
  6. Great signing, welcome back Steady. If this dont pull the crowds back nothing will. would love this team 1. Stead 2. Haines 3. Gathercole / Skidmore / Poole 4. Wells 5. Grajczonek 6. Koppe 7. Nielsen / Jacobs
  7. Maybe doesn't sound too good now then, on a 3 yes, 5 would be difficult to improve on.
  8. I have heard Koppe would be on 3.00 ave, dont know how true that is but worth a go on that if he is.
  9. Damien Koppe??? Cant see it being a Pole, would like to see one of the young talented Danes.
  10. Polish league 24. Shamek 7.22 32. Miedzinski 6.67 Swedish Elitserien Shamek 7.74 with BP, 7.23 W/O Miedzinski 6.15 with BP, 5.85 W/O Based on these two leagues been much stronger competition Shamek seems the better rider as they both ride in the same leagues. Think it also shows how weak the Elite league is.
