  1. Still feeling absolutely gutted about what happened on Saturday night. Really enjoyed my visit to Rye House; right up until that dreadful heat 15, the feeling went from joy of watching a great team performance to sick feeling in my stomach in a instance. The crash was one of the worst I have ever witnessed. I had my 6 year old daughter crying as I tried to explain to her why she couldn't see Simon as usual after the meeting, just horrible. Hope he has a speedy recovery and already looking forward to seeing him back in Sheffield in the not too distant future. Let's not forget the injuries sustained by Boxall and Bellego, get well soon guys.
  2. 1 thing is for sure, Baby Bjerre gave Steady a fright in ht.13 and nearly had him, what a race passing and what a move by Simon to switch back and take the win. Think he took that on board for ht.15 and was typical Steady an inch off the air fence and flying a quarter a lap in front!!!!!
  3. Ye, laughing 3 pts whether we won by 7 or 30 don't matter!! Winning is winning!! Onwards and upwards 👍
  4. The track was prepared the only way possible tonight due to stock cars and the bad weather from previous 3 days. All dirt taken off to get the meeting on! Steady wanting a slick track??? Ye right; only one of the best riders ever around Owlerton in the dirt without doubt... Agree though the track was sheite tonight; the times suggest this!! Hard fought win for us, especially losing Bates early on and Andre's nightmare of a meeting!! Redcar did well, Bjerre always good value around here so too Skidmore... Hope the track is back to normal next week as it was 1 line only. Well done to Arthur too 6+3 in second meeting and on pace, will take a while but signs look good
  5. Looking forward to the new season, hope to see more of this; www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aoo7v6Mwh8
  6. Which year would that have been when he won it?
  7. got a feeling Poole is next reading Bates Twitter page. 😄
  8. Great start to team for 2015, looks promising. Would love to see Proctor, Poole, Roynon/Covatti, Bates as the final 4. Apparently Poole is recovering well from the injury and hopes to be fit for start of season. Would be very strong at home.
  9. Think the following team would be great to watch and hard to beat at home. If it fits... Stead Compton Wolbert / Bellego Poole Proctor Roynon / Covatti Bates
  10. Think the following team would be great to watch and hard to beat at home. If it fits... Stead Compton Wolbert / Bellego Poole Proctor Roynon / Covatti Bates
  11. I agree he is 1 of the best youngsters we have, uk wise... The way Speedway is at minute, an asset means what?? Virtually nothing. Also it was always going to happen for obvious reasons!!
  12. Good move but wouldn't exactly call it BIG news. Why keep it quiet for 2 days?
  13. Stead 9.33 Compton 4.36 Bjerre 7.44 / Alden 7.37 Vissing 6.89 / North 6.55 Roynon 7.81 Albin 3.62 Koppe/Greenwood/Bates 3.00 Would be a very entertaining team and be 99% certain this line up would be unbeatable at home.
  14. i would love to see Roynon back, he is fantastic to watch round Owlerton. Maybe Andre as well on that average.
  15. Think Roynons average is less than that. Sure I read it's around 6.34 somewhere, still a decent looking team.
  16. Would love to see Stead, Lawson, Roynon, Compton and Albin for next year. Work the other 2 round them maybe Josh Bates who looks promising or James Sargeant dito, not sure what average that would leave based on 41.5 maybe 5 pts?
  17. I would guess/hope it is Compton who is coming in. Looked fast and stylish last night practising. Maybe just who we need to bring the crowds back. Stead and Compton same team again? 2 x Owlerton legends
  18. I shall be saving my £32 until this team changes. Absolutely no fight from some and just not good enough others. Crowds are dropping fast and will continue to do so until something is done. Really missing Steady although the guests have done well. Plymouth sign Mikkel Bech awesome! We will get someone like Jakobsen or Sanchez. No ambition any more it seems. Bring in the riders and the crowds WILL come back.
  19. Firstly I do not have a problem with Neil Machin I think he has done wonders for Sheffield Speedway and gave us a team to be proud of majority of the time. I do feel time as Sheffield promoter maybe coming to a end especially as the crowds have dropped dramatically over the last 2 years. I think you will find that MANY Sheffield fans don't take to Hoggart very well. He doesn't take constructive critisism good and some of his press releases you have to wonder does the guy know what he is talking about. I hate to point fingers and all that but I'm afraid all I care about is Sheffield Speedway and I feel we have been in decline since he came in. Yes we had a good team in 2011 and didn't win anything but we wasn't in trouble then with crowd levels. I just don't want us to shut down and have no racing at all. I hated no speedway from 88 - 91 and would hate this to happen again.
  20. It appears that Machin has lost his way or interest in Speedway and I think it shows as he rarely writes a piece anywhere no more. Seems to have handed most the responsibility over to Hoggart which is proving to be a massive mistake. We have slowly gone downhill since he slid his way into the promotion. Then to makes matters worse he is now joint team manager and both of them can't put 1 good idea together. They are NOT speedway managers!! Changes are needed badly starting with the team manager then the team because if not then I fear we will have no speedway at owlerton at all for us to discuss. Please sort this mess out.
  21. Firstly well done Rye House very entertaining team put together there and had Garrity not got injured we would have been battered yet again. Onto Sheffield I will keep this brief - Pathetic. Cook did his job, Hall was ok but could tell he was struggling a little, the rest below expectation. Over to you Msrs Machin and Hoggart?? Won't hold my breath but I can predict 1 thing if this continues and that is Sheffield will not be running next season. Crowd has already dwindled and will get worse.
  22. I completely agree about getting behind the reserves and while ever they are in a Tigers race jacket I will do so. However Picking the odd point up between the 2 riders is no good and before long we will be out of the running in all competitions. I like to see young riders given a go but I feel for Jake because really he should have a reliable reserve to take the pressure off him but this hasn't been the case. Damien is a big worry and in my opinion needs replacing as soon as the averages allow. He has consistantly looked slow and at Rye he was half a lap behind. When he makes the gate he seems to panic and has been involved in 2 nasty accidents which he was the cause of. He is the only replacement I would make and it looks like we could replace him with a rider between 7 and 8 average. I'm certain bringing in a capable rider of this average will make a huge difference to the team and 1 would expect the promotion to be looking at alternatives now rather than later. 47 43 tonight
  23. Don't worry Facu has been great this season, very exciting he is not my worry. He has started at 2 in the main body of team and for me done very well. Looked down on power last night sure he will put it right.
