  1. But he's right, so how about putting your view forward instead of name calling. I'm first hand evidence of the fact that it doesn't damage like you claim, I've many friends who would testify to this. I'm sorry if you've seen someone close to you have problems with drugs, it's not an easy thing to experience, but you're being unfair in making such sweeping statements. Maybe that person would have taken whichever route they chose whether or not they had used cannabis, had they used anything besides cannabis, did they blame cannabis, who did blame cannabis? Lots of questions, no need to answer, just saying, that's all. Just like the fella said, alcohol causes many more problems in this world than a bit weed ever did, or will. For the record, I'm not a 'free the weed' campaigner of any sort, I'm quite happy just to get on with my own life and leave others to their's but if people like me don't speak up at times like these then too many folk will carry on with their blinkered view of anyone who might enjoy a different type of tipple to their own particular favourite. Each to their own. thanks for listening
  2. Don't even think about apologising mate, your posts in this thread have been a revelation, exactly what forums should be about, people sharing their views. It's great to have someone who clearly knew a bit about what was going on back then, it's not about the headlines, we've all seen those over the years, it's the incidental stuff, tales from the pits etc. Thanks for giving us the insight.
  3. What's the main issue with the polyfoam, expense, storage, or something else? Obviously it's right that improvements are constantly sought with regard to safety but we've come a long way from just having boards, thankfully .
  4. Well done Emil, sign of a champion is when they can come back from what looked like an off night and take the spoils, great ride. He must be heading for the sort of status Gollob has held in Poland for so many years. Being a national hero in Russia will probably eclipse anything TG has experienced, such a vast nation, good luck to the lad All in all not a bad meeting, good to see a different track/stadium, no real complaints with the coverage, I really like Scott Nicholls style, Steve Day is learning all the time, I can live the odd errors, lets face it none of us could do better, or we'd be doing it.
  5. Seeing the crowd shots it so good to see so many families there, creating supporters of tomorrow, looks a really well promoted venue, would love to attend a meeting there.
  6. I think we've done well tonight, I mean the thread has pretty much stayed on topic right through until heat 20, lets all congratulate each other before it kicks off big time I'm not a big fan of cars but that Audi R8 ad does have a certain appeal, want one.
  7. Don't be so pompous, I wasn't aware of his title, otherwise I would have laughed at your joke.
  8. Well pray tell us all which utopia you watch your speedway in, I mean where do you go to find 15, 20, or even 22 heats of close, exciting speedway with more passes in every race than you could shake a stick at, where you could throw a proverbial blanket over all 4 riders for all 4 laps. Go on you miserable soul, share the secret of speedway heaven. You either know nothing about the sport or you're on the wind up, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and congratulate you on reeling me in, well done.
  9. Is that your customary comment for the night? Bang on time. Dull indeed.
  10. Ok thanks. These cameras are something else in terms of the quality of view they give, really impressed.
  11. Exactly, it's almost speedway every Saturday at the moment, loving it. This season could have been so so different for those of us who watch the coverage. Long may it continue.
  12. Woffinden was brilliant there to dive under Pedersen, did a Nicki on Nicki. Seemed to lose something off the back of his bike on bend 3/4, good ride Tai.
  13. Hans Andersen, brilliant, he'd done ever so well and then blew it with his final word, classic.
  14. I'm all for ensuring that the starts are fair and it's quite right they bring them back when someone gets a jump but surely they should bring the start girls out on track each time, surely to God.
  15. Mine too, I'm using skygo and it's athletics or tennis on Eurosport. Might need a stream please..
  16. You're a braver man than me, I've used the other unique one for ages but every time I have a peep at the dual grid version I feel it's too much, each to their own though. I'm sure we're all very grateful to Paul and anyone else for making the effort, improves my evenings speedway by around 25% I reckon. Wouldn't dream of attending a meeting and not having a programme, whether included in the admission fee or not.
  17. Now this thread really has bitten the dust, everyone knows Jesus couldn't gate, you bring him into a thread about the flying hairpin. Where next???
  18. I see what you did there Sidney, brilliant mate, just brilliant.
  19. As with alcohol it depends on who is using it, if someone says it's harmless it's probably because they've not seen or personally experienced any problems with it, like me for example. I maintain it's harmless because that's my own experience, I don't say it 'flippantly'. Having 'moved' amongst regular users for the past 25yrs I can say with my hand on my heart I have never seen anyone have a problem with cannabis use. If it has impaired my life in any way it would be that I always used it with tobacco, I smoked cigs since I was 9y/o so cannabis wasn't the pathway to smoking. Using a loosely based comparison with alcohol I would put cannabis alongside shandy. Obviously there are those that will move on to other drugs, just like those that step up their alcohol intake from the odd shandy, you can't change human nature and that's where the problem lies, not with the substance. Anyway, seeing as this thread is about Michael Lee, good luck to him, I hope life works out ok for him, what a shame that someone thought it ok to report him to the police over a little bit of nothing, he must have upset someone a tad.
  20. Great ride, well done Niels, fully deserved. Can't believe you stuck around til the end.
  21. This meeting/venue has had it's detractors and rightly so, it doesn't produce good racing as a rule but tonight I reckon the riders have excelled themselves and really given it a go, virtually all of them have mixed it at some point or other. The 2 semi finals were exciting, here's hoping for a spectacular final to cap it off. As for the coverage, no complaints, I reckon Eurosport have a decent mix at the moment, leave well alone and let it develop.
