  1. What is it with you, why so meddlesome, is it boredom, frustration? Either way give it a rest you sad old man.
  2. Not a question but thanks for taking the time to put together the site, I've found my way to it a few times when looking for a bit of info on one rider or another. I'm even more impressed that you took the time to reply to some of the bile being spewed by the OP and his trusty sidekick.
  3. Can't help with the scores I'm afraid but thanks for the post, it was enough to take me back to some of the many trips to The Shay me and my dad made back in the day. We very rarely missed the Dukes away because, like us, they rode on Saturdays as a rule. We always stood near the apex of the first turns and the view was spectacular, proper Yorkshire announcer. As for Mike Hiftle, when he was at Belle Vue he had some very smart blue leathers but he seemed to suffer too many engine failures. Am I right in thinking he did better at Halifax when he moved?

  5. The pair of you are a disgrace to the forum, why the names? 26 & I have been happy for years, we've never needed names, #tetraphobe!
  6. It was good when Terry Thomas & Leslie Phillips were in it, ding dong. Whenever I catch a bit of it on tv it just comes accros almost like a computer game, I've never attended an F1 event and I suppose that must make a difference, I know exactly how speedway sounds, smells etc, that helps me to get the most out of it on tv when I watch it. If I'd never attended a speedway track I probably wouldn't bother with it on tv, it's so watered down compared to being there, having the ablility to 'put yourself there' while watching helps immensely.
  7. Who cares Ray, he goes to work in a crash helmet, his ears are ruined for life anyway. In fact, it's crazy that his tattoos etc have become a negative talking point when he does his job covered from head to toe. It's not like he's Tom Daly and goes to work in speedos, is it ladies....
  8. Fair point but what about those of us who may have missed the fact that he wasn't posting, surely we deserve to know that he's not posting. I for one only became aware that he wasn't posting when he said as much edit, he's posting again now
  9. Time to bow out with what little grace you have left gustix, the ladies like Tai, tattoos or not. He's coming across a very decent young man, looking after his mum, thanking all his backers at every opportunity, bloody good luck to him I say. He's not even been World Champion for a week and you seem to have a downer on him, I think you're on your own there old timer.
  10. Well said but lay off the 50's eh For what it's worth I'm one of the converted where Tai's concerned, don't mind admitting I had him wrong, he's a dedicated young professional and deserves all the success that comes his way.
  11. Now we're getting somewhere. It's 2013, the war's over, people are allowed to express themselves.
  12. Wouldn't have happened in your day eh Gustix, men having tattoos, perish the thought.
  13. Slightly off topic but I thought worth posting for those who haven't seen it, short video of Tai preparing his bikes and explaining his future plans, filmed in 2009. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq3HnaQDo-M I had seen it before but forgot all about it, just came across a link to it again on his website http://www.taiwoffinden.com/index.php He was comfortable with the camera at 17, so no surprise he's a natural with these interviews, it's been said before but the lad is definitely marketable to the masses, if only there were a way..
  14. Yes, you have. Thanks for posting it.
  15. Same here for F1, mind-numbing for me, yet my brother loves it, he also watches speedway but I think if he had to forfeit one it would be the speedway. I'm no biker, far from it, but I used to enjoy watching Superbikes when Carl Fogarty was the star of the sport, never missed it for a couple of years, have never bothered since he retired, which sort of backs up the theory that British speedway COULD benefit from Tai's success if the right people were in charge.
  16. Did he win it then? My stream was breaking so badly I gave up. Thanks to you also Alan, although I'm not a frequent visitor here in the anorak section you're always around to provide a link and to keep the chat going.
  17. I'd expect so, probably some sore heads too, must have been great to have been there. Wouldn't know where to put my pound for this one but I do like watching Kolodziej(sp).
  18. Evening Alan, there's still a couple of us around for the cause, is this meeting being screened?
  19. I tend to agree about the boring, I always preferred watching his old mate more when they were both in their pomp. It's just so difficult to find fault with him when he's still doing at his age, just have to admire him. I could watch Ward all day long though, he's just a pure thrill merchant.
  20. I don't know about average but he certainly had no answer to the Pole there, the pass was inevitable. Great GP, great season, brilliant to have a British World Champ again, roll on next season.
  21. You can say what you want Pete but he's British.
