  1. Why does the clueless presenter keep saying an Aussie has won every race they've started? Didn't he see Holder run a last?
  2. As I understand it, this is the last season at the current stadium and there are even attempts afoot to try and get Briggo to ride the very last laps there. What happens then? The timescale is tight to build a new stadium before next season surely? What are the grounds for optimism that this will actually come to fruition?
  3. Absolutely! So good they named hot pants after her.
  4. Exactly. One promoter, I can't remember who, went further and described the 1960's PL as full of 'has-beens and never-weres". That's more derogatory than mediocre but was still largely true nonetheless.
  5. In which case, leave it alone and worry about the wider problems currently afflicting the sport.
  6. Why is it a major problem for speedway? Motor sport in general does not attract ethnic minoriites in any number as competitors or spectators.
  7. Yes, and American. It has no relevance in the UK and frankly is the least of speedway's worries.
  8. They won't be there to be offended by the Rebel flag then.
  9. And a Racers (even if they were Bulldogs by then) play-off nemesis!
  10. Richard Hall's winning ride. Just look how much ground he (blue helmet) makes up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A1F6gg4JO0&feature=youtu.be
  11. Not at all. Legends are made on achievements alone. I'd happily be hated and have 3 titles over being popular with none.
  12. A three-time winner of any motorcycle World Championship is a legend in my book.

  14. An abiding memory of Shazzybird was how proud she always was of her 'Uncle Ted'. RIP.
  15. Well done Richard Hall, Glen Philips and Andrew Appleton and on German soil too!
  16. Nowhere near. Nice guy, solid league scorer but lacking at the very highest level.
  17. So that's 1 GP, 2 junior titles and an open meeting. Not my definition of great.
  18. He's a good rider but won't be great until he wins something of note.
  19. Well done to everyone involved in this. Looking forward to a brilliant GP now.
  20. No need to, it's almost impossible to spot the flag on those poor excuses for race jackets.
  21. This would also potentially cut costs since there would be 60 rather than 90 points per match to pay. In reality, the £/point would just rise to offset the fewer points actually scored. I like the idea though.
  22. IMO, anyone who wishes a broken neck on any rider has no place on this forum.
  23. All of which are due to fouls/transgressions etc by the opposition, whereas the joker is purely and simply a reward for not being very good. Aptly named and has no place in a professional sport.
