  1. Very sad news. Russ was the first rider I ever met properly, in 1978, when he came into my Dad's shop to order a cover for his yacht. He even offered to meet me at Poole ("not a bad track but too narrow") when I was next there and take me to the pits. He also gave me signed photos of him and his father Frank both of which I still have. An all round nice guy who even then was still thrilled that he'd ridden for Belle Vue. R.I.P Russ.
  2. Nothing wow about it from where I'm looking.
  3. Read it again - he specifically said motor sport not all sport and he is absolutely correct.
  4. It was exposed in the NL. At this level he will make Bomber look like Todd Wiltshire!
  5. Not forgetting ex Pirate and Panther Rod Colquhoun.
  6. Brilliant ride from NKI, reminiscent of his last-gasp SWC win a couple of years ago.
  7. Always wondered why Colin Goody was called 'Joe'.
  8. Justin Elkins - never has a rider suffered so many engine failures.
  9. He had to bail-off the motorbike
  10. So fantastic that he didn't win a single round that year?
  11. The final was not run due to an accident so the result was declared on points scored after 4 heats: 1. Paul Cooper 2. Eddie Kennett 3. Harland Cook
  12. As per the title, when did methanol become the fuel of choice or indeed mandated?
  13. I agree with Steve. Any rider already awarded a WC should not get another one the following season regardless of circumstances.
  14. I know that Irish tracks are debatable here, but if included then add Drogheda on 2/6/68 and Santry on 28/4/68 to Broady's list.
  15. His statement actually said "mugged of" but didn't say what was taken.
  16. Is it written in code? Mugged of any more what?
  17. Portsmouth ran at Copnor in 1929 Glasgow certainly ran at White City that year and maybe at other venues too. Bear in mind that there were a myriad of tracks there.
