At least with BWD, Bates and Barker in the team racing at OTA will be interesting and value for money.

Jack Holder and Kyle Newman are usually good value around the OTA but I can't see the Rebels being troubled much. -
Somerset V Plymouth - Friday 20th May - League Cup
gusworld replied to womble53's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Shame on the Plymouth management to in my view cynically delay racing by ordering a track inspection after heat 10. when the track was still race able and Jack Holder had just ripped round the track in a good time. Clearly the weather was going to get worse so we should have got at least a couple more races completed before calling it off. The fans miss out again. Luckily we got the 5-1 in the heat 11 lottery when the track was worse. -
Looks like the weakest team I've seen assembled in a long time. The three assessed riders are unproven and will take a while to get used to PL tracks and no third heat leader. Expect some thrashings away and a lot more closer meetings at home. Can't see us winning anything with this team but at least the match scores and racing will be interesting at home.

Rebels V Monarchs 29/9/2015

A good battling win for the Rebs and an eight point lead is something to defend. Should have been more thanks to a very poor decision by the referee in heat 12. Cookie was sensational. -
It's Rasmus Jensen !

Rasmus was very impressive when he guested for us on a couple of occasions last season. Good signing. -

It's sad that a rider had to go but you can understand the rebels management making the change at this time as we approach the business end of the season after a couple of really poor home performances. It was a toss up between Leigh and Ritchie. Worrall was probably saved due to his good away scores which may come in handy on the forthcoming northern tour and the play offs. However here we are in August and he still hasn't mastered the OTA . Thanks Leigh for some great racing. -
Somerset V Plymouth 31.7.15

Well done to the Devils who took maximum advantage of a bad day at the office for the rebels. The devils had their gating gloves on whilst the rebels had several tapes offences. This kick up the backside might turn out to be a good thing for the rebels come the business end of the season. The rebels have the chance to bounce back quickly tomorrow night. -
Redcar V Somerset Thursday 9th July

Shocking decision and it sends a clear message that you can break the rules and still get away with it. Not a good day for the integrity of speedway. -

Agree a big error by the bears manager. Somerset win 45-42 -

Ben Barker riding the OTA is worth the admission money alone as he usually provides some great racing and fireworks! -
Should have got straight on with the league cup campaign instead of messing about with a challenge match where only half the opposition team turn up. Somerset v Poole Select with six riders!

Oh dear two signings which are less than inspirational to stich up the Rebels team and a backward step in my view. I suppose Gary had to sign what was left. We know from experience that the Rebels management will have no hestation in chopping riders that don't perform so hopefully we will still be in the mix come September. Peterborough look a good bet for the title with an exciting lineup.
-
I would be amazed if the Rebels promotion get their numbers wrong for a second time. However even if the Rebels have to change their lineup at the last minute its not a big deal. What really matters is that you have the nucleus of a good team and can finish in a (top six) league position and finish the season strongly to win it,

Rasmus Jensen (6.14) would certainly be an asset if Charles goes elsewhere or is not available very much on a Friday night due to EL duties. Charles on 6.64 is quite high but he is maturing nicely and achieved that average from being in the main body of the team. We know what we are getting with him and he just needs to improve his away scores a bit to raise that average.
-
My prediction now that we won't have Olly and Nick as heatleaders anymore. 1. Josh G 8.11 2. Charles 6.64 3. Pontus 7.17 4. Jack H 5.00 5. Brady 7.54 6. Paul S 4.79 7. Olly G 3.12 Nice balance, will walk our home meetings and all should improve their averages. Top 4 easily and then who knows.... Bring it on!
-
How about Josh G Brady Anders Mellgren Rasmus Jensen Todd Kurtz Jack Holder ANO 3.00 Josh is a consistent no.1. Anders is great value on 6.57 and I was most impressed with Rasmussen on his visits to the ota

Somerset V Ipswich Fri 10th Oct
gusworld replied to rustyre bel1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Its easy to write off the witches chances but you never know in speedway. It's been a mystery why witches have performed so poorly in the past at the OTA. They have some experienced riders and you never know how much the weather will play a part on the track conditions especially at this time of year. This should be a cracking meeting and I hope that both Olly and Charles are fit enough to return.
