  1. chris Morton has been to visit Ricky Ashworth today. Chris reports: "Ricky's Dad Dave has given me the go ahead to let the Belle Vue supporters know about my visit. I am so pleased to be able to tell you that Ricky is making excellent progress, when I saw him today he looked well and we were chatting for quite a while, during this chat he told me of his determination to get better. Seeing Ricky on the road to recovery is brilliant news for his family and the World of Speedway. I saw today a young man with an inspirational level of determination who is a credit to himself and his family and wish Ricky all the very best on his recovery. I must also say thank you to Ricky's Dad Dave for making it possible for me to see Ricky." report on bell vue website good to read
  2. spoke to kozza this morning he is still waiting for wrist injury to heal
  3. probably not but speedway is a numbers game shows how difficult it can be to put a competitive team together
  4. strength in depth 1 Kozza 7.15, D Bellego 6.36, C Vissing 6.89, M Wethers 6.79, D North 6.55, H Skidmore 5.65, L Carr 3.00 Total 42.39
  5. so us northerners get 14 league meetings a season, while the top flight get 28 on a home and away basis don't think this will be the answer
  6. anything is possible in speedway when you speak to barker he does not hide the fact he would like to ride here.
  7. the interview that said Liams not ready yet seems like our friends up the road think he is.
  8. now that bellego has a polish team will a saturday night track still suit him
  9. O Allen 8-09,D Bellego 6-36,A Tully 7-19,M Wethers 6-79,L Bjerre 7-44,P Starke 3-61,L Carr3-00 Total 42.48
  10. does this rule regarding not being able to ride in PL if you ride in poland apply to all riders seeing as David Bellego has also signed for a polish team.
  11. Just an update to say that thanks to all the fans up and down the country who have purchased wristbands and supported the auction night the sum of £15,500.00 has so far been donated by the group to the SRBF which will be ringfenced for Ricky and his family. There is still money coming in due to the sale of wristbands and other items on ebay so more money will be on its way very soon. Also thanks to the efforts of the riders who gave there services to ride in the Berwick v Sheffield challenge match in aid of Ricky a total of £15,027.34p was also donated to the SRBF on behalf of Berwick Speedway.
  12. olly allen been released by rye house would be a good start to 2014 team
  13. O Allen 8-28 D Bellego 6-36 R Wells 7-81 M Wethers 6-79 T Nelson 6-16 P Starke 3-61 L Carr 3-00
  14. on behalf of the Bandits 2012 Group i can confirm that at the moment we have raised over £10,000 with the sale of Ricky Ashworth wristbands, once all monies have been received we can provide a correct total.
  15. not sure how much was raised on night but regarding the wristbands there were started and continued by the efforts of the Bandits 2012 Group who were sponsoring ricky for this season as well as giving help to the rest of the team
  16. if Dimitri is any good get him signed young riders are the future for all clubs have heard good reports about him looking forward to watching him tomorrow night.
  17. think kennett's average when we had him at berwick was about 10-42
  18. think i would keep kozza as long as he has no long track commitments, agree with keeping bellego think he can improve even more in 2014 need stronger reserves if we are going to be in the mix at end of season.
  19. i'm sure the name of this post is Berwick v Rye House not a post mortem of where this season has gone wrong so back to saturdays meeting sadly we are using r/r due to Kozza's injury which does mean extra rides for the rest of the main body of the team not a bad thing as we are a bit fragile at reserve. Think this could be a closer result than people expect as Rye have riders capable of scoring points at shielfield in Allen, Mellgren, & Nelson think the result could hinge on how Aspgren performs on his 1st visit. Hopefully there will be a half decent crowd craving for there speedway fix after a 3 week break and we finish off the league season with a win.
  20. season finished at redcar in cup match when they squandered a 28-13 lead in the 2nd leg and that was the 18th of april
  21. hopefully if it is the best stadium in the PL they will allow for the fact that there will be a bigger crowd on sunday than normal and open up extra facilities like the bar on the 1st bend so you don't have to stand in queues for a refreshment or toilets.
  22. good to see Richie and Andrew coming forward for this meeting hopefully some elite league riders can come forward and offer there services for a worthy cause as they cant all be riding in the golden helmet meeting the following sunday
  23. think for 2014 i would be looking for some fresh faces in the team Sam Masters & Taylor Poole are 2 that come to mind, other things like having a consistent track each week so the riders basically know what to expect in regard to there setups.plus a big push on promoting / advertising the fact there is speedway in berwick, which to be fare has improved lately with posters and banners beind displayed more.
