  1. On a slightly more serious note this charming message landed in my inbox earlier from a Workington fan..i wont name the wee charmer but he knows who he is! I wouldnt usually put private messages on the forum of course but this one made me really angry. It's pretty sad when it comes to this after what happened to poor Lee Richardson and other riders sadly but there ya go.It would appear that my bit of good natured banter about Richard Lawson 'pulling a sickie' has set someones spiteful braincell off..Teams/riders have done this for years and it's part of the sport.Oh dear.. i guess fun aint allowed on the forum anymore in the mind of this chap.. I do know that this guy is in a minority (of one probably i'm glad to say) amongst Workington fans by the way.Anyways on to better things.. it should be a belter of a match and lets hope for great racing and no injuries of course It was addressed to 'the master of tripe' the only bit that made me laugh.... I quote "hope ypo break a nail and cant type a decent reply. you may have sat on a speedway bike, but only to have your photo taken with your favourite rider . cant see us winning at emmerdale, so hope all your riders beak a leg or two. then you may have some sence" . yosser.
  2. ..should've gone to specsavers Missus! http://www.funtrivia...stion41522.html
  3. You're not Richards mammy are you?! I have been on a speedway bike before as it goes, but not i'm glad to say with a dislocated shoulder..even I'm not that mad! Personally i hope Rene is riding as he is always entertaining and gives it a crack.I was standing about twenty yards away from his crash at Owlerton on sunday and it was a scary one Here's hoping he's ok
  4. Now now Big Tsu there's nae need to go all bitter and twisted at the whiter than white Monarchs just cos the 'True League Champions' fell by the wayside last weekend!
  5. Helfer is racing in a lot of end of season continental meetings according to reports Mr Snaps.. On another subject i see that Richard 'Rastaman' Lawson is being replaced by guest Aaron Summers on friday as his shoulder 'hasnt responded to treatment'. Call me Mr Cynical but isnt this is just a wee bit convenient after Richards pish poor showings at Armadale in the recent past, and last saturdays ahem grasstrack meeting at Derwent Park?! I'm prepared to be shot down in flames for doubting the poor wee soul.. if he has an excuse note written and signed by his mammy of course..
  6. I dont know whats behind the guff you post about Cookie tbh davidj but It was a meeting that could have got us a shot at the Premier league title so how do you expect the guy to feel about being cheated out of that? Have a look at this and maybe you'll see why he was a bit peed off (along with the rest off us Edinburgh fans!)I think you'd be a tad angry yourself ya baby a'se! https://www.facebook...&type=1
  7. Would agree that Ashley is a good lad and a good young up and coming rider.I think he can go as far in the sport as he wants. To my eyes he certainly has the right attitude and the natural talent to make it
  8. Class?Aye if you say so!Cheating aint 'class' no matter how you wrap it up me auld marra.Excuse me for asking.. but grasstracking and speedway are still two different sports arent they?!
  9. Poor from the Monarchs tonight..very disappointing.A pretty strange choice of guest to be honest though thanks to Cory for his efforts of course:-)Such a shame Cookie was injured last sunday as he would have made a real difference im sure:-(Will Ipswich be naming Tom Daley in the line up for next weeks return at the Dale by the way? ;-)
  10. Really hope its a great night and a big turn for Matty.A well deserved testimonial He's been a fantastic rider for the Monarchs and he's also one of the sports nice guys.Hard to believe 10 years and 3 championships have gone by!Good on ya Stormy!
  11. Hey!Monarchs are doing well haha! ;)

  12. Great news and a very well deserved meeting for Jason Always a classy rider and a top geezer to boot (even though his british career started with that rabble along the M8 ).Hopefully i can make this meeting as i'm planning a holiday down south round about that time.A good race track at Perry Barr too so that should make for a cracking nights racing!I'm sure it will be supported by many of the top riders as well so one to look forward to
  13. A richly deserved and by the sound of it a very well attended meeting for Parks Must admit he hasnt been bad for a Glasgow Tigers legend/messiah i guess Like he did on most tracks he always rode Armadale very well and entertained us all many times over the years. He always loved the 'banter' with the Monarchs faithful too and took it all in good spirit so fair play to him for that!Always loved his jousts with Peter Carr although 9 times out of ten PC tanned his erse of course .He's also been a very important voice for his fellow riders over the years and must be applauded for that as well.I wish him all the best in whatever lies ahead for him whether still involved in speedway or not.Young Aussie riders wont go far wrong if they follow his example. All the best Parks

Yeah, so I see! I think it did have something similar before though, but it was + and -, basically thumbs up or down or something like that.

  16. Congratulations to Rory on his fantastic victory at Blunsdon last night Cant believe the wee laddie i saw pootling round after the meetings at the Dale is now the ELRC champion! It's well deserved, and after a sticky couple of seasons it's great to see him coming good again this year and ride as we all know he can.Shows what he can achieve given an injury free run.I couldnt be happier for the lad
  17. Had a wee moan about the track? As if! Now who would do a thing like that ?
  18. Hey Shadders!By the look of your eyes in that photo, it would appear that the Devil is alive..and he is a Rye House Supporter!!
  19. Agreed!!Really glad everyone enjoyed the meeting.George Stancl is one of the sports good guys, and no mean rider himself by the way!It was great that he wore the Monarchs race jacket, even though it was only for half a season. He was riding for Wolves at the time i think, but he guested for the Monarchs at London one night. He celebrated his match winning ride like he was a full time Monarch!Kinda says it all!!
  20. Agreed!!Really glad everyone enjoyed the meeting.George Stancl is one of the sports good guys, and no mean rider himself by the way!I remember him guesting for the Monarchs at London one night, and he celebrated his match winning ride like he was a full time Monarch!!Kinda says it all!!
  21. Nice one BB Good to hear you enjoyed yourself A satisfied customer at speedway is always good to hear about! Though i'm sure someone will be on for a good gripe soon about the hotdogs, the chips were a wee bit cold, or that they had to park their car 10 miles away and had to walk the rest of the way etc.Something along those lines! Sheffield is a great venue and racetrack though isn't it?Superb stuff!Congrats to Kenni,David and of course the Majestic Flyin' Ryan Fisher!Well done to all
  22. Hey, thats mighty nice of you to say that! I'm beginning to think that Kings Lynn fans maybe aint so bad after all
  23. The Ref Jim Lawrence treated everyone with knowledge and understanding of speedway racing with contempt on that one. What a choob!
  24. I was still fizzing after his pish poor excuse for Rory's disclusion, and didn't hear properly..what did he say?
