Really proud of the boys in blue & gold To get a point today after being so far behind, and losing Claus so early is really good going Hopefully Claus is ok and was withdrawn from the meeting as a precaution.I'm not usually one to call for changes, but Marcel Helfer has really struggled this season when i thought he would kick on after a few promising races last year. You can't second guess what a rider's thoughts are but sometimes after a good heat 2 he doesn't look interested tbh..!Something for the promotion to think about surely? On a positive note that was another great show by Wee Jo Tabaka, and Cookie must be one of the best riders in the Premier League presently..superb stuff! It must be said that i'd fancy him to accumulate more points than Bomber in Cardiff in a few weeks time if he was given the chance..Just a wee thought...

You ain't Mr 'win at all costs' Matt Fraud are you?! As for the 'fuss' that you mention.. well much as i like and wish David well i dont know if he's the answer to be honest. With all due respect and to reiterate a point that has been alluded to by others as well as myself,he hasn't exactly been burning up the Premier league this season has he?How(e) long do you give him before the axeman cometh?? The Stars aren't exactly struggling this season so i was a bit surprised at this news, but as always time will tell...

Hmm..really not sure about this one tbh..risky I thought Nicolai at least deserved a pop at reserve,as at his best he is a very decent rider,As much as i like David Howe,he's hardly been setting the heather alight in the PL this year.I really hope Buster knows what he's doing..someone seems to have pissed on his campfire this year or summat by the looks of things! He aint getting as ruthless as old Matt Fraud on the South Coast is he?!!Surely not!!

Agree with everyone that it was a really good nights racing, and despite the leccy gremlims and the green flag starts, the meeting was a great advert for the sport Dare i say that Scottish ref Wullie Dishwasher is a better flag dropper than he is an actual referee.. The track was superbly prepared by the Doc,and here's hoping the weather is kind to us so we get more of the same this season Personally, apart from Craig Cook and Richie Worrell doing the Premier league proud,it was a pleasure watching the EL big guns attacking the track (Eddie Kennett's round the boards efforts in on one race was breathtaking). All in all i think we deserve to have meeting like this allocated to us again..well done to all! -
First time on here in a while for one reason or another, but i must say that i'm really impressed with the Monarchs so far this season After the trials and tribulations of the close season (when we could easily have folded) there not only seems to be a really good team spirit between the riders, but the feelgood factor has spread to the supporters too which is great. After my initial concerns about the startline being moved back to it's original 1997/1998 position i'm now getting used to it.The standard of some of the racing despite the weather not being too kind to us so far has been top drawer..Heat 12 on friday being a classic between as Mike H puts it 'the wee men'.This can only bode well for when some sort of summer breaks out,and the best trackman in the bizz the Doc can work his magic without worrying about damage limitation (i can only hope for all Speedway tracks the weather is kinder to us after last years washout) All in all i really enjoyed fridays match, and to my slight surprise we gave a strong looking Lions team a right tonking..dont worry Leicester fans, on this form i don't think you'll be the first to suffer a doing! We just have to steer clear of injuries and i feel we should be up there challenging for all trophies available. Most importantly though, let's hope we're all in for a really good year of speedway..let's face it when our sports at it's best there's nowt tae beat it!

Who do you think? Frosty the frickin' Snowman?! Never thought i'd say this as i've never been a great fan of his really, but i feel so sorry for Troy Batchelor in all of this..
-
You surprise me Mr Fire! Personally I think our cousins along the M8 should maybe have done their homework about the criteria better?Rather than point the finger in Mr Harkess's direction, they should perhaps look closer to home..but hey why ruin a good bit of mudslinging eh? A wee suggestion for my West Coast chinas..Maybe Michael 'Dangermouse' Penfold and Jayden O Malley are worth a punt?Well they obviously met the criteria didnt they?
-
And so, as per usual the conspiracy theorys against the leader of the 'evil West Lothian Empire' begin... well would you Adam n Eve it Guvnor?!

Surely the promotion at Peterboro as business people need to 'get real' in these tough financicial times before throwing a transfer or nothing ultimatum though? As i've said surely a solution can be worked out to the satisfaction of everyone instead of pissing everyone off which seems to be the situation at present? As ive suggested a loan fee and realistic instalments?Right now they're looking at a big fat zero return on their investment, which seems pretty dense..even to a non-business person like myself I really hope after all this guff is hopefully sorted, the whole assets system is looked at in detail and soon.. before our sport turns in to an even bigger running joke than it is at present..

Oops lol! I stand corrected and have amended my faux pas Miss Romaine..many thanks

I think this whole affair regarding not only NKI but Hans and Troy too isnt painting the Panthers promotion in a very good light at all.The way things are they have 3 riders who have stated they dont want to ride for them, which to my eyes speaks volumes Having read the various interviews with all sides i feel this matter should be sorted out quickly.Peterboro are a business obviously, and i agree they should be recompensed for their assets..however refusing to even let the above riders out on loan at the present time and asking for a flat transfer fee in these precarious times seems self defeating imo.It must be a great worry not only to the riders but the supporters of the Stars and Robins.Surely a loan fee plus some payment arrangement/instalments for a full time transfer could be sorted out to everyones advantage..whereas at the moment Panthers will receive a big fat zero return on their investment which seems crazy in these tough financial times! It also denies the riders making a living which isnt right at all ps great to see speedway being discussed on topic again btw..lets keep it up folks! I hope everyone had a good New Year btw..now roll on March!!

Jings..i'd heard from certain people that this thread had turned in to some sort of 'battle of the alpha male egos'..they werent bloody wrong!! I can see why a lot of people dont come on here as much as they used to..or in some cases not at all Dont get me wrong..a bit of banter has always been a fun part of bsf..but some of the stuff on here is just plain boring pish (imho natch! ) Worst of all a lot of it has nowt to do with the Kings Lynn Stars or even speedway come to think!!Some of you should find a footie forum where that sort of crud belongs perhaps? Anyways i'd like to wish everyone at the Norfolk a very Happy New Year and all the best for the coming season.Hope to make it down for a few meself! I'll be back later to discuss what i think of the Stars 2013 team..anyone else fancy joining in a speedway discussion are more than welcome Slainte my Norfolk chums!!

Havent been on here for a bit..have i missed much? Bit emotionally drained after the 'will we wont we come to the tapes in 2013' saga tbh,but as we all know now we will..phew!Be afraid Weegie Tiggers.. be very afraid!! If the blue and gold resume next season riding like we did in August before Cookie and Wee Jo's injuries i'm sure we'll be in for a cracking season. All we need now is the big orange ball in the sky to put in more appearances and crowds to rise and we're sorted! In closing i'd just like to wish everyone in bsf land (even the trolls of christmas past present and future) a very merry christmas and a great New Year I would like to echo Ekimba's thoughts in sending the Richardson family, and indeed anyone coping with the loss of a loved one and other hardships at this time all the very best for the future.Have a good yin peeps.Slainte!!! #RICO

Cheers for putting me in the picture Oh dear.. not a good night to say the least then!Sounds like said photographer is one of those kinda people who rubberneck accidents etc..saddos Thankfully these people and the charming geezer who threatened you are well in the minority in speedway when alls said and done. I dare say i would've objected to that behaviour with a few choice Gaelic expletives myself tbh Shads.. Anyhoo best of luck to the souls who brave the elements to attend the Chrimbo meeting and that it's a success -

Swc 2013 Calendar
Young51 replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As lovely a city as Prague is,i fear the only entertainment to be had at the SWC final next year will be off track sadly It's a very nice stadium but a bloody awful track, and has produced some of the worst racing in the GPs that i've seen by far (along with every Italian GP held at Terranzano it must be said) Why these two tracks have been chosen to host big meetings that are supposed to 'promote' and show our great sport in the best possible light i really dont know.. -
I hate to pee on your campfire Mr Chewy but err Naw ye didnae! Somerset or Scunny will be the 2012 Premier league champions and win that metal league trophy thingy.. even if we have to wait till the fans are wearing Santa suits and drinking mulled wine for them to be crowned! Enjoy your cup victory big man you deserve it..slainte!
-
This line about being the real/true/moral champions etc gets a wee bit tiresome tbh..and is also a wee bit disrespectful to either the Rebels or the Scorpions but hey ho!Whoever wins it will fully deserve it in my eyes..those were the rules agreed upon from the off,and that everyone signed up for.Now that i've got that out the way i'd like to congratulate the Diamonds wholeheartedly on their cup win You did deserve something out of the season imo. I only wish that the Mighty Edinburgh Monarchs are around to take it off you next season..Hope you,Big Tsu,Mr Arson and everyone enjoy your celebrations..oh,and mines is a pint of Scotch btw Awaaaay the lads n lassies

I was actually going to add that the 'whiter than white' Edinburgh Monarchs would never pull such a stroke Gaz but.. Banters banter n aw that and a good natured wind up is one of the good fun things on this forum but to wish broken legs and stuff on speedway riders?Thats really out of order..I just hope whoever it is has a serious word with themselves though i wont hold my breath ..
