  1. I wasnt using my original question as a 'defence' but obviously you thought so.. Not my intent!Thank you.. i try my best Lioness I'm still looking for an interesting Glasgow thread btw..hmmmm
  2. Err dont you have an interesting Glasgow Tigers thread to discuss anything in? No wait thats because there isn't one.. !
  3. Apparently a frank discussion with a referee is now verboten..what next?A ban on overtaking..bloody hell!I've seen countless riders visit the referees box for a 'wee chat' but not get thrown out of a meeting.. #Pathetic On a plus point it is nice to see so many people chewin' the fat on BSF once more..t'is been a while..
  4. I dont know what was said Lioness but there were apparently zillions of people who were in there with them & the poor heater..
  5. Ok i apologise to the heater.. RIP ps were you party to what was said or otherwise to the referee?
  6. LOL.. some of you on here really make me laugh..'Gentle Innocent Ben' copped a fine for this too by the way motormouth Barkers been pishing people off and involved in incidents throughout his whole career so he's hardly Snowwhite in all this now is he?! In fact i'm surprised he hasnt been lamped more by his fellow riders to be honest but there ya go..Easy to condemn Cookie but he's said his peace and i for one respect him for it..now i wonder if Ben Barker's gonna get his baps out for the Daily Scum tomorrow..or maybe they have enough t1ts already?
  7. Why should Pete Simmons buy a copy?! To see with his own eyes that he was patently talking mince on both twitter & in the speedway star(and not for the first time either it must be said ) in blaming Craig Cook for the crash. It takes a big man to admit he's made an arse of himself, because with the subsequent comments he's made,he just comes over as an ungracious bad loser tbh..
  8. Hope Uncle Len's hosepipe ban's been lifted & the supporters braving the heat tonight get glimpses of the riders going round and not a sandstorm! Take plenty of 'refreshments' young Shadders and i hope your battery lasts mate
  9. Well..maybe that was a wee understatement.. they did get rid of that awful green helmet colour!
  10. Aww a wee touch of the soor plooms there because you didnt get an 'invite' to the party bigman! Apart from Redcar perhaps all the top teams in the Premier league were there so we were well worthy PL fours champs. For the record i think it should go back to the qualifiers for the 4TT as they were fun,but the fans wishes don't seem to count sometimes..
  11. Putting my Blue & Gold allegiances aside for a moment (unlike some i can ) this was an awful meeting, devoid of overtaking & entertainment sadly I kept on waiting for a rider in blue & gold to come out the second bend in front and i waited..and waited.I've heard rumours about some bother in the Monarchs track prep staff in the past few weeks and i can only hope this is sorted as defeat is one thing (it happens) but lack of entertainment and a gate & go festival is another. Our club appears to have turned the corner in many ways this year, but this is worrying tbh.. Anyhoo.. congrats to the fast gating Newcastle Diamonds on their well deserved win,and if this doesnt give the Monarchs boys a boot up their khybers nothing will.Diamonds looked more at ease at the Dale than the home boys and thats not a thing we're used to watching..a strange night all round really.I must say that R/R signing for the Diamonds looks a sh!t hot prospect by the way!! i do have confidence that the Monarchs will bounce back from this setback as we have done countless times this season. The PL seems to have gone a bit crazy this year with virtually no ones home track being a fortress (Glasgow Tiggers being an exception as this hasnt been the case for a couple of seasons now ) That one was for our gloating West Coast cousins who've sprung out of the woodwork btw Oh by the way Mr Paulco while i'm here.. we have already won a trophy despite our 'gating like that' y'know! Ah well onwards & upwards
  12. I've just watched the DVD of last Sundays meeting, and as I said at the time there was NO contact between Cookie and the unfortunate David Bellego whatsoever. The crap directed towards Babs Horley was totally misplaced as well,as she got it spot on (now there's a first for me defending her ) Bellego went in to the corner 'too hot' and collected the equally unfortunate Rohan Tungate's back wheel.it was a big race,he's a brave rider & you have to go for it.I can only hope his recovery is swift. Any news on his progress from our Borders cousins btw?However.. the abuse directed towards Cookie that ensued on the day at Peterborough and consequently on Facebook & twitter (and some here on the BSF) from mostly Ipswich fans it must be said, was totally uncalled for and out of order.. I would gladly send a copy of the DVD to anyone still doubting what really happened just to set the record straight. For some that still wouldn't be enough but there ya go some people are just bad losers.. Watching it again there was some fantastic racing in very trying conditions, but so many happy memories that will always stay with me Get in there the Monarchs With all due respect..total garbage!!I'll back up what i said in my post & send you a copy of the meeting.. if you're interested in the truth that is.. I refer the right honourable gentleman to the reply i gave some moments ago Yes he should have been in the rerun as he did nowt wrong..you must've been watching a different meeting Mr Fire
  13. No..but seriously missus, that was another fantastic recovery from the Monarchs last night & a very welcome 2 points on the road to one of our main rivals. This team just keeps on producing the goods when the chips are down
  14. Agreed Rob a total racing incident..I had a perfect view of it looking right across from the 1st corner by the way.Cookie did nothing wrong whatsoever, and yet it didnt stop some Ipswich fans in particular from saying 'disgusting & dirty riding' from him.If i thought he had done anything naughty i would say so..some people are just bad losers i guess going from some of the twaddle posted on twitter etc For once..and i never thought i'd say this Mistress Babs got it spot on As for all the moans & gripes about the running of the event, delays etc (what are you moaning about anyway.. you got a tan didnt ya! ),i thought the Peterborough track staff and all who helped did a really good job under very trying circumstances.I'm glad to report that all the riders involved in the crashes got out relatively unscathed The arguments about the tyres only came from certain parties (Chris Louis being one i believe?) and that is outwith the organisers control unfortunately. All in all it was a marathon of a day to say the least, and the delays sucked, but even though i had to walk miles in the blazing sun to get back for a peterboro bus i wouldnt have missed it for the world!I was so proud of the boys in Blue & Gold and we fully deserved our victory. Craig Cook pulled off a couple of sensational wins that took the breath away but every Edinburgh Monarchs rider fully contributed with vital points.Claus Vissing must have been the coolest dude in the place when he dropped the clutch in Heat 12 to bring the trophy back to Embra! It was great to see a large Monarchs support in our traditional spot, and was also nice to bump in to young Shadders & Squall and have a natter.Good idea on the bevvy front Shads by the way All i can say is bring on Peterboro Premier league Fours 2014!Cheers
  15. And somewhere a village is missing it's idiot/radge/goon/simpleton.. Anyways on to the speedway & less of the bitter keyboard commado brigade (before you reply Jamlad- unlike some on here i would have no problem having a reasoned well honed debate in person about the pish you posted above ) This was a pretty good match & Monarchs were clearly up for it from the off after our uncharacteristic later heat capitulation against the Bears & our awful start against the Diamonds.Everyone in blue & gold chipped in in what was a fantastic team performance. On the other side side of the pits, riders i expected to do much better for the Comets.. e.g Kyle Howarth & Rene Bach were pretty awful tbh.Richard Lawson was slightly better than his usual Armadale performances, and to a lesser extent Rusty and Ash never gave up and fought hard for their points.Cookies Heat 15 pass of Lawson was class and reminded myself and a few of the blue & gold faithful of the skillfull, forceful passing manoeuvres of a certain Peter Carr at his best, and i cant praise him any higher than that! It's been a joy to watch Cookie progress the way he has in a relatively short space of time & he is reaping the rewards of all the hard punishing training he puts in to his speedway. Some riders would do well to show such dedication..keep it going Marra
  16. Brilliant stuff by the boys in Blue & Gold tonight!!Watching the updates coming in was about as nerve-wracking as you can get..phew i'm away for a wee dram or two and try to calm down!A great victory against the odds after fridays defeat..just show's you never give up the fight!!Next round v Redcar i believe? Bring it on!!
  17. Thank you for taking my wee joke in the spirit it was obviously made in Gaz.. For the record i hope the Tiggers get their act together..your promotion are working really hard, and from what i've seen on the Tigers v Monarchs dvd from a couple of weeks ago (i'll get it for your chrimbo mate ) the racing has improved,so credit where it's due.I'll look forward to an all Tiggers final then..
  18. A bad night for the Monarchs on Friday, but i always had a nagging doubt about having to use the R/R facility for Theo and so it proved.A couple of riders having a sub par night (in this case Wee Jo Tabaka & Claus Vissing) caught up with us in the end,but i think that you're downplaying the capabilities of our team to be contenders Cyclone.I still think we'll be there or thereabouts at the business end of the season despite this blip. All credit to Redcar for hanging in there when Monarchs looked like comfortable winners. The 8-1 heat victory seemed to give them the belief they could pull off a victory.Heat 15 was tricky one to call though personally i would have went for Captain Deeks rather than Claus who really needs to up his game i feel.Someone pointed out his highest score at the Dale is 8+2 which is not whats expected from a good heat leader at this level.Big plus was young Max Fricke who seems to get better & better For Redcar.. It's the best i've seen Ulrich Ostergaard at Armadale for a good while & his forceful riding earned him the points he deserved.Carl Wilkinson after a sticky start rode well, and could prove to be a very handy reserve. As for the KO cup match with Newcastle..bring it on! As Ipswich's draw at Rough yesterday proved,it's a very open PL title chase and anyone can beat anyone else (well..apart from Glasgow ..a wee joke there my West Coast brethren ) So what i would say is dinnae write the Monarchs off yet Mr C or anyone else who thinks we can't do it..there's still a way to go y'know
  19. Thanks for the heads up Thats a real shame for Thomas..let's hope he's back in the saddle soon A good rider who i personally would have in my team if he ever leaves Scunny.Well,as Scotland 1314 has alluded to the weather is fine at Armadale (two weeks in a row!! ) so let's make it a good one..enjoy your speedway folks
  20. Slightly disappointed Thomas Jorgensen is awol as he's been very impressive in his previous Armadale visits..i'm guessing he's on Danish final duty?Bit of revenge for the Blue & Gold here after the comprehensive doing the Scorps handed out to us last season on a dreadful night of rain and mud.Monarchs should have enough in the tank to see off David Howe & Co this time i feel.Weather looks good again for tomorrow i'm told (for the 2nd week in a row!! ) so hopefully the racing is excellent and all riders return home safely. Bring it oan champs!
  21. For once it even looks like it's going to be a lovely sunny night at the Dale! Think this could be a close match if the Plymouth team click,as with the exception of Ricky 'Bingo' Kling they have all ridden the Armadale track. For the Monarchs,i'm sure the riders will all appreciate a dry track for a change as unfortunately the going has been slippy most meetings so far.Hopefully for the the good of the club this is the start of some summerlike weather after last seasons catastrophic monsoon season. It'll be interesting also to see if Mitchell Davey produces more than the enigmatic Marcel Helfer.. To be perfectly honest Mitchell, though a really nice bloke wouldnt have been most supporters choice, but we'll back him to the hilt while he's wearing the blue & gold.Good luck Mitchell Hopefully a good nights racing in prospect with all riders going home injury free, and of course a Monarchs victory
  22. If memory serves Darcy rode Armadale the first time like a throttle happy nutter! You can excuse him that because he was just a young kid..but i remember watching him and thinking he's gonna come a cropper..and he did!!.As for the track as recently as a few weeks ago the 'big EL boys' almost unanimously agreed that they really enjoyed their nights racing and had a lot of fun.Good skillfull riders who attack the track at the Dale get their reward.. simple as that!
  23. I refer the right Honorable Gentleman back to the answer Ekimba gave some moments ago! I know you were only winding it on PC..where is the famous Glesgae West Coast humour/banter i've heard so much about? Obviously coming from the East we're not allowed to have one.. Here's to a good safe meeting, plenty good natured banter,a few swallys and an Embra victory of course!
  24. You're hitting the Buckfast and Mad Dog Coladas a bit early aren't you PC?! I don't know where you're getting aw this 'self proclaimed champions elect' cobblers from tbh as i havn't seen any evidence of this from the blue & gold faithful. Still, you lot at the new super improved Possildome have to get your wooden spoons out of the drawer for a workout sometime eh? Personally i think we have a good team that are more than capable of figuring at the business end of things this season, but we shall see as there's a fair way to go yet.. Here's hoping for a nice dry evening, some great racing and a victory for Embra natch Bring it oan Tiggers
