I think the gating tart you mean is Nicolai Klindt? Worth a pop maybe..

As i've said George, congrats & enjoy it while you can.. I'd say beware though.. because the light at the end of the tunnel is sometimes the light of an oncoming train lol.. Anyways it should be a cracking atmosphere on Friday at the Dale..it does make a nice change i guess, because the Edinburgh v Glasgow matches recently have become quite tame and not much of a challenge to the Blue & Gold to be honest..bring it oan i say!!

Congrats to the Weeg on all too rare home victory over the Blue & Gold..and cue mass hysteria & knicker wetting from along the M8 no doubt..a phrase 'One swally does not a piss up make' comes to mind Sounds like you caught us on a bad day for a couple of our normally reliable riders..it happens.Justin has been superb for us since signing and i'm sure he's hurting right now, but he'll be back no doubt about that.He had a nightmare in the Somerset leg of the playoff final and then swept to a peerless max back at Armadale,so as i say these things happen. As for the chief Cookie basher Gavan..the usual cobblers i'm sorry to say. What cracks are these?!Every rider has bad days at the office..as for your comment about him being found wanting in the harder tests you obviously havnt seen the many times Craig's been more than up to it.i think you'll find that his record in last heat deciders in finals as well as league meetings is second to no one..you really must do better than that sonny..dear oh dear.. Enjoy it for now my Glasgow loving chinas. No doubt at all that we'll be back..oh and did you get your starting tapes from the same poundshop as the Poles did in Warsaw for the GP/Farceathon last night?Jeez all that money..

Young51 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Oh you are indeed amusing on a regular basis Nagy1 lol.. Personally i think Monarchs do very well for a team that races 20 odd miles away from it's spiritual home in a small town..big kudos to our promotion and our wonderful fans wherever they come from Let's wait & see if Tigers become the 'Man City' of the Speedway Premier league..or will the 'poor relations' from the East prevail and they fall flat on their holes? Nobodies asking you to sit in tghe bloody grandstand by the way..jeez you would think a pound was beyond you 'nouveau riche' or something lol.. For the record other stadiums within speedway like Kings Lynn do this..get over it!! -

Makes me laugh when Glesgae people like yourself come on here all superior and go on about the 'plight' of the Monarchs and sniping at our club Nagy1.. not so long ago you were asked to put your hands in your pockets to keep running yourselves..in fact more than once i recall Just because you have a couple of sugar daddys now and posher pish troughs to pee in, it's a different story..well let's see how long they'll keep pumping the money in for if the demanded for League title isnt forthcoming and the hoped for crowds dont materialize?Obviously i wouldn't ever want Glasgow to fold but..Biggest Peugeot showroom in the West anyone? Personally,i think our club despite our problems have worked miracles on a budget to select the great League winning teams that they have without much finance so here's hoping one of the oldest Derby fixtures in speedway has many years to run yet Ahem..Anyways..back to the original thread loll..i think this will be a better match than it was going to be before the unfortunate injury to the Slovenian lad..Michael Palm Toft always gives 100% wherever he races,so it should be interesting..unless Berwick can tempt Dicko and James Grieves out of retirement i can see that losing streak at the Dale continuing..for now.Hope it's a good and safe one for all.. -
Don't think so somehow Gav..i think it'll take more than a few quid from their sugar daddy Don Facenna (The Possil Park Godfather ) to make the Weegies the Man City of the Premier League somehow Monarchs may be on a much smaller budget but i have a feeling we'll be up there come prizegiving time..Not a bad meeting to start with i think...most riders had their moments and no injuries to report so it's all good... #JoinTheDefence #BringItOan

That's not how i remember it from the matches i attended, but there ya go..have a good one

i'd just like to wish all my fellow supporters of the 2014 treble winning Monarchs a fantastic New Year .Cheers folks and i look forward to watching us start the defence of our title & cups when the 2015 season begins..it cant come quick enough now.I'm really happy with the team our mangement have put together and i'm positive they'll do the Blue & Gold colours proud.I have a feeling young Erik Riss will be a real ace..let's face it,if the coming season is anywhere near as good as 2014 it'll still be an absolute belter..noo bring it oan!!Enjoy yourselves, now i'm away back to hibernate till March lol..see ya

We used to show up in large numbers quite happily at Ashfield until the Tigers management/riders ripped the total pish out of everyone during..dare i say it..the debacle of June 2010 at Armadale?Sorry to bring that whole sorry episode up again, but personally it scunnered me from putting my hard earned dosh in to the Tiggers till, and i know a lot of people in the east who felt the same.. No jealousy here about what appears to be great news for Glasgow Speedway..i'm happy for you all,and anything that improves facilities for the fans and the stability of the club can only have a positive knock on effect for Scottish speedway in general. It'll be all the sweeter when the Blue & Gold ride round on the victory lap after our latest win over the 'new improved' Glasgow Tiger Galacticos at the Possil Park Maracana Hopefully the new promotion and set up can mend fences with us disgruntled fans, and we can start with a clean slate..we live in hope!My New Year wish for all us methanol addicts here in Scotland now is that we get a lot better practice facilities so we can nurture a new generation of Scottish riders.Since Linlithgow sadly closed many years ago we havnt regularly produced many riders at all, which is a desperate shame..here's hoping for a better future Now I'd just like to wish everyone on here a very Happy New Year tae yin & aw..all the best speedway peeps p.s Wake me up in march.. Slainte

Coming out of my winter hibernation long enough to wish everyone aw the very best for the festive season..have a good one folks So far I'm very happy with the team we have chosen to defend our PL,PL Playoffs,KO Cup & League Cup trophies in 2015..i'm counting the playoffs as effectively we won the league twice lol.. It's a mixture of proven winners, can and will do do a lot betters (King Kev back in the fold at somewhere where he's happy & appreciated is a bargain on his average). Our reserves,Rob and young Max i'm more than happy with as well, and i'm sure they'll come good.A few strong teams completed already (subject to Visa machinations obviously) I wouldnt have Adam n Eved it,but i even heard a wee rumour that the Glesga' Strong on paper Tigers are up for a battle in 2015?It'll make a nice change tbh lol..bring it oan as they say!! I may come out my slumber before that happy time in spring when we set out on what i hope will be another stonking season to comment on Monarchs final signing at some point..I'm sure JC & Eck will pull someone good out of the hat to complete our squad..Again have a cracker of a winter solstice season folks.Peace to you all my fellow methanol heads

Biggest Improver 2014
Young51 replied to Paddy The Rebel's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
i missed this thread as i was hibernating in January waiting for the season to kick off. It's a really tough one to pick..and no i'm not just naming these two because they ride for Edinburgh.. Stevie Worrall and Justin Sedgman have been immense this year.In seasons gone by Justin would maybe have been disheartened by what was a poor scoring match for him at the OTA on friday, but he dusted himself down and looked unstoppable against the Rebels..it's been a real pleasure watching these two riders this season I'll give honourable mentions to others later.. -
No he wasnt Starman..Pointless was in no immediate danger from the other riders..hence no red light. He was given the opportunity to remove his arse from the track..but he looked up and choose not to..it was a professional foul to which the ref quite rightly said..you're out!It was the only decision a half decent ref who actually knows his stuff could have made
-
Totally agree with that..i used to love all matches with the Tiggers (and no just because 9 times out of 10 Monarchs have triumphed in recent years lol ),but to be brutally honest they've kind of lost their excitement factor.A 4 team tournament challenge would do it for me as i love those fixtures..i feel that would be a breath of fresh air rather than the stale offerings served up recently..sometimes you have to go back to the future as they say!
-
Pointless Asprin fell/went for a pre arranged lie down on 2nd lap..ref waited till Cook & Masters who were well in front crossed the start line for the third lap i believe (it was all a bit of a blur tbh)..then the red lights went on..then we waited..and waited and..announcement came on that the race was..AWARDED..cue pandemonium all around the ground and Monarchs were deservedly champions and treble winners.. What a night and it's only just sinking in what happened..my throat is red raw and i'm aching all over but that is why speedway is the best bar none.A superb performance by the Mighty Monarchs..and cue a smugness outbreak Commiserations to Somerset who fought hard..and respect to their riders..Nick Morris apart, who i'd better not say what i really think of him on this fine family friendly forum..he is a I'm still buzzing from what was an amazing night and will be for a while i think lol..It was such an emotional rollercoaster, but it was the right result in the end..Get in there the Blue & Gold..i'm so proud of our wonderful team
-
Maybe lol Nah seriously Spinny..i'm a pretty calm laid back person (although i wont be come tapes up tonight!) But..what i'm passionate about,i'm really passionate about. When i feel unjustified crap is being slung about my team or a rider,i'll fight my/our/their corner..and no that's not regardless whether we're right or wrong.Theres too many doing that in speedway & other lesser sports like footie lol.I've spoken out when our club has done something i don't agree with on a few occasions..As for Gaz..he's a rarity..a Glasgow Tigger i think i'd get on ok with I've had fun & banter on here with him for a few years now..it's all good! What he does have to address though is his denial in wanting to cross 20 odd miles along the M8 and join us over on the Dark Side, and support a decent speedway team Anyways..Here's hoping it's a cracking meeting tonight at the Speedway equivalent of a penalty shootout (and we all know English teams records in those lol..) Bring it on
-
You really need to get some new material Mr Gaz as your Monarchs stuff is wearing a bit thin tbh mate..your obsession with all things Blue & Gold/Team Smug (For acting smug read having a laugh and adding some humour Gaz..something that i thought you Weegionians were famed for ) is really becoming a big worry..why don't you come & join us on the dark side i thought Jammy Dodgy's statement/opinion that 'Monarchs are a 3 rider team' was laughable and a frankly ridiculous thing to say based on one hard fought match on a wettish track against a strong team. After the season we've had as a whole, his 'thoughts' made me laugh and i treated it with what i thought was a pretty measured response
-
Not for the poor piggie sacrificed for it Scotsman.. I seriously hope something positive happens for Peterboro over the close season.I and many others..yep even those Panther supporting traitors from down the A47 at the Norfolk end love watching speedway at the Showground It would be a real shame and a big blow to our wonderful sport if it was to close.. Let's face it speedway needs as many good news stories in these times..so here's hoping i'm celebrating yet another Edinburgh Monarchs cup win at the EOES next season I certainly think a Tuesday race night has to change for one..but the most important thing is that doors stay open.I wish you all the best Panther peeps
-
Nah..i understand you perfectly TJ.The match i was referring to was totally meaningless.Come back and beat us in a meaningful match and i'll heartily congratulate the Comets in a sporting manner.I've seen garbage Monarchs teams many a time and i dare say i will again, but i will not apologise for celebrating when a really special team comes along.Of course as long standing & sometimes suffering fans we're gonna make the most of it and have a few laughs along the way.A year or 2 ago we were nearly out of business so you have to enjoy while you can..win or lose.Life is short and all that pish y'know.I wish some people on here a speedy recovery from their sense of humour bypass ops.. As for the '100s' on here..couldnt give a rats really....and in other news Monarchs lost at Ye Old Oak Tree Tin of Ham Arena by 12 points tonight..congrats my West Country brothers & Sisters However..the fat lady hasnt even got her corset done up yet..you'd better bring your top game with you when you get to Armadale tomorrow..you'll need it big time..enjoy whats left of your evening.. peeps #BringItOan Dear dear..You don't half spout some right old pony Mr Jammy Dodgy.. And in some late breaking news a search party from a village in Cumbria has set out as one of it's I.Q negative members has gone awol..i do hope they find him..

No bitterness whatsoever topaz just saying To be fair even Worky in high summer isnt too tropical though lol..although July temperatures at Shielfield Park Berwick are even colder.. than a brass monkeys giblets It's the price we pay for being Northerners i guess.Cheers! Here's hoping the trophy stays oop North this year -
Now that is indeed a real talent Rob As i said earlier, like most/all riders they chance their luck .it's the nature of the sport occasionally.I'm just saying that Cookie doesnt deserve to be singled out, just because he's a very good fast starter.it's no accident that ex Motocross riders like Cookie,Lewis Kerr,Ritchie/Steve Worrall,Lawson are all pretty sharp away from the tapes as it's just as important if not more in that discipline .There are certainly a lot of riders in speedway who take a helluva lot more chances than Craig..i film a lot of speedway meetings and have witnessed a lot of starts in closeup by the way all the best Y51

Defeat accepted no probs..it was a totally meaningless match though, and if you hadnt noticed, the Monarchs have a couple of very important meetings this weekend..would you knock your pan in on a baltic night at Tellytubby land when the big prize is up for grabs?Nah i didnt think so
