Well said Custom House Kid Up the 'Ammers!!! One of my heroes Jack Young rode for West 'Am and the Monarchs (the only rider to be back to back world champ as a 2nd and then 1st division rider...quality! ) -

Apologies (well kind of )..was using 'plush grandstand' as a metaphor for your superior attitude that comes across in your posts. Why the hell would teams want to come up to the Elite League??the vast majority(not all thankfully ) of matches will cure insomnia at a stroke. Some of the worst meetings i've seen have been when the so called 'best riders in the world' have been there.Just because they call it 'Elite' doesn't mean it is in speedway racing and entertainment terms.<personal abuse removed> -

One does apologise Steve but i say it as i see it..and you <personal abuse removed>.the Premier league has so much to offer and doing down teams in our league because they don't have the dosh for plush grandstands etc seems a very narrow attitude to have, but there ya go.I've seen some of the best speedway in my life in spartan (to put it politely) surroundings. It's the racing that i go to see because above everything i love speedway. If you'll pardon the expression ..you sound very 'Elitist' p.s anyone who did cheer Rory Schlein (or any rider come to think of it) when he came off last night deserves a boot right up their hard drive..capiche?Give the lad pelters when he is up and ok by all means-we pays our money etc etc but if people did do that it's disgraceful -

<removed - cut out the personal abuse please>.I'd much rather watch racing in whats basically a field like say Scunthorpe/Redcar/Somerset etc (who fought and fought to get any sort of speedway track) than sit in a glass fronted stand <removed - cut out the personal stuff> watching a gate 'n' go borefest. No wonder teams don't want to go up to the Elite League.'playing with the big boys?' your having a giraffe! i don't think all Elite league tracks/ fans/etc are crap before the cavalry try to run me over <more personal stuff removed> p.s I'll probably only say this once in my lifetime but well done to Kings Lynn for the show last night and well done to Team GB...jeez glad thats that over with! -

Sounds like something out of the bible!Maybe the Omens are gathering and Rob Lyin has had a visitation from 'Higher Forces' telling him of his teams great impending victory at Vojens in the Lair of the Great Satan (or in this case Ole Olsen ) Glad everyone enjoyed the meeting. As for the final...well 'you've got to have a dream,if you don't have a dream, how you gonna make a dream come true?'to quote my old chum Captain Sensible Enjoy! At least don't come bloody last -

Paulco, as i've pointed out to Bongo....Please stop making sensible points ! It's too much to take! Is the med trolley on it's way round nurse? It was a duffer of a meeting though and has kinda lost it's mojo the past few years.Oh for the days when Peter Carr carried all before him and had wee Shane Parker in his back pocket.. happy days indeed sigh -

Fair play to Pepe on winning On the downside though it was a duffer of a meeting Never got going.Heroic effort by the Fish to get through to the final...but after doing the hard work the silly sod fell off!One of the few riders to be pure box office though...wish there were more riders like him(George M-what's all this 'right turn' cobblers about by the way?Your an awfy man ).Best rider on the night was Jason Lyons but again fair play to Wee Pepe -

Nice one CMV06 Glad you and your new 'speedway fans to be' enjoyed it.Gollob was immense wasn't he?He was a nail on winner before his bike decided to die.It Takes a top man to come on and apologise so fair play to you
-
Wow you sound like you have a right chip on your shoulder about the Poles SJM.Are you one of those paranoid xenophobic little Englanders? You need to have that looked at pronto. Also 'sponsors names on race jackets' (as was said in a previous post)...whatever next? Get over yourself and enjoy your speedway regardless of race jackets or the nationality of sponsors/riders etc...it's all trivial keek

Unfortunately there are drunken erseholes everywhere whether they be Polish,Scottish,English or wherever they come from. You can 'party on' but still have consideration for others and not spoil it for everyone.Sounds as if the stewarding for the event could be a bit better by the sound of it -

Hey Shadders sorry but offence taken at your Polish remark.People were quick enough to have a go at Dekkers 'stavros kebab king' remark about yourself. It goes both ways.I've come across a fair bit of anti-Polish crap in speedway and cycle speedway, and it's starting to get on my ** tbh. On a better note i thought the GP was very entertaining tonight.Tomasz Gollob was immense and was a stick on to win. So unlucky to stop, best rider by a mile.Brits were guff though Scotty Nic deserved more for his efforts.Happy for Holder who rode really well and seems a bonzer bloke-good luck to him. -

I'm glad you enjoyed the meeting start line kid i really am.Expressing an opinion is what this forums for.I just think that as speedway fans we sometimes settle for second best when it comes to not only this but other so called 'super7' events.I'm sure the Somerset track staff did their best but meetings like this should not be a 'dust fest' and should be a showcase for our great sport.Somerset is a lovely track usually, but sometimes outside help is needed for these events.Maybe a panel of the best acknowledged trackmen could help these events really catch the imagination? -

YES!The track does look like Porty Beach Najjer I'm afraid. It surprises me as Somerset usually is a good track, but there ya go.To be honest in my opinion the pairs are a bit of a diddy competition now.Bring back the fours competition as it was with four rounds-that'd be much better.Super7 logoed buckets and spades anyone? -

i'm sure they were fed up Bluejam, but would all of them still have him in oor team?I can't speak for them..but i would say AYE!All riders have nightmare meetings(as do us long suffering fans sometimes!)but the good/great ones far outweigh the bad 'Mon the Fish! -

Ah another Ryan Fisher lover comes out the works, and from Birmingham of all places-quelle surprise! Still rather have the Fish in my team faults included.Unlike some riders he is worth the price of admission most meetings. The pairs is pretty much a diddy competition these days anyway.Saying that though- well done to Wee Josh and Steve Mac Donald on their unexpected victory -

Jeez Parker Legend basking in a "win by nickname association" noo-thats a tad sad! Yes our Monarchs pairing had a 'mare of a meeting, but thats just the way it goes sometimes.Roll on the fours indeed...
