Turn Two, must admit your proposal does sound a much better option. -

Who would you have signed instead of Kyle? We had to sign someone following Danyon's prolonged absence. -
Leicester 2014 . Elite

IMO the ROTW team look very weak for this fixture. Why no Mads? Would have been a better option than Risager. You could take Tai out of the GB team and I would still expect them to beat the ROTW. -
Believe me it's not!!! I just cannot believe all the fuss about this particular rider. A part from Nigel Pearson's usual column in the Birmingham Mail I cannot see this announcement making much of a ripple in the sporting press.

In my view if it's not Dennis Andersson then we might have well stuck with Covatti. Nico is as good as Lahti; he knows Perry Barr, fits in with most of the other riders and he is a fans favourite. Can't see anyone else who it is worth the effort signing in place of Nico, unless Drury is going to bring in a new rider with bags of potential on a 5 point average (not going to happen).

Spot on MC. I cannot believe we are still waiting to see what the race formats are going to be for next year's meetings. If they go with the rumoured format, then we are going to see some very strange rider averages at the end of the season. That should make team building for 2015 interesting..... I am also wondering, now that Sky have confirmed they are on board, if they are telling the BSPA they need to rethink the race formats as there are going to be too many follow my leader races next year due to the massive difference in rider abilities in some of the races. Even looking at the differences between reserves and some of the second strings there are going to be many races which will be total non-events.

I seem to recall that Joe did a fair of promotions aimed at schools.

Good to see another well considered opinion.

If the choice was between Timo Lahti on a 4.80 average and Nico Covatti on 4.50, I would opt for Nico every time, even on the lower starting average.

Phil did a great job for the Brummies last year, but under the current management I would prefer it if Phil stayed away. I just can't see how the two sides could possibly work together, there's been too much said for it to just be brushed under the carpet and forgotten. As soon as the team hit a rough patch or things did not go as well as hoped, all the old animosity would resurface, people would take sides and the team/riders would suffer. I would much rather they announced a decent signing for our fourth rider then they say Phil is coming back.

Vaculik?

If Wolves go for Larsen (most likely) or Sundstrom as backup to Tai, then the Brummies last two could be Skornicki (6.14) and Wells (5.35). Although, don't see the point of signing a Pole if we are trying to keep costs down.
-
Orion, can't possibly be Larsen. The Robins only have 9.40 left for the last two riders and Larsen is on an average of 7.26, which would leave only 2.14. Expecting last two to be Gustafson and someone like Dakota North (4.23) for the final place.

Kennett has had some good nights round Perry Barr in the past, but also had some stinkers. Problem is that he goes out and wins first two rides and then comes last in the rest, blows too much hot and cold. He has ability but seems to be very temperamental. If he can get his head sorted out after that the problems of the last few seasons he could easily add a point or so to his average. However, if he continues as in past seasons he could also just as easily drop a point from it. Anyway, fingers crossed this will be the year he starts to sort himself out and concentrate more on what's happening on the track.

Sundstrom and Covatti won't fit as combined averages 0.04 too high!

It is not just a case of should we have Nico back or not, but rather who is a better option. The league will be weaker this year and Nico was getting some good scores, especially at home, before his injury. He has only completed one full season with the Brummies and I am expecting him to push on this year and see a good improvement in his average of at least 1.00 or 1.25. The question is, who else is available on a low average who has the potential to improve. I feel if the Brummies let him go elsewhere this year then they will regret it.

Redandyellow, you sure Drury said Kenny and not Rene?
