hey this is where i come in now if the world cup was a proper team macth with team riding etiher the four team struture with 2 team members per race or a test macth formula...it would not be left to opponents to team ride.. i rest my case....on hans christian andersen head! ( i didnt see PK ..fairy story?) he has done speedway a increasing diservice this season and i do respect the riders who were watching (biased as they may ahve been) louis, ermolenko, tatum who all spotted it!

i reckon that was barrie evans

just to mention about the time of the British GP i was listening to radio 2 and richard allison got a request for someone going to the GP and he said speedway first out of the gate wins! (or sumthing very similar) so that perception is still there!

it was sad tor ead about alby being ill, and please pass my best wishes on, im sure all old wasps fans remember him with a great deal of affection.. i remember him as my first idol when i was 7 at newport, he always seemed pleased to be signing my autograph books photos etc, a real gentleman...

i can testify ( i wanna testify) that i for one stood in awesome disbelief as in one of his first meetings at somerton park as he actually rode around the bottom of the fence on the first bend! he was a fantastic rider to follow... his intial years on the street four vavle was a sight to behold as (at blunsdon in 74-75) he went up the backstraight head below the handlebars whizzing along! a win inb the artdeans trophy springs to mind, the year his chnaces to become world champ were definately 75-76 third on the podium wasnt bad in 76. a truly nice guy never failed to sign autographs for us ..always seemed to wave if he saw you on the motorway on way to away matches, and at motorway services we had a big yellow banner ta time signed by him called ... bionic crump (well it was fashinoable at time lol six million dollar man!) little did we know his son would turn out to be more succesful.. a true speedway dynasty?

i realise it would be an enormous undertaking but i would imagine it an ongoing process! starting and going on and on as people emailed in photos, but what a asset to go and check who's who?
-
hi all just thinking couldnt someone start a website with a database of at least one picture of every rider we can get whose ever rode in an official meeting? ideal i guess would be 1 portrait 1 action with a little detail? a who's who of all time i guess. im sure all the fans interested could dig out all their old photos ive got loads of old newport ones and seventies ones. we just need someone to tkae on this enormous job lol or has someboy already done it?
-
i vaguely (corretc me if i wrong)remember a race in the 75 final i think when th track was messed with just before peter collins ital race with mauger, olsen (i thinK) i think it was after an interval collins got filled in on first bend and the golden boys chance had gone..i not sure im crumpie wasnt in the race as well i think it was like over watering im sure some geezer got on to track to try and water it himself! or i may be mad

can't someone sort out a poll for this? like narrow it down to the ten top matches of all time? i would to nominate thr belle vue v reading ko cup classic of the seventies involving a awesome run off between PC & michanek.. in my dream world id have a BBC2 programme like the recner..great britons or sit coms lol
