ok now the GP season's almost at an end what would you prefer a return to the old one off world final or keep the GP's ? ive been to dozens of both and i must say the old world final is for me. nostalgia? perhaps and you gonna get duff meetings either way but personally the olde mammoth qualifying route then a final i would choose what would you pick?

what an appalling meeting surely FIM have got to look at hpow they are preparing for these events no air fence? track that can't produce racing? it saddened me to see rides such as adams, crump & gollob some of the best passers in the business struggling, the track should be fair...this is a world cup for ************** sake! let's hope "no passing ole" doesnt ruin coventry & leszno wonder if hans will critise the track in nest week's star?

first bend right above pit gate third tier great view have been alround stadium third teir is best believe me and you can usually move around easily if you want a change . my son was gutted when his beloved nicki crashed out tho'

don't think it was called anything it was five minutes long i would guess showed scott's pit crew setting up his bike and practice on friday, best bit was when the guy talking (head mechanic?) broke off to help a kid put some fuel in scotts bike lol was quite amusing in a charming way! quite informative and has ive said elsewhere something sky could do more of, ice emailed them to repeat and do more of.

I thought the pitcrew thing on skynews was great ..more of this please sky surely a magazine type programme could feature this type of stuff witha studio type chat thing with different guests each week to compliment the live coverage alos send a camera to other meeting to give some brief highlights

definately best british gp yet at millenium, crowd did seem bigger and noisier (if possible) took my young son who was blown away! lol can't believe that poster who "wasn't that interested and had never been & never will" surely he's on the wrong forum lol gret roll on next year, can't see wembley competing witht he atmosphere myself, you have to be there to understand it! this with pouring rain also i may add what we like to call liquid sunshine lol

i think points system was as good as youre going to get it... with haiving a semis & final go forbid fiddling with it to make results closer... this way i think the guy who wins most races throughout GP will be world champion?

right i think i'm gonna do some project work on this - getting an online database of all riders who have ever ridden speedway in the UK name dob nationality clubs & years ridden and possibly honours a picture that should take a evening lol im guessing i'll have to get permission from sources i borrow info from that people mentioned elsewhere

I sort of mentioned this in the charlie monk thread, so i thought i kick off a new one, is there a database anywhere of every rider whos ever rode in the UK and which club etc. if not can we get one off the ground. lots of work i'm guessing. perhpas it could tie in with the speedway musuem in some way. pics, info

this has set me thinking is there a datbase of all riders who ever ridden for british clubs stating what years where etc? sounds a mammoth task but has it been done

i think 72 was better to...mauger pocning about at the start of the run off with persson , or have i imagined that? ive been to all the cardiff gp's and am yet to experience anything that comes close to the wembley finals i was priveliged to see 72, 75, 78 & 81 the sheer excitement factor made hte hairs on the back of your neck satnd up. i do also think i knew i was in the presence of greats like briggs, mauger, olsen etc not so sure these days perhaps tv has taken the edge of it for me at that level.

i just did form the facts 3pts for a world championship 2ptd for runner up and 1 pt for third...i think its as fair as you gonna get their have been several changes to the systems down the years in the early years finalists carried forward the poitns from qualifiers i think, now we have GP personally i ve been to sevral GP's & several world final and i still prefer world finals old skool im afraid but that may say more about me than the systems lol and BTW whos the top GB rider and wheres he from lol (this had no bearing on using this lol...)
