  1. i think you'll find super league is going back to cardiff in feb for another magic weekend!
  2. sorry i still dont get it exactly why had tim been replaced? ive read newport's release and read tim's seems to me that tim's not been treated too well
  3. wtf? ok logic here please...surely hornets are a development side for the wasps long term. OK we have had a great season and winning the title is important but.... i though tim was signed for the future? tim has a tidy style and has scored good points. no dispespect to luke who is well known to wasp fans due to his stirling efforts as a reserve several years back and his awful injury a few years back but hardly a signing for the future? i am disappointed on two counts lack of info from official sources and this replacement doesnt seem to fit the hornets main objective to me best of luck tim for the future - i will miss your efforts for one ps things had been improving so much lately but this is a spanner in the works for me
  4. yrs it was a bnak holiday monday im sure we did reading v hackney in the morning white city v hull in the afternoon and the interntaionale at wimbledon so its was whit monday i believe ehose were the days and we were wasps fans lol

  6. sorry - not good enough - referee should say get racing - this aint good viewing - speedway shoots itself in foot again

  11. this not good lol poor coverage im afraid and american speedway not to my taste
  12. ahh good memories.. 1972 @ Wembley 1975 @ Wembley 1978 @ Wembley 1990 @ Bradford still prefer the one off World Finals which i believe were scuppered by holding them at various unsuitable venues world final at cardiff anyone! lol what about having a grand prix & a world championship Obviously called something else? wolrd matchplay type thing
  13. to me this field looks very stale im afraid, i would have put holder in at least
  14. ahh youve spotted his plan!!!! 2 this year 3 next 4 the year after...
  15. i won't be renewing my subscription, would be great if somebody come up with an alternative independent mag
  16. i would for one have had tai in last nite, i think a serious investigation needs to take place funded by the bspa to get a authority in to carry it out and put a ten year plan in place
  17. http://speedwaymalaysia.blogspot.com/ more than you think! he he
  18. there were three attempts at international tournaments in the sixties/seventies, firstly the patchy world league in the late sixties which i think was basically a couple of matches norminated in various test series - in those days test series were major events. secondly a internations tournament i think in 72 or 73 then the daily mirror backed international tournament in 73 or 74 culminating in a pulsating TV covered final at wembley between england & sweden which ended in a draw needed a run off beween PC & michanek ending in exclusion for anders controlversially. of course it wasnt the only amazing race between Pc & anders that year if my memory is correct there was waht has been descried as the greatest race ever at the zoo between them in a KO cup match i htink where alomst every bend they passed each other!!!! there were other mini tournaments in the eighties involving 4 nations to celebrate various anniversaries back to topic i suggested the seeds to the cup finals rounds to try and two minor nations to fight their way through rough example below-every 4 years!!!! qualifying groups - 1-scotland, hungary, norway & austria 2-germany, slovenia, italy & finland 3 USA, south africa, new zeland & malaysia 4-wales (he he!), russia, holland & france qulifying final group - winners from all groups - top 2 to finals world cup finals - group 1 - GB, Den, Czech & qualifier group 2 - Swd, Pol, Aus & qualifier finals in UK for example GB V Cze-coventry Den V Qual-peterborough Qaul V Gb-eastbourne Cze V den - sheffield & so on OK there will be hammerings but eventually as i football/cricket/rugby....
  19. how about a proprer world cup now (seeing as it was virtually poland v australia last night) the "minor" nations 9(us/usa/ger/hun/slo/sco!/etc) could sort themselves out in qualifying rounds the on to a world cup finals like most other sports top six ( aus/pol/den/gb/swd/cz?)seeded to finals - finals two groups of 4 held in one country over a week/2 weeks or so discuss
  20. have to say music was topclass this year hope youre back next year, my 10 year old said unprompted the musics better this year. well done.
  21. I mention this because...they didnt mention tomicek had fallen or that he was getting treated ...maybe because the cameras were focusing on dryml? the conspiracy starts here!..well it beats talking bout the track! have sky ever showed apic of them commentating at the gp meetings
  22. well what a lot of rubbish, i didnt think i would ever turn off a world championship speedway meeting on TV but i did. it seems that sky just can't see it though "what a great meet" doh speedway gp a stand alone like F1 soon? seems to be the thinking and as about entertaining if that was anything to go by OK great stadiums but crap tracks!
  23. I know we are unlikely ever to return to the one off finals (money etc) and you gotaa move on etc. the question really was if you had a choice (excluding all the reasons why we cant)what would you choose funnily enough it was the some what muted response when nicki fully deserving won the title, compared to my memories of seeing mauger, olsen, collins, briggs, fundin etc winning that prompted the question in my mind as an added discussion wnat about an alternative idea a GP type qualifying series (with more riders eg everybody having 6 out of 8 rounds) then a big one off final (top 16 scorers) at the end (which the $1,000 seems to be in some sense) and how about GP round at cardiff... final at wembley then! or has anybody got other ideas?
