  1. It's what young people do these days. You must remember when you did when you were young Carl.
  2. So why was Cookie outraged about being timed out on 2 minutes, when he made no attempt to prepare to ride, no helmet or gloves, whilst a bike was spinning away being warmed up. Something else must have happened, but he didn't look like his wrist was damaged despite him holding it walking off the track. Strange. Never expected to win tonight and certainly not enough to overtake the lead that Worky had. Cometh the moment cometh the men, every Diamond gave their all with good performances, with the exception of Dan Greenwood who was as bad tonight as he was the last time he rode for us. Pity about the delays, but if a hole appears unexpectedly it has to be repaired to the refs and riders satisfaction. If it takes half an hour, so be it, if we wanted the meeting to go to a conclusion. Man of the night - Roy Clarke
  3. Very high up officials from Newcastle at the Heaton Music Festival where we had a stand yesterday.
  4. Born in South Africa, brought up in Rhodesia and played for Zimbabwean.
  5. The good news I hear is that Ludde has binned the GTR's so he's back to GM's I presume. Let's hope it improves his scoring as we need his points. plus a few more from Ashley riding against his previous track and Lewis. Still think it could be tight but only if we get the needed improvement in scoring from the above three.
  6. Quite agree. The usual arch complainers like iris and HA would be the first complain if Schlein had won the British title/wildcard but when an investigative journalist does it before them they then criticise it as 'should have better things to do'. Same could be said of them then. Some folks only exist to moan to satisfy their own egos.
  7. But it is highly unlikely to run a league of 18 teams. 16 was voted as the most the PL could be by the PL promoters in the early 00's. That was because of KO Cup and League Cup meetings plus the 15 H and A were consider the most a team could fit in with rainoffs, etc. A number of EL teams at the time were hinting at dropping down, so the PL decision stopped that unless it was one for one which did happen.
  8. A bit late. It was mentioned and discussed when the fixtures first came out early in the season.
  9. Sheffield and the IOW used to be considered a long way as well.
  10. You are right that the tracks are entirely different. The bends are tight, like the Kirky Road track, but unlike long standing stupid rumours, the track is relatively smooth and has been for years. It is produced with dirt on, and that gives it drive and having to lock up tight to turn and return up the straights. The new BV looks relatively easy to ride with wider track and many different racing lines. Higher gearing for speed at BV and a smoother ride, as opposed to lower gearing with a more responsive engine. Not really. Resting an injury is part of a recover process for any athlete/sportsman.
  11. I represent ME, nobody else, right. Snide comments doesn't do you much good. I have never talked to either George or Alan about this forum. It you care to reread what I said about Steve that he had injured his wrists, it does not say he could, would, or might be missing any meeting. It you had been at Redcar on Thursday you would have known that his bike lifted coming out of the second bend and he struggled to get it down safely. It was all arm and wrists, and when he dragged the bike off the track, he sat on his hunkers looking in pain or winded. i was told after the meeting he had hurt his wrists, which could have been expected. I believe it was left to Steve and his medical advice, if he was going to be riding or resting on Sunday.
  12. Robert, Richie and Richard weren't injured but, so the comparison is mischievous. I knew on Thursday that Steve had damaged his wrists, hence the reason Ludde being the next scorer was drafted into heat 15, and could be doubtful. As others have said. if he had ridden on Sunday night and then pulled out, his rides would all have been taken by Ben and Dan. No chance of getting within 4 points then. At least we gave then a fright until the heat 9 1-5.
  13. The fact he would there to represent the Management Committee has obviously passed you by.
  14. Could just go with 1 minute for tapes restarts. Tapes could still be mended in timeish.
  15. The tapes went under his helmet and he has a friction burn across both cheeks and under his nose. He woke up this morning with a big fat lip, and unable to talk. His Mam is delighted.

Thanks for staying. Congrats to Ashfield Giants.
  17. I believe all three Brits made the Final with Leon Flint taking 5th place, after being scuttled by another wayward Pole. Jason was 10th and Jordan 16th. Won by a Swede.
  18. George's forte is with riders and the rules, not the business John. Have you been out in the sun too long again Mike. After the slump we had in 2005/6/7ish you must have forgot 2010 and the few years after that.
