  1. So you don't like Newcastle, think we race at a council tip, think the ref is a joke, wrong decision getting RR, now say Robert is going to be missing again next Sunday(when we don't have a fixture). Stick to the STMP, as you know sod all about anything else homer.
  2. Add airfence repairs/replacement, BSPA monthly admin charges, some flights, etc, it all mounts up.
  3. I'm with that, rather than an increase.
  4. Not as well as normal, but still just under the playoffs qualifiers. Got two GB riders, one a European champion and still going for the World title. Still got the Pairs and the Individual title to go for and fairly well fancied as well. Still beating local opposition but you already know that. Still in the CUP. Incidentally, how come you changed allegiance to Edinburgh who have quite well without you so far. Anything to do with the previous plights of Redcar, but you need to chase the glory ?

Result never in doubt, but a better result for the Gems than on previous visits.

Fortunately not injured, but has abrasive marks on his arm and shoulder. Be OK for Northside on Saturday but A good little battle after a superb first meeting. Both bottom of the table, but good track time which is the prime requisite. Quite a few supporters again who stayed behind to be entertained. Many Thanks again.
  7. It talks a lot more sense than you Bellers. How is your team Edinburgh doing anyway. Have you moved up there to be part of their success. Or are you not bright enough to realise that you are the same old Bellers still supporting Redcar.
  8. Garrity gave up on the last lap in heat 15, and was passed by Barker.
  9. Quite agree. The Bears fans turned up for this one in the belief that they would do the clean sweep and beat us both home and away and that was what the Diamonds fans would have also thought as well. But there are changes in life that favour the brave, and fortunately for us a rain off came to our rescue, and this meeting became the priory meeting on the day and a facility was available. The meeting was arranged in the knowledge that we would not have Robert, but was still run presumably to help Redcar and ourselves get a meeting in regardless. Especially as we can't get our other home fixtures in next week, as our opponents are all riding elseswhere. Surprisingly, it was great to see the return of the Bears fans to Brough, as in the past few years when the Diamonds have been more dominant, whilst we give them their top 2 gates of their year, they don't return that favour away and stay at home. The new feeling with the new promotion is working, they have a better team now, return of their sponsors, better gates, improved track thank goodness, and now supporting their team at Brough. (all except one called Carter of course ) Even with RR this going to be a tough battle, with some of our riders having too many poor meetings occasionally. They had to step upto the plate to be able to win, and they did in a most frustrating way. Some hard and tough first bends(and Ben riding into the side of a Diamond rider) kept the scores level for over half of the meeting, but then things changed. A 5-1 to us seemed to ease the situation but Redcar hit back with their 2 1-5's to take the lead which they could not lose surely. Ludde steadied the situation with his usual easy ride in heat 14 leaving the rest hanging on the result of heat 15. Even then the start didn't favour us but, with a joint burst of speed off the second bend, both Stevie and Ludde powered to the front and raced away with the 5-1 we needed to take a win which was never on the cards. Great meeting, served up by 2 hard riding sides with lots of passing, great gating and a decent crowd in attendance. Apparently amusing scenes when 'the mother and daughter' were berating their fellow Diamonds fans after the 2 1-5's for Redcar, but had to take it back with the heat 15 5-1 to win the meeting. Great. This would have been a great advert for the sport whether you were an existing fan or a newcomer. Looking forward to the B fixture and more Bears fans. In the NJL final race, young Danny Smith, riding for the Gems, had a nasty "off" into and nearly over the 4th bend air fence. It looked horrendous but nice to report that he was up and about in no time and with no injuries just a nasty fright. Seeing as it was the last race of the meeting, and that the air panel had a 6 ft gash in it, the meeting was abandoned after the 5 heats with the score at 18-12 in favour of the Gems over the Cubs. Another decent youth meeting.
  10. The usual 'pity me, pity me' chant from Redcar. You are usually better than that NB.
  11. The meeting where Robert and Perks was riding in was on Saturday. Robert then had to go to Poland to ride in a Polish Playoff meeting which was then rained off. So Perks had 24 hours to get back, but Robert didn't. When the Polish meeting was first scheduled, that became the priority meeting, which International rules state it must given priority and the rescheduled meeting with Redcar then did not allow for a facility by British rules. When the Polish meeting was rained off, the reschedule meeting had no opposition so the Redcar meeting had priority and a facility was allowed. I wonder what people would have thought if Robert had managed to get back after the rainoff, and was then refused to ride as he had not been included in the published lineup for the meeting. Surely in that case that would have been even more nonsense that allowing a facility it he could't get back. Totally different scenario to the Holder case and no money passed hands yesterday.
  12. Up to Robert and the ref to allow him to be included in the line up I reckon. Wonder what time it was called off, and it there is enough time for him to make it. After all the waffle and sub plots wasted on this thread, it would be great to hear what those posters make of Robert managing to get back and ride tonight. Here's hoping.
  13. Do you also write thrillers in your spare time. Way off the truth. Redcar have been offered several dates, but were unable to accept them. Remember we have both Redcar meetings to rearrange as our other B meeting was planned for the same day as the 4's at Peterborough. There was a suggestion that Scunny would give up their away meeting with us to allow Redcar to replace them, and give them the opportunity for league points given that they were challenging for a playoff place, and the Diamonds and Scunny were not. Nothing came from that suggestion, so the Scunny meeting went ahead as planned. Given the pressure to get on with the backlog of fixtures, it would not surprise me if George had pressure put on him to put a fixture on, and probably accepted to do that he had no choice but to go without Robert.
  14. And don't forget after the main meeting, there is a NJL meeting second half between the Border Raiders and the Gems. Will the Gems get their first win at Berwick, be there to see it.
  15. Have you been on the bottle. Perks might be in the U21 round, but is NOT in the Polish playoff meeting. It is an international ruling that Robert has to be in Poland. Lambert could not ride for Newcastle. The last para has nowt in comparison.
  16. But surely the Polish meeting is on Sunday, so how can he get back to Newcastle ? It's a playoff meeting so how come Perks gets a mention.
  17. As was my enquiry to George. Really it should be allowed and then circumnavigating the International rules.
  18. Give me a definition to 'pushed off your bike'. You might struggle.
  19. I don't think anybody can say that. I understand that SKY paid up their contract, and that money is being paid to BT on a trial basis with BT using basic coverage. I read Philip Rising on here saying that BT are pleasantly surprised at the viewing figures, and it depends if that will result in BT continuing their coverage with more serious coverage and might pay the BSPA to allow them to film the coverage. Might be competition for SKY if they have been watching the effects of them giving up on Speedway, and seeing BT making a fist of it. Be interesting to see what happens, but BT do seem to need Speedway more than SKY does at the moment.
  20. Why. Alan has said it is the ISBL that has declared the priority. Newcastle can only follow what the rules say.
